of hope

Long ago the worlds of man and fey lived together in harmony. For centuries the two worlds coexisted and in the middle of these two worlds was the kingdom of Asiali. Though it was located in the human world it was closely linked with that of the fey for surrounding the capital was a huge forest many called the forest of the lost and it was said that inside were portals to the otherworld. Using the bridges to the otherworld The Asiali family became the diplomats for the human race to interact with the fey. As centuries passed however Fey began to fade from the world of man, their existence dismissed as mere stories spun by a fire to entertain children. Even in Asiali their long time allies and friends were beginning to forget them and so the Fey decided that they would disappear altogether from the world of man. Before they left however the old Fey bestowed upon the Asiali family a prophecy so that should conflict ever arise between the two worlds there would always be hope:

"the five asiali girls of kin
shall over the evil forces win
the eldest with eyes that can not see
shall lead the way through misery
the second a girl so strong and bold
will find the sword of gold
the third a girl so wild and free
will try to outrun the sea
the fourth a girl of brains
with poison in her veins
the fifth a girl of beauty and grace
will betray the rest to her disgrace
with the help of five brothers in purpose and kind
who're willing to sacrifice all for mankind
together they shall concur all
And if they fail all shall fall
to find the way in the dark
will require the five who can see the mark
only then will the girls find their way
through to the hearts of the fey
the man of strength and honor to lead
must forever remember his creed
the second a man of adventure and pleasure
must resist the temptation of his most precious treasure
next is the man with many words to write
who by journeys end must learn to fight
fourth is the man with magic in his fingers
through hopes and dreams lingers
the last is a true child of the woods
who can see through another's falsehoods"

As time passed the prophecy and the Fey all passed into legend. Then one day a dark cloud settled itself over the kingdom casting every living thing into darkness, a sign of great evil. While the people of Asiali prepared for the worse no one was prepared for what was to come. From the forest of the lost on a stallion of blackest night rode an elf claiming to be an emissary of the new Fey King with a message for the humans of Asiali; leave or face our wrath. Refusing this supposed kings demand and sending the emissary back to where he came from the people of Asiali waited in fear for what was to come. It began slowly at first, the disappearance of a merchant, the failing of a crop, the drying of a well, as problem after problem began to pile up it was apparent that these were not coincidence. Now the kingdom is falling, fading into ruin and with no hope left all eyes turn to the prophecy and the five princess to see if they are truly the last light.

asiali map- x
otherworld map- x
bridges- in order to travel from the human world to the otherworld one must cross a bridge in the forest of the lost. These bridges appear to be built by the nature that surrounds them, live branches grown into steady bridges across streams and ditches. Often one may see a bridge like this appear in one spot but then the next day it would have utterly disappeared. If one crosses such a bridge unwittingly they could be lost in the otherworld for eternity, the only ways back from the otherworld would be to cross a similar bridge.
prophecies- given by the old ones a prophecy is not a prediction of the future, rather it is a rule of sorts set upon a person or persons and when it's qualifications are met the prophecy becomes the future. If a prophecy states that you will die if you stroke a black cat on the night of a full moon and on the night of a full moon you do so you will die. Many are unaware that a prophecy has been placed upon them and even if they are aware it becomes incredibly difficult to decipher the true meaning behind the words.
fey- only one of the creatures that inhabit the otherworld the fey are by far the most powerful. Capable of living for thousands of years fey are the oldest and wisest of creatures but can also be the most vindictive and cruel. With no concept of death or mortality it's difficult for the fey to share common ground with humans. Fey also possess magic which can often prove to be a curse or a blessing for anyone who goes to deal with the creatures.

Re: prophecy of hope. Caoimhe

Postby Speak » Sun Aug 28, 2016 1:23 pm

caoimhe .nuala .asiali

the free

[gender] female [age] twenty [title] princess [ location ] forest stream [ tagged ] open

faster, faster....her feet pounding against the sand with the same force that her heart pounded against her chest Caoimhe ran on, her hair streaming out behind her in a chaotic blonde wave. Caoimhe didn't even know what she was running from, all that the young princess knew was that she needed to keep on running until it wasn't possible to run anymore. An endless stretch of beach extended before Caoimhe and still she ran on the only sound her chugging breaths and so soft it was barely a whisper someone kept repeating the same phrase "the third a girl so wild and free, will try to outrun the sea..." over and over it was repeated as if it were some sort of mantra. Finally wether it was from exhaustion or some otherworldly force Caoimhe fell to tired to move now the only sound that remained were her shuddering gasps. As she regained some of her breath Caoimhe began to turn in the hopes of seeing what she'd been running from...
Gasping Caoimhe opened her eyes to see the plain stone grey of her ceiling staring back at her. It had all just been a dream, a dream that kept repeating itself always ending just before she could see whatever it was she was running from. For a moment Caoimhe sank into her bed as if trying to ground herself making sure that she was really here that is until she felt the cool air of morning wrapping itself around her. Sitting up Caoimhe almost instantly understood why, in the chaos of her dream the young princess had thrown her covers off of the bed leaving her with only a flimsy sheet. Sighing Caoimhe abandoned her bed and moved to glance out the small window on the other side of her room. Outside the world seemed grey as if a little bit of its energy had been lost or perhaps stolen by the very creatures who in centuries past had been said to protect it. It'd only been a week since the dark fey rider had delivered his ultimatum and ever since Asiali had begun to encounter catastrophe after catastrophe plunging the entire kingdom into peril. The only hope apparently being an ancient prophecy that hardly anyone remembered, passed through stories and legend Caoimhe wasn't even sure if the prophecy that her parents had told her was the one that the fey had given to her ancestors. The prophecy....five sisters who would save the kingdom and defeat evil forces with the help of five brothers. By this point it was obvious who the five sisters were but the mystery of the five brothers still eluded everyone especially Caoimhe, after all problem solving had never been her forte.
These thoughts swirling through her mind Caoimhe felt the forest calling her, its wide spread branches and cool clean air the only escape from her troubled mind. Slipping on a plain white blouse and soft leather pants Caoimhe pulled on her boots and a green grey cape before fleeing the stone walls of her home. Ever since she was little Caoimhe had always had a knack for sneaking out and getting around guards (much to her parents frustration) and today was no exception. The sun now a little higher in the sky and beginning to warm the ground Caoimhe cut quickly through the town and before long disappeared into the forest.
Dark trees towered over her letting only a fraction of light filter down through their leafy branches and patterning the ground with dappled light. Starting off at a slow walk it wasn't long until Caoimhe was running through the trees trusting in only her senses as she practically flew through the undergrowth. Here everything seemed so much more simpler there was only the sun, sky, and trees no talk of prophecies or pressure to be who she wasn't, here she wasn't Princess Caoimhe Nuala Asiali she was just simply Caoimhe. Eventually the young princess stopped running, her feet had brought her to a small stream no larger than one of Caoimhe's strides. Sitting by the edge Caoimhe simply stared at the trickling waters her mind full of prophecies and puzzles. "to find the way in the dark, will require the five who can see the mark" she murmured as if somehow by saying it the words would make more sense.

Natalyaxxxxooooofeeling. contentogoes by. princess natalya, natotags. none
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooage. twenty five years oldolocation. her room → the library
      ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
xxxxxNatalya rolled over sleepily as she registered the light hitting her face. The sun was warm and bright, meaning it must be shortly past sunrise. Earlier than she usually woke, but Natalya found it impossible to go back to sleep once she was awake. She opened her eyes and was greeted by the usual sight of colors and vague, shapeless objects. But this was the same room she had grown up in and she knew it almost as well she she knew herself. The wardrobe was on the wall with the bricks that were rougher than the rest, and her bed next to the window. A bearskin rug covered the floor at the foot of her bed, and another on the right side. It was nice to get up and bury her toes in the soft fur, and not have to immediately step onto cold stone. She yawned and stretched, deciding not to call for her servants this morning. She would get dressed herself.
xxxxxNatalya slipped out from under the warm blankets and onto the bearskin rug. She followed the edge of her bed to the other rug, and from there found herself in front of the wardrobe. As far as she could tell it was rather tall, the shade of brown it was stretched up a long ways. But most of it seemed to be decorative, she was sure her dresses and things didn't take up that much room. Or if they did, it would be impractical to make them impossible to reach. Natalya unlatched the doors and watched as the cherry-brown was replaced by a sea of colors. Reds, greens, blues, and yellows. There were only a few pink dresses and clothes among her collection; pink clashed horribly with her red hair. Natalya considered the colors before her and selected a dress of pale gold. By the feel of it the dress wasn't anything fancy, but it was lady-like enough to gain the approval of Brianna yet allowed her to move freely enough so she could accompany Caoimhe or Fionn to the forest, if they took her there today.
xxxxxShe remembered her last visit well. It had been exhilarating to feel the wind on her face as she ran beside Caoimhe, and even more so because running in an unfamiliar place was a bad idea for her. As it was, Caoimhe didn't see the patch of mud on the trail before it was too late and she ended up on her back, with muddy water soaking into her dress. She hadn't hurt herself, and laughed it off soon afterwards, but their mother had been horrified that she'd done something so reckless and in the process ruined her dress. But Natalya didn't much care what their mother thought. She hadn't for a long, long time.
xxxxxHumming to herself, Natalya managed to slip into her dress without too much trouble. She ran her hands down the dress to smooth out the wrinkles and began to hunt for her brush. It had been painted red, since she saw bright colors easily, but a quick scan around her room revealed nothing. Natalya resorted to combing through her hair with her hands. A prospect a little difficult due to her long hair, but after a few minutes it felt as though she had gotten out the worst of the tangles. One quick braid later and she was ready to go. Hopefully her braid didn't look too terrible, but one of the benefits to being blind was you didn't have to see how terrible your hair might look.
xxxxxNatalya let herself out of her room and began her usual morning journey to the library. Ten steps to the corner, and then twenty more until she reached the alcove in the wall that was missing a lantern. From there it was a straight path to the library following along the wall until she reached the wooden doors. As a child her favorite thing to do was run her hand over the smooth wood, feeling out every notch and flaw until she memorized them. She didn't know why she had done it, but twenty years later she still remembered the amount: thirty three. Now there was certainly more, but now she also had different things to occupy her time - such as the contents of the library. She couldn't read the books herself, but often the royal scholar Dorian, or her sister Rhena would be in the library and willing to read to her. Unless they were busy, in which case Natalya would retrace her steps to her room and busy herself with playing her flute.
xxxxx"Dorian?" she called, upon pulling open the doors and stepping inside. "Are you here?"

I GET ALONG WITH THE VOICES

ANTONIO "TONY" MARTELL
тнє ƒιяѕт, тнє ѕσℓ∂ιєя

∂σιηg; Training | мσσ∂; Frustrated | тαℓкιηg тσ; No one
ℓσcαтιση; Training grounds behind castle

Tony, who had woken long before the sun was up--he actually wasn't even sure he had slept at all--stood in the small courtyard near the guards quarters. They used it as a training grounds, so most of the sparring equipment had been left out, all the wooden tools that really hadn't cost anything to make and all the dummies used for aiming and fist fighting. He glared at the mess around him, determined to yell at whoever it was that left his training area such a mess. He had spent most of the morning in his own quarters, but when the first rays of light peaked out over the horizon he had to leave his room; he hated spending excessive amounts of time indoors. He had gone to his training grounds, ready to start punching at one of this heavier punching bags, because he had had a frustrating night. The mess in front of him just made his frustration worse as he started to put things where they were supposed to me. He cursed to himself the whole time, until everything was back in its place and he pulled out the heaviest punching dummy they had. It was still made of cloth and straw, but the bottom was loaded with so many rocks that it was difficult for some of the guards to knock it over simply by punching.

As he started his training, he remembered his night before; the few drinks that he had had with a few of the other guards who were off duty that night at the tavern in town. Remembered one of his "buddies" telling a young girl some stupid things about Tony which proceeded to have him slapped at least three times before the night was over. He wasn't sure why he continued to go out with the other guards, it almost always ended up badly for himself; they liked to tease him a lot, and get him into trouble, because he was much younger than the other high ranking officers. He was only twenty four and already a General. There were men who were twice his age and were still only privates, or corporals. Many of the men that he was in charge of didn't think he should be; believed that there was others more qualified for his position. There probably was, but the arrogance in him had him striking the dummy harder than before and cursing those who thought that of him. He had served them well, served the army well, served the royal family well.
"Dammit!" He yelled, slamming his fist into the dummy again. He continued to curse very loudly to himself as he pulled off the linen shirt he had been wearing, it was covered in sweat now and he hated the way it was sticking to his body. If anyone had come in the courtyard by now, they'd see his back littered with scars, see him angrily punching at a dummy, and probably would have left by now.

INSIDE OF MY HEAD

{ I don't know army ranks very well, so if this is too high of a rank for him lemme know and I'll change it.
