brighteyes slowly pushed his way through the crowd of cats, eyes betraying little emotion as he surveyed the scene before him. his whiskers twitched as he sniffed over the bodies, before glancing back at flamepaw, then looked around at the other cats, "to put it simply, they were murdered. their bodies are still stiff--" he pointed out, flicking his tail. "it is likely they died last night. if you look here," the tom gestured with one white paw to featherwisp's neck. "you can clearly see the claw marks of another cat. however, these marks on lionwhisker's flanks are bite marks--very small bite marks. i would conclude that featherwisp was murdered, and lionstrike was bitten by a poisonous snake. because there is no scent but thunderclan, i would guess that she was killed by one of our own. there is a murderer in thunderclan." he declared, keeping calm, trying not to incite panic, whilst not hiding anything.

Sleetpelt was snoozing happily in his nest, and although the sun was starting to peek into the den, it wasn't time for morning patrol just yet. So, it was alarming when there was a loud commotion outside his den, and he could hear his name faintly being called above it. "Whaa-?" he asked, blinking open his eyes and stumbling quickly out of his den. He followed a warrior that was just arriving concernedly on the scene, carefully pushing away several clan members and standing next to Willowstar. "What's going on? I heard-" he gasped. Now he knew the reason for the early wake-up call, and it was a surprising one. "D-dead?" he said, pushing down a gulp. He was their deputy; he had to stay strong. "Brighteyes is right." he said, flicking his tail. "There is a murderer in Thunderclan." The news was obvious, and most everyone there had probably figured it out, but he had to pitch in SOMETHING. To Willowstar, he spoke more quietly. "Do you think we should up the night patrol?" he asked nervously, suddenly uncomfortable being around his clan-mates, no matter if they were as concerned as he was. If the suspicions WERE true- which he was beginning to believe every moment he stood there- then anyone here could be faking their sadness.
