Ella put her head down. She looked at the floor, then back at his face. "No, but it's a total difference." She said. She held up her bandaged hands. "But she did still hurt me." She whispered.

Milo grasped one of Ella's bandaged hands in his own, a single tear sliding down his cheek. "What did she do to you?"

"Locked me in my cabin." Ella said. She reached forward, pressing her lips to his.

Milo leaned forwards a bit to kiss her back, pressing his face into the bars of the cell. After a while he tried to pull away, and couldn't. "Hey, Ella?" he said with a pained laugh. "My head is stuck."

Ella laughed. She took her extra water and dumped it over his head, making it slicker. She pushed his head out, then sat back.

Milo laughed as well, then wiggled his ears up and down to make sure they were still attached. He pulled the keys to Ella's cell out of his pocket and unlocked the cell, stepping in to hug her. "I missed you," he said, smiling.

Ella hugged him hard. "I love you." She whispered. She nudged her head into her shoulder. It fit there perfectly, like a piece of a puzzle.

Milo smiled and held Ella close for a few minutes, then took a step away and held her at arm's length so he could get a better look. Her hands were bandaged- he had seen that already- and she had a cut on her cheek from the fight. "Didn't you get the message I sent you?" he asked. "I put it with the letter I Liza, by pigeon."

"What letter?" Ella asked, confused. She hadnt gotten any letter.

"Oh," said Milo, crestfallen. No wonder she was so hurt- she hadn't seen what he had scrawled on the scrap of paper. It must have fallen as the pigeon flew.
