(I don't own this picture.)Personality: Zim, at his core, is incredibly narcissistic, overzealous, and destructive. Despite the fact that his entire race sees him as a mistake or abomination, he either completely overlooks or ignores this. He’s entirely convinced that he’s one of the best Irken Invaders that there are. To him, his failures, the things he destroys, are great successes. Ironically, his arrogance and refusal to accept that he is wrong, even when he is, is half of the reason he does fail most of the time. Despite the fact he can be gullible and has a tendency to take things too literally(which is one of the main reasons he struggles to understand many Earth customs and gets them completely wrong,) he isn’t stupid in all aspects. In fact, he is very skilled with technology and if he tried harder, he could easily take over Earth or even destroy it. However, his own flaw of panicking over small, meaningless things that would otherwise not effect him is what causes most of his plans to end in failure. He’s incredibly loyal to the Tallests and the Irken Empire itself; the Tallests are among the only people who he actually respects. He’s actually a bit of a suck up when it comes to them; he’d do about anything, even at his own expense, if it meant pleasing his leaders. Zim claims to feel no love or affection towards any being but himself, though he’s made it apparent several times, towards GIR, for example, that he is capable of caring for someone other than his own self. He has a soft spot, though that is another thing he refuses to acknowledge. However, that’s not to say he’s frequently uncharacteristically nice; it’s a very rare thing to see. He’s quite cruel and careless a majority of the time, even towards people he considers his allies. He is also incredibly paranoid, going to extreme lengths to prevent hypothetical things from happening, even if the things he fights so hard to prevent wouldn’t actually ever pose a threat. (that's so long im sorry omg)
History: Pretty sure we all know it but just in case -- He singlehandedly destroyed Operation Impending Doom 2 and the Tallests banished him to Earth in an attempt to get rid of him. Zim has no idea they were just wanting him gone. He thinks he's an actual Invader.
