Stripestar looks at her and mews. "Other queens have be on patrols a moon before she left for the nursery. You wouldn't catch a cough with seven cats around you. Now are you going to fight against me Thrushleap?" He stood up as he flicks his tail and look at her.

Flamekit
His eyes widened in indignation. "Half a moon?! I'm plenty old enough now! How else am I supposed to be a great warrior like my mom said she and my dad were?" Flamekit glared at his leader, not knowing that he was supposed to be respectful of the leader and their decisions as he had been missing from the clan for most of his life.

Cloudgaze stopped grooming her daughter with a frown. She silently agreed that Thrushleap should not be going out on patrol. She-cats that did decide to continue their warrior duties before moving to the nursery normally only did so until about a moon into pregnancy, which Thrushleap was already passed. Any later and a queen was putter herself and her kits in danger. And the leader's logic about not catching an illness just because other cats were around made absolutely no sense to her but she knew better than to voice her concerns.

Cloudgaze, who couldn't see the glare but could hear the hostility of the leader's voice, flattened her ears and tilted her head down as if she was looking at the ground. She was obviously still very distressed about the death of her former mate and already blamed herself for it. She knew she was directly responsible for Leopardstripe choosing to jump off that cliff. She didn't react to Stripestar's lie at all but didn't know why he had chosen to hide the truth either.
