Falconheart was frightened as the seemingly angry dog emerged from the den like structure. He narrowed his eyes in suspicion, only to calm down when Spike barked at what seemed to be his mate. The pups running around and howling in their squeaky little voices confirmed that she was just protecting her children. "Aw... He just wanted to show us his family." He purred, approaching one of the puppies slowly and letting it sniff him.

Mottlefur approached one of the puppies as well and let it sniff her. It started to bite her tail but it didn't really hurt so she didn't do anything about it, plus the mother looked like she wanted to eat them alive. ''One day I'd want to have some kits like these pups.'' She said out of nowhere, mostly to herself.

''Sorry. Let's just hurry.'' Sparrowpaw muttered. She walked away from the gorge and started walking back to the cabin.

Falconheart saw the pup biting Mottlefur's tail. He laughed, soon realizing a different pup was licking his paw. "I've never really thought about having kits before. I suppose it could be nice though." He replied, hearing her statement. He wasn't sure if he was supposed to reply, but he did anyways.

Spottedpaw broke into a sprint, zooming in front of his sister. They needed to get there as fast as possible.

''If I did I wouldn't want it to be in the cabin.'' Mottlefur said, turning her attention to Falconheart. ''Should we stay longer or go back to the cabin?'' She didn't want to leave the pups, but they would have to leave sometime. She was also cold.

Sparrowpaw ran as fast as she could as well, and they soon reached the cabin. She didn't really know what to do, so she let Spottedpaw go ahead of her.

Falconheart nodded in agreement. "I can't think of anyone who would. It just seems wrong for a clan kit to be born into the conditions of a kittypet." He moved away from the pup at his feet. "I think we should leave, its getting chilly out. We can visit sometime if you'd like." The tom dipped his head to the dogs, indicating a goodbye as he padded off towards the cabin.

The pup released Mottlefur's tail as she stood up to leave the den. ''Bye Spike!'' She said before walking after Falconheart. ''That was an interesting experience. I wonder If we'll ever see him again.'' She said.

Spottedpaw burst into the den and ran up to his mother. "M...mom." He caught his breath before he spoke more, tears still in his eyes.

Falconheart thought about whether or not they'd see the dog family ever again. "Well, we know where they are. Maybe we can go see them in time, though we should be cautious in case they forget who we are." He replied casually, fluffing up his fur to keep warm. His tail swished behind him as he walked, and for once he was excited about returning to the cabin. It meant he'd get all the warmth he could want. That was very likely the only thing he'd miss about the wretched place.

Cloudgaze had started to drift to sleep when she was brought back to full consciousness by Spottedpaw's arrival. She could immediately tell that something was wrong just by the tone of his voice so she opened her eyes and sat up to face him as she asked, "What is it Spottedpaw?"
