lightkit stared at the voting cats. she looked at her mother who
was in the corner. the kit padded up to pondgaze. "i know
it wasn't you, mommy." pondgaze looked at her daughter.
"i need you to stay here, become the strong warrior you
dream of being." she padded outside, telling lightkit to
stay in the nursery as pondgaze would be sent to die.

cats from left and right glared at the mother she went
to meet her fate. where would she go, what about her
kit? the path ahead lay undecided. pondgaze had
remembered her clan, hunting and fighting with them.
pondgaze looked at the ground, she was scared.

"pondgaze..." ashstar looked at the queen. she
frowned. "it has been decided." no more words
were needed. lightkit burst out of the den yowling,
smallfern tried to stop her. "mommy, mommy!"
pondgaze turned around to face her kit. "lightkit,
it's alright." she weakly smiled before continuing.

Later that day, Windclan found Pondgaze
hunting and decided to take her in. Thank Starclan.
