Brambleheart rested her tail casually on Greenheart's back as she watched Fallenstar call Shadowkit up. She smiled at Greenheart. "Do you remember when you were first made an apprentice?" Brambleheart leaned over and whispered to the tom. "I do. I was so nervous, but Dapplefeather and Eaglewing comforted me." The white bengal she-cat smiled at the memory. "Were you nervous at your ceremony? Or brave?"

Dapplefeather watched the ceremony from the entrance to the nursery. Eaglewing sat just outside the nursery, Snowkit between his paws. Dapplefeather purred as she looked at Snowkit, then down at Cloudkit between her own paws. I'm glad they're not going to be apprentices anytime soon! I'll miss them so much!

Eaglewing wrapped his tail around his paws, on which Snowkit was resting. She squeaked in annoyance and clambered over his tail to watch. He laughed, and moved his tail away. One day, that'll be you, he said silently, looking down at Snowkit. Snowpaw and Cloudpaw, the greatest apprentices ever! The Bengal tom purred as he looked back towards the ceremony.

Toadpelt sat in the clearing, tail waving excitedly, as if it were his own ceremony. Memories of his apprenticeship flashed behind his eyes, and he smiled. I kinda wish I was just being made an apprentice! It's so exciting! Although, the Bengal tom added as an afterthought. Then I wouldn't be able to do all the things that a warrior can do! Toadpelt thought for a bit, then decided he wished he was just being made a warrior.

Right now, you're a kit, and in five moons, you'll become an apprentice!" Her heart panged at her words, but she forced herself to smile. "And don't worry, it'll be a long time 'till you're an apprentice."

The she-cat followed the younger cat out of the camp. She paused to stretch, flexing her claws.
"So," she mewed in a quiet tone, slightly parting her mouth to taste the air. "Can you scent any prey?"
Only the cool smell of leaves hit her nose and she shook out her head.

Owlcall purred loudly, nuzzling his nose into the thick fur on Tawnyshadow's neck. "I can't believe you don't think I'm beautiful." He mewed after a moment, putting a fake hurt look on his face. He couldn't keep that up for long though before his eyes glittered in amusement.

Ryemouse settled next to Foxfang, watching Fallenstar as she gave Shadowkit her apprentice name and mentor. She leaned against her mate's shoulder, her eyes glimmering as she imagined that one day that would be her kit's up there. The tabby queen could hardly wait for her kit's to be born.

Her happiness faltered for a moment when she wondered if she would even survive long enough to see her kit's. Even though Stoatfur and Foxfang had thought she was asleep, she could heard everything they had said about her possibly not being strong enough to survive kitting.

Stoatfur went through his den, checking on his patients before putting away the rest of the herbs that he had gathered earlier that morning. Once the medicine cat was finished, he ducked into the back of the den and curled up in his nest, tucking his nose under his tail.

She trotted across the barn floor and carefully clambered up the wooden ladder that lead up to the barn loft. The young she-cat looked back down at the traveling cats before going to her nest and curling up in it.
