if you even get to have a first impression (he doesn't like to be around other dolls)
it'd appear astraeus was very shy. he won't speak to you and if he sees someone or
they see him and try to make contact with him, he'll barely move unless he's trying
to scamper away.
ｐｅｒｓｏｎａｌｉｔｙ
once you get to know astraeus you'll see he's extremely catlike. he's very fidgety,
playful, and curious. he'll bat at flies or laser pointers, play with cardboard boxes or
socks, and hide from dogs or vacuum cleaners.

ｈｏｗ ｔｈｅｙ ｃｏｍｍｕｎｉｃａｔｅ
the decorative beads that hang from asteria tap and dance with a clink! upon her star,
which causes a beautiful wind chime song that only astraeus can hear. his cat ears can
recognize certain tones and noises that mean something to him. and he responds by
talking normally. this is how they communicate.
ｔｈｅｉｒ ｒｅｌａｔｉｏｎｓｈｉｐ
asteria and astraeus have a relationship like a human and his pet dog. asteria plays the
part of the loyal dog, who can't really "talk" but knows when something wrong and how
to cheer you up. astraeus plays the part of the human, who loves his "pet" wholeheartedly
and cares for them.

ｓｏｎｇｂｙｂｌａｃｋｍｏｒｅ＇ｓｎｉｇｈｔ
ａｓｔｒａｅｕｓ＇ｓ ｊｏｂ
astraeus takes care of the moon (the moon in the dollhouse realm). every night, he sails
out into the vast ocean where the moon is closest to the earth and practically touches
the water. he brings with him a long ladder so he can climb up and reach the moon's
surface. did you know that the moon's glow comes from not the sun in the dollhouse
world, but thousands of stars that cover the moon? astraeus's job is to sweep the stars into
position. each night he pushes them just a little to one side so that it gives off the illusion
that the moon is waxing and waning.

ｗ ｈ ｙ ｈ ｅ ＇ｓ ｃ ｒ ｙ ｉ ｎ ｇ
let us start from the very beginning, from when astraeus wasn't even a doll. once upon a long, long time ago, astraeus was a kitten. a kitten with one dream, one goal. to reach the "bowl of milk" that rested in the sky every night. he would try to reach it, to touch it, to taste it, but every night he could not reach it. he tried climbing trees, jumping off things, racing as fast as his legs would take him, even craning his neck and licking the sky but nothing worked. he'd hurt himself by trying, bumping his nose, banging his ear, and pinching his tail. he spend his entire life as a kitten growing into a cat trying to get the milk in the sky.

looking back at his old life before he was reincarnated into a doll saddens him. he wished he didn't waste his life trying to do the impossible. it wasn't even milk he saw. it was the moon. he barely spent any time enjoying being a cat or doing anything with his family. it makes him cry watching himself wither away as he tried to reach the "bowl of milk" in the sky. having to work on the dollhouse's moon only makes it harder on himself.
