Aztec slowly lifted her muzzle to the air and closed her eyes, enjoying the scents of pine needles, dirt, and wild game. Opening her eyes, she caught another scent— dog. Nervously lifting one foot up and then another, she licked her lips again, hearing the rabbit hopping around in the distance, now all she wanted to do was pounce on it. Regaining her usual scences, she walked towards the dog 'bravely', looking like a deranged whale flopping around on land.

The fae buckled backwards at the brute's voice, setting her back a few steps. "Ah yes, I'm fine thank you." she politely replied, not trying to make the bigger dog angry. He looked mean and ready to fight. Almost intimidating… she thought to herself before shaking it out of her thoughts. No! I'm the top dog here! she thought to herself reassuringly. "Who are—" she started to ask, but then the dog really got to her. He was bigger, stronger, and a lot more confident than herself. Stepping back a few paces, she managed to make it a few feet from the brute for safety, just in case he decided to lunge or try to start a fight.

The hunter watched the beta carefully, dogs of higher ranks often tried to take advantage of the others and he wouldn't stand for that. He wasn't scared of Aztec herself but of her rank as he was only a hunter and didn't have control over much. Zeus stood up and walked over to a puddle, it was shallow and muddy but he and a drink anyway.

Alas, the fae got used to the brute and let her guard down. Shaking her heavy fur, she sighed, and then flopped on her side, dirt getting all over her face. Ears flicking around, navigating noise to her, she sat up when she heard a crunch. Crap… she thought to herself before pushing it out of her train of thought. Sitting up, she nipped at a dragonfly that was about to land on her nose.

Zeus snapped into hunt mode when he heard something out of the ordinary, his eyes scanned the trees and long grass for a few long seconds before walking over to Aztec and layed down a few meters away. He was a quiet dog when it came to being around others but he would do anything if he needed to. The brutes ears followed the noises and his nose followed the new scents but no fear over took the dog.
