How do staff get customs? Do they draw them or is it an unreleased pet only available for staff?

Staff members get to have customs as a reward for their hard work for the site. They're unique pets and are given to them as gifts. Some staff draw their custom pets themselves, but that's not necessarily the case - some of them have been drawn by other artists (for example, Jack's lovely custom is the work of Lillian).

There's a thread showcasing some customs here.
Not all people who have customs want them to be shown around openly, though (so no, that list is not complete).

In the past, customs have also been given as gifts to regular users for various reasons. On one occasion CS held a cake baking competition to celebrate its birthday, and the winner was given a custom as a prize.
But those were all very unique situations, and these days customs are almost strictly a staff thing.
