what a lovely doll, and what wonderful pictures!! i especially love the one of oliver drawing. it's a very well done photograph. with the soft light and things out of focus around the edges, it seems oddly intimate and quiet and peaceful. definitely better than any pic i've ever gotten of my crew, so i'm envious

nah just kidding lol. it is a fantastic picture though. you have a wonderful eye for lighting! it's a great photoshoot of a lovely doll!

i haven't done too much bragging around here lately - so let's do some of that maybe lololol
every november (it started in october, and got moved - i don't object because it moved to my birthday weekend hehehe), for my birthday/christmas present the last couple of years, my parents have very graciously helped my disabled butt get to the atlanta ball jointed doll convention. i've gone since year one, and this one is probably going to be the most exciting yet. peter s beagle (the author of the last unicorn) is our special guest, and most exciting to me, two of the artists that attend the convention have teamed up to make an MSD size faerie con doll!!!

this pic from the kickstarter shows the resin colors, and the different face sculpts. it's same body, 2 face types. the spikier ones are the 'dark fae', the smoother petal-like faced ones are 'light fae'. i ended up ordering a 'light fae' in the light tan color. as far as i know i am the only one to have taken advantage of that stretch goal. she will truly be one of a kind!
https://ksr-ugc.imgix.net/assets/005/62 ... f159f02faathere's the bodies in a 3d render of two faeries sitting on a mushroom. not nsfw - they are censored with flowers lol - but i am linking it out instead of posting it just in case somebody's... idk... mortally offended by resin tummies or something
anyway, i'm really looking forward to this year! i can't wait to get my faerie. most of the time i struggle to name dolls but funnily enough this time the character just sort of barged in to my head, yelled, "HELLO! I'M NANETTE!", and that was that. why nanette? i don't know. i really don't know much else about her! lol! but that's the fun part of figuring it out i guess!
one of the artists that worked on the faerie is one of my favourites as well. if you want a doll that is smaller/more affordable, or really just quite unique, or if you want to get all meta and give your bjd a bjd... ESPECIALLY if you love fantasy sculpts...
http://www.shapeways.com/shops/silverbeam_magic is definitely worth the look. her micro bjds are fantastic!

i got one of these guys from her last year for 20 dollars (that included the panel about how to blush it and the supplies to do so). technically he's a pine cone sprite, but i painted him green and made him my broccoli baby, lol. unfortunately he's gone walkabout, so... i'm budgeting to get and paint another this year. this will, of course, cause the old one to reappear, so... broccoli twins?
anyway, the artist took a poll and she's adding to her micro bjd sprites set with a mushroom sprite this year. before the pine cone spite she did a little water sprite. and yes, they really are true bjds! the head, arms, and legs all turn. they are strung together very delicately inside with fishing wire!
(silverbeam also has a lot of other cute 3d printed stuff - doll accessories like dolly headphones, 3dses, dnd dice, and people accessories like pokemon go team pendants and whatnot. i realize i'm being obnoxious but she's a great person so /shrug. she also does a monthly box of bjd stuff via her patreon. you get to select which size you want for your doll and away you go. it's a little expensive for me since i'm doing kawaiibox instead but worth a look.)
anyway lol
now that i have Nanette on the way (and since the doll i was saving up for disappeared... thanks, mint on card)...
what do you guys think of bobobie/resinsoul's newest offering, the 28 cm deer centaurs? i am totally in love with them. do you guys think that it would make sense to have one be the 'little sister' of an msd size/40-45 cm faerie? yeah yeah i know one's a faerie and one's part horse, but blahbity blah magic whatever. the good thing about bobobie is that they offer the deeper resin coulours so i can actually get them both in dark tan. (if you haven't seen yet,
http://www.bobobie.net/index.php?main_p ... cts_id=440 - linked out not because the pictures are huge, also there is dolly nudity, however the sculpts are not mature and they're using the same prepubescent chest for both ostensibly male and female both).
