Story of us: He looks so like my real life baby...I ride him everyday and we train in western disciplines. I purchased him (or rather my parents did) when he was just four and green broken. I was just over 12 at the time and it wasn't the best match as he is exceedingly fiery. He had been through 7 different owners before I owned him, and no one had ever spent much time on him. He is now winning major shows with me. We have founded our partnership on trust, natural horsemanship and fairness. He is very affectionate towards me now and I've owned him for 5 years this November . We are the perfect match <3

Personality: Spunky, flighty, aggressive, intelligent, curious, cheeky, naughty and very very smart. He's the class clown of the paddock, I've been told that once when he was only a few months old he snuck up on someone fixing a fence and stole their pliers! He galloped off with them and they were never seen again. He is forever chasing the other horses and prancing around showing off. He is a half arabian half appaloosa so he has personality abounds!

Gus is a difficult horse to say the least, he is very head-strong and unpredictable at times. He is very skittish and spooks when nothing's there, the scariest things in his opinion are plastic bags, coloured poles and tarp as most of those things flap around or are bright colours, which scares this head-shy boy. Once you get to know Gus you will see how much of a teddy bear he really is and he just does the most adorable things.
Gus is a natural born leader who loves to take control and be at front of the group when anything happens but doesn't make a great leader due to his fear of almost everything. You would think that Gus is a very independent horse but no, he hates being on his own and making decisions; he feels the need to ask everyone around him if what ever he is doing is okay.

Short Story:
My eyes followed the fireflies as I cantered quickly through the dead, dry brown grass. It crunched beneath my solid hooves and it was like trying to be quiet in a room that echoes with every sound you make. I could feel their eyes on me, their red, demon like eyes that seemed to jump out of the darkness like a lion hunting it's grey in the hot African sun. My body burned from how far I had gone, I couldn't stop now, I had to keep going, I had to reach the other side.
I finally slowed to a trot when I felt safe, I was on new land and it was strange. It smelt weird, like fire and smoke but I could see any. It was comforting and made me sleepy so I stood beneath a large tree and closed my tired eyes. I was free for now and I needed to rest so that s just what I did and as soon as I heard the birds start to sing their morning songs I was off again, across the river and over the mountain I traveled to find my lost brother, my brother the snow.
With hope in my heart I walked on and over days and weeks I kept going upwards towards the sky, it was colder up here during the night and I had to find pockets of warmth in the cold. The air was crisp and clear, it was cold as I breathed it in and warm as i blew it out once again; I don't know how long I had been wandering for but I had gone through the heat and it was starting to become cold again so I decided to head home. The temperature bit my skin, making it cold and numb; I looked up at the grey clouds that beetled overhead, there was bound to be a storm coming and it was bound to bush the trees around like they were nothing.
It must have been a couple of hours before the wind started to howl and try to push me off the ground, I could smell it now, it was familiar. Maybe if I walked faster I could get out of the path of the storm and find cover for my cold body but it was getting dark and becoming harder to see in the pitch black as the clouds forbid the moon and stars from shedding any light on us mortals beneath them. And as I crossed the final river, the first flake of snow dropped down onto my nose, my brother had returned.

Bear isn't one of the most toughest bashmoors around, that's for certain. When you usually think of a bear, you think of something that is strong and fierce, but not this bear. This bear is another type of bear, he is a teddy bear. He loves to snuggle up to his handlers and loves to be petted and he also loves giving people wet slobbery kisses. He would rather be a friend than a foe and hate it when others fight and he much prefers his nice warm (or in the summer air conditioned) stall where he knows what everything is doing. Bear also gets frightened very easily and definitely not a bashmoor to go on a wild expedition. He would rather sit back and relax, well try to anyways. Bear can also be quite shy to strangers and prefers to go hide in his stall or out with the other bashmoors he knows when a stranger comes to the stable. When Bear isn't relaxing in luxury in his stall he usually is talking with Rain and she is usually the one who also is able to calm him when he gets really scared of something he thought he saw or heard. He also likes to watch Draugur practice show jumping and someday wishes to be as good as Draugur. Bear does dressage, but he also does show jumping and he really enjoys doing show jumping. But he doesn't really get the competitive part of the competitions, he likes to do them because he has fun, not because he wants some fancy old ribbon that he can't really do anything with.

Like I've said before, Bear loves talking with Rain. She always is so calming and always calms his nerves when he gets really nervous.Bear loves going on walks with her through the pastures. He loves being next to her calmness and not feeling afraid anymore and actually enjoying the world, knowing that there is someone to help keep him safe. He also likes when she tells stories of when she came to SHS, being the very first Bashmoor and how its changed quite a bit since she's been there. Rain likes the attention she gets from Bear and how he always likes to talk to her and now she actaully can't wait for more Bashmoors to come and like she told Bear, "I think I would quite enjoy the young foals as well".
Draugur
Bear invys this show jumping champ and loves hearing and sometimes watching how he soars high above the ground then landing gracefully back on earth. Bear loves hearing about this spirited stallions adventures and what he has accomplished in show jumping. Both Rain and Draugur are Bear best friends and he loves having fun with them. Though he does like to have a lot of quite time to himself, because if you don't let him have his alone time, your in for a long day because that's what gets him ready for the day and that the time when he likes to calm himself and just spend some alone time. After that, he is ready for the day and for all the snuggles he could get. But his alone time usually vary, and it is not always at the beginning of the day, sometimes he will have it at the end of the day to rewind and cool down from a long day, or somedays he doesn't need any alone time at all.

Bear loves this quote and he sure does try doing it. Because his Courage definitely doesn't always roar, most of the time he will just tell himself "I will try again and get better at it". It is like him with show jumping. Bear is just a beginner at show jumping and works everyday, slowly getting better and someday he wishes he could be as good as Draugur.
