|| Checkpoint Four: Defense chosen

The vixen's eyes widened as her gaze fell on a beast, its massive size more than intimidating. Ini could feel her muscles locking up in fear, the creature before her baring its teeth in what seemed like a warning. Narrowing her eyes, the vixen returned the beast's glare, her ears swiveling backwards to brush the back of her neck. Baring her teeth in return, Ini lowered her head, her tail switching back and forth anxiously behind her. The animal's stance, ridiculous size, bared teeth and terrifying antlers sent Ini's hackles upwards, but she wasn't one to run away in cowardice. If she turned and ran, who's to say the creature wouldn't follow her anyways? Confronting it wouldn't mean that she would lose her path and precious time. So Ini bared her own teeth, eyes narrowed into glaring slits, and uttered the most ferocious glare that she could muster.

Checkpoint 5:

The creature attacked, but it was not looking for a hard fight. In fact it was looking for its cub. The creature swipes its claws at you in anger and fear from missing her cub. She pushes you with her horns and her anger only seems to grow. Suddenly, she pauses and makes a moaning sound as she sees her cub crawl out of the bushes behind you. The she-creature pushes past you and runs for her cub. They both disappear into the brush and trees. You are probably exhausted, but luckily for you, you are not far far from the camp.

Ini's fur bristled, her nerves on edge in preparation for a battle. When the beast suddenly abandoned the fight in favor of caring for her cubs, however, a sigh escaped the vixen while a feeling of empathy swept through her. The creature had only been looking for her children, not seeking a fight just for the sake of it. She almost felt bad for intruding on the animal's territory and making her feel threatened, though such an aggressive reaction didn't seem entirely necessary or called for, the thought almost bringing a laugh to Ini's expression. Exhausted and sore, the fox sighed once more and continued picking her way across the terrain with the intent of reaching camp as quickly as possible, her eyes lidded heavily with fatigue.
