I got vaporeon from pure luck! I am so excited! I got her by evolving eevee! Without putting Rainer as her name , (well that's what I heard you have to put that as her name) is that true? Because I got her without it.

it isn't actually random. You have to look at the attacks, and the second one will identify which eeveeloution it'll be. Here's the list:
Swift - Vaporeon
Dig - Flareon
Body slam - Jolteon
I've figured this out, because anytime I've evolved any one of these three, they always have that attack. I haven't used the name thing yet, but I'm sure it's accurate from the way people use it all the time.

Although it's a good chance, this method was inaccurate and has been debunked multiple times. The only known way of guaranteeing is with the names, but it can still be random.

Good job! I also got my Vaporeon out of good luck, it's my strongest Pokemon now

the only reason I brought up my method was because I heard the names only work once per player. Whereas, even though it can still be random, knowing the attacks and evolving for a certain Eeveeloution will work time and time again.

I JUST caught a persian, and I wasn't taking any chances. I literally shoved a razzberry into his mouth and threw a pokeball as fast as I could. I was speachless the entire time.

Unpopular Opinion...
I don't think people should be freaking out over Niantic's bugs and glitches. That's something that happens with a new game, and when so many people join at once it's not uncommon for servers to be overloaded.
My boyfriend's brother is a Software Designer (or w/e the title really is lol) and he's said that it's more than likely that Niantic is just having troubles keeping up and weren't expecting it to be so popular so fast.
We also have to keep in mind that Niantic is a team of like, 20 people.
So complaining that they aren't doing things fast enough for your liking is a lil bit rude because they're doing the best that they can with only 20 people to make sure that millions are satisfied.

More than likely, the bugs and everything will be fixed. But coding doesn't take overnight and with a game as complex as this, there's bound to be bugs and glitches in the beginning. It'll take time but I'm sure they will fix everything.
