Jennifer smiled softly and hugged him as tight as possible.
"ah, my little boy, it's so good to hold you in my arms again..." she looled up at him and smirked. "though you're my big boy now.mister, you are tall!" winking, she stroked a streak of hair out of his face and smiled, a proud sparkling in her eyes.
a noise from behind made her turn around and laugh. Rey, Jack and James were playing jack's favorite game, and as always the little boy was hilariously good.
she turned back to jim and sat down in the grass, pulling him down beside her. "do you even have an idea how incredibly proud i am of you? i was so afraid that you might end up like dad when i...hmmm, had to leave. you were still so young... but look what you have become! trust me when i say no mother has ever been as proud as i am.you have such a wonderful family, darling." she smirked and softly hit his shoulder. "rachel was talking to my grave after you had left. she said beauiful things about you. she said you have my heart. and she said she has never seen such shining blue eyes before...and that you're something special. she said you make her feel safe. as if nothing could ever happen to her when you're with her. you know...love is something very special. but you two- that's even more than love. i have never seen a lovr like yours. or a heart like yours. she said you my heart, but yours is even stronger. i am so proud of you, my little one!" a small tear ran down her cheek as she hugged him tightly.

Mac smirked and pointed at what he was wearing right now. surgery coat...actually...we'ren't the open on the back?! "crap!" he laughed. "i'm still wearing that stupid open-back-coat. i should relly change." his mist covered him, and as it vanished, he was wearing his favorite clothes again- blue jeans, white shirt, silvery-grey jacket. "ahh, bettrr."

"i know, i know", Athena sighed. "but actually only jim. mac never did that."
she softly kissed his neck and put the syringe back into her bag. looking at the pack of cigarettes in her hand, she frowned. "i'm stupid. i should really stop this...ir maybe not. urgh..."
looking up at steve once more, she smirked. "you're so great, steve... and i really don't deserve you, like, at all." she cuddled against him tightly, closing her eyes. "And still you're here with me. i don't get it."

A tear ran down Jim's cheek. It felt so good to hug his mother. And all the things she said to him. He was still her little boy - even though he was much taller than she was.
And then he had to think about what his mother said that Rachel had said to her about him. She said that he made her feel safe. And that was something which made Jim...glow? He didn't know how else to explain. There was this warm feeling. Was it joy, pride, love? He didn't know. All he could say was it made him glow. One of his main goals was to make Rachel feel safe. He had promised himself - the day after they had come together - that he would make her feel safe when he was around. She shouldn't be afraid anymore. Never again. Because he was there to protect her from any danger. He was there to keep her safe. And now he knew Rachel indeed felt safe around him.
And there was just no word to explain how he felt about that right now.
"Mom...I don't know what to say...", he mumbled, looking into her eyes. "All those years I've...you know...all those years I've been thinking 'Would she be proud of what I've become?'. And all those years I've been thinking that you wouldn't, because...I just...", he sighed, smiled softly and just hugged her again. Grinning slightly, he added, "And you know what? You'll get two more grandchildren in about 8 months!"

Hunter laughed. "It's a shame!", she said, giggling, and softly hit his shoulder. "I loved looking at the open back. And your nice butt!", winking, she kissed him and laughed even louder. A woman who had just passed them had heard that and was now giggling as well. "Ups, I think she heard that."

Steve sighed. "Oh, I thought both of them...well, Jim is clean now - isn't he? So you can ask him how he did it, right?" Softly taking the pack of cigarettes out of her hand, he kissed her and smiled. "Well, here again: Jim used to smoke...about three to four packages a day - if I remember correctly. And I haven't seen him smoke anymore. No idea how he did that, but...if he can, you can too." He softly ran his hand through her hair, smirking. "And as always: I am there! I'll just hide them all from you, hehehe!"

"I know!", Jennifer said with a proud smile. "i have been closer than you think, all the time. i have never been far away." she softlystroked his cheek, smirking. "you know, if you look closely, you can see us everywhere. remember my favorite flowers? Corn flowers?" she pushed a branch of a bush aside. there was a big patch of cornflowers on the ground, between the branches. "and can you hear it? between all the chirping of the birds, there has always been one, singing Jack's favorite melody. And when you walked through the house,did you notice that pencil laying around on your desk? the one with the chewed end? you never chewed on pencils while thinking. but remember eho arrived at eagis with a chewed pencil sticking out of his wild, messy, silver beard?" she winked and put one arm around his shoulders, ehich was raher complicated since he was much bigger than her. "and if course i am proud of you, my little one. I am proud of you, i am always right there for you and i love you. and no matter how old or big you are, xou will always be my wonderful son. the little boy who once sat on my lap, his tiny hands even too small to play the chirds on my guitar."

Mac laughed out loud, softly pushing hunter. "okay hun, i am starving. so either we go to the cafeteria, ir a restaurant, or i'm just gonna eat you up!" he winked. "an your butt is much nicer."

"good idea", Athena laughed abd kissed him for a long time. "hide em all, but don't take my lighter...that one belonged to grappa." she stood up, smirking, made a handstand and kissed him again. "i am sooo overpowered right now. please tll me there's a place eith puncing bags around!"

"but at first you gotta teach me how to build a harmonica!", Chris chuckled. "i just hope i won't mess everything up...i always mess up." she frowned for a second and then smiled again.

Jamie chuckled silently and poked Scatty's nosetip. "you of course, Scat." his eyes widened for a second. "oh by the way! since you seem to collect...basically everything i brought something from my last trip to the past you might be interested in to see."
he quickly went into his room and came back with something wrapped in a warm towel. he unwrapped it carefully and revealed an egg. "it's a velociraptor. don't worry, when it's raised by us right from when it hatches it will be totally tame." he winked and softly ran his fingers over the egg. "she soon will hatch."

Ben smiled and nodded "sure I will, all we need is the blue prints in by bag at my camping area.....I have a lot of blue prints...." ben put his head to the side "i bet you won't mess this up when I am around"

Scatty rolled her eyes and smiled with laugh now relaxing. when with curiosity she watched Jamie go to his room to get something and when he came back she saw the egg her eyes sparkled with excitement "ohhh! I bet she be awesome when she grows up!.....wait...do want me to help you raise this baby dino?" then she looked at the egg and smirked "too early to think of names?"

Chris smirked happily and softly hit his shoulder. "well then let's go to your camping are and get your bag, no?"
she turned into a panther and then into diamond, her panther form now glittering from the black diamonds it was made of.

"By far not too early", Jamie smirled. "She's already late. she should have hatched yesterday, so it surely won't take long anymore."
he softly stroked the egg, smiling.
"i was thinking of something like Naola. that means 'beautiful' and 'charming'."

Jim smiled softly. "I was already wondering why there were corn flowers in Vegas.", he said, and turned to look at Jack who was giggling evily - he was probably winning the game they were playing. Turning to his mother again, he frowned slightly. "Mom...aren't you mad at...James? He's had another kid with another woman and...then once again. You know, Macon, and then Jack." His frown got deeper. "Wait. That didn't make sense. Let me put it like this: Do you see Jack as your own son?"

Hunter blushed and hit his side with her hip. "If you can catch me, you may eat my butt!", she said, giggled and started running towards the corridor which lead to the cafeteria.

Steve nodded. "Alrighty! I'll hide them all.", he said, winked and lay down in the grass. "Nope, not here in Whittier. In Anchorage tough." He suddenly jumped up, grinning. "I got a perfect idea!"

"yes, Jim", Jennifer said with a soft smile, watching Jack for a moment. "he's just as much my child as you and Athena are. and i am not mad at your father."
she lay down in the grass, looking at the clouds, arms crossed behind her head.
"you know, death is an interesting thing. you devrlop some kind of deep inner peace. makes it much easier to think straight. your dad never was himself after the demon took him over. It wadn't him who betrayed me, or killed me, it wasn't him who tortured you and your siblings. so why should i be mad?"
she sighed and looked at jim with a sad frown. "i told him to kill me, Jim."

Macon walked after her, Noah holding his hand and shook his head with a silent chuckle.
"Hun, we are at a hispital here, not on a playground. and Noah can't run that fast. and carrying him ehile running is kinda hard eith only one hand."

Athena smirked and took his hands.
"what? what idea? tell me!"
her eyes were sparkling exitedly. this place was so great. she could already see herself raising her child here.

Jim frowned deeply, blinking a few times, wondering if he had just really heard that.
"W-w-what?", he mumbled, shaking his head. "No, no no you didn't do that. You wouldn't. You wouldn't just...leave...on purpose. No."

Hunter turned and started running backwards, laughing evily. "Hah! Excuses, excuses!", she called, giggling. "You're just too lazy to pick Noah up and run!" She stopped and waited for Macon to arrive, before she kissed his cheek. "You didn't catch me. So, you're not allowed to eat me! Or my butt!", she whispered to his ear, kissed his neck and giggled again. "I'm hungry. What do they have here?", she asked herself and started walking towards the cafeteria.

Steve smirked. "Wanna see a glacier?", he asked, standing up again, softly pulling her with him.
Athena was the one. She was so perfect...even better than perfect!

Jennifer sighed sadly and put a hand on jim's shoulder.
"i was ill, jim. very very ill. it was painful. and it became worse every day.our family always has had problems with demons, and i was no exception. i had been raised to lock it away, but when i became ill, it weakened me so much that i lost control more and more with every day. the demon i was holding inside was...there are no words to describe it. it was far, far more cruel than the one you are holding. and i knew if i lost control over it even once...it would instantly destroy everything. not only this family. but literally everything. i once lost control, only a little bit, and...well, you know 9/11. i realized that i could only protect you and the rest of the world from it, if it died. and for that, i had to die as well..." she looked away, tears in her eyes. "i didn't want to leave you, darling. neither did i want to leave athena or your father. but...you know? believe me, i tried to fight it! i tried everything. i'm so sorry, Jim...youhave no idea how it hurt to see you suffering all the years..."

"well, not the gratest stuff", Mac laughed, kissing hunters cheek. "but they have a nice frappee here. oh and good cheese soup. gosh how i love that stuff!"

"w-wait...", Athena mumbled, turning super serious. "Steve, before we marry i have to tell you something. i should have told you months ago, but...i was afraid. and actually i'm nervous as hell right now."
the sound of a motor was heared and soon, a car parked nearby. A woman came out of it, holding hands with a man and a little girl, maybe a year or so old.
as the girl saw Athena, she smiled widely and ran towards her. Athena picked her up and softly kissed her forehead. "ahhh, i missed you so much, my darling!"
she turned to steve again.
"Look Lilly, that's Steve. i told you about him, remember?" the little girl exitedly shook her head.
athena took a deep breath.
"Steve, darling, this is Lilly... my daughter."

Jim took a deep breath.
"You...I...", he didn't know what to say anymore. He just knew that he somehow wanted to run.
"9/11 was your fault?" >>Oh my god. She's killed 2997 people.<<
"And...you...you forced him to kill you?", he looked away, still nor believing what he had just heard. "All those years I blamed him for your death. But you just...you asked him to kill you...."

Hunter frowned slightly. "I've never had cheese soup before. Never have had a frappee as well...sooo I'll take that! What do you want? The same?"

Steve blinked a few times. "D-d-d-daughter?!" He felt how everything started turning. "D-daughter??"
And he blacked out.
