I don't like any animal being hunted, especially endangered species. If it's to protect humans then, heck, go ahead. But wolves rarely attack people, so I don't see the point. Just relocate them. That way the humans are safe, but so are the wolves/coyotes.

Wait where is it legal to hunt wolves for sport? I've heard of it before but I didn't know it was legal? (Unless it's not feel free to correct me)

I LOVE WOLVES SO FRIGGIN MUCH!!! They are a beautiful, big, brave, and wild canid! But I'm not going to lie, most types of wolves aren't endangered. There are only about 6 that are, the rest have a stable enough population for people to hunt them. The most commonly referred to wolf is the timber/gray wolf, which, despite what many people say, is NOT endangered. They're considered of least concern by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and they pretty much are of least concern. The US alone has 9,000 wolves, most of which are probably the common timber wolf, and their numbers are actually increasing. Therefore, even though I love wolves to the point I have a wolf themed Chrome browser, a toy red wolf on top of my computer, a 3D wolf picture in my room, a non-3D wolf picture in my room, have a screensaver slideshow which includes some (but not all) wolf pictures, actually changed the icon of my Chrome browser to a howling wolf, actually renamed my Chrome browser "Wolf Wide Web," have a nearly life-sized wolf toy, have had a dream for a while now to own a pure wolf/wolves, and am sitting on a wolf blanket/bed cover thing right now, I fully support the legal hunting and trapping of wolves.

It's almost a guilt-tripping tactic, really, because pretty much the only time I see it brought up is when they're campaigning against hunting.

Me too. There are places that previously had grey wolf populations that no longer do and the ecosystems have adapted. They went extinct there yes, but the environments have adjusted over many years and grey wolves would no longer fit into those areas.

I think there's a hell of a lot of deer in the UK, though. I'm in the islands of Scotland so there aren't any wild deer here but I hear a lot about people on the mainland hitting them in cars and stuff; I'm pretty sure my auntie who lives on the mainland could have died one night when she ran one over in the dark. Though I'm not entirely sure, since I don't venture off the island too often

I am hoping that they bring the wolf season back in Wisconsin so that I can apply for a tag. They had one and then ended it pretty much right away.

p.s if anyone wants to scream "omg youre a hunter thats terrible no omg wolves are life dont hurt them"

I wanna see you say the same thing when there are no deer because wolves (and black bear but we have a season for them so it helps) kill all of the fawns and pretty much anything they can get a hold of. Did you know, wolves will kill for sport? (not just surplus killing) Yup. Imagine bambi running around and savagely killed just for fun and then the wolf leaves them there because they arent hungry considering they just ate bambi's 12 cousins.

I think education about the hunter's, farmer's, land owner's and livestock owner's troubles with wolves would really show another side to the debate.

I personally think that animals (not just wolves) cant be evil. They don't understand "evil" or "good". Wolves don't think things like "look there's a cute deer I'm going to kill it for fun". They do surplus killing but I don't think they do it for the joy. Oh and I don't really agree with any kind of hunting. Wolves are my favourite animal and I would love to see one out in its natural habitat. Some people don't realise how lucky they are to see these animals free and in the wild (Unless your being attacked by one obviously).

That's my opinion anyway.
