I think so too, but then I back tracked and looked around and it looks like the official website, so.. My doubt's come from that.

This has caught my attention.

While both sites look pretty similar there are some noticable differences like there is no 'change region' option nor is there a link to customer service at the bottom of the page of the 'pokemonpromo' site. Clicking the navigation links at the top of the 'pokemonpromo' site takes you to the offical site. I also cannot find a single link to the 'pokemonpromo' site on the official one.

The most interesting part to me is the HTML of both pages. There are some identical sections of HTML in their sources. I also checked the source of every page on the official site and there is no link to the 'pokemonpromo' site. To me it looks like the person behind the 'pokemonpromo' site copied and pasted the HTML of the offical site, changed a few things and easily had a fake site that looks legit.

The two sites are also hosted on different servers by the look of it.
Edit: Different IP addresses with different locations. One is in San Francisco and the other is in New York. Don't know what to make of it all but it doesn't sit right with me.

Guys, if it asks you to take a survey it's a scam. They'll most likely make you put in your credit card number or something. Also Niantic would've announced if legendaries were out yet. So please DO NOT go through with it, it's all a scam, no matter how pretty the site is.

So much is happening right now, yet so little.

The new update was a disappointment, to say the least. I'll start off by saying that I'm glad the maps are back to normal. For a few days a lot of detail was missing. It was a simple fix, but knowing Niantic I had doubts on whether they would actually bother doing anything about it.

I was hoping that this update would include a fix for the tracking system. It was a let down to see that rather than being fixed, the footstep icons were removed entirely. I understand that they removed it to prevent confusion amongst new players, and I'm not mad about them being gone specifically, I just think it shouldn't take this long for a new tracking system to be implemented and I am worried that they will try to make tracking a feature that you have to pay for. I know that's a rather pessimistic way of thinking, but let's be fair, Niantic have done nothing but insult it's player-base with their lack of communication; this would only be the icing on the cake.

When a game's fanbase literally makes and develops their own features for the game, the actual developers of that game are hitting the jackpot! The fans are telling them what they want and they even have it all laid out! Niantic refuses to listen to their players' suggestions, some of which are absolutely fantastic. I know many people are quitting the game because of this reason.

The worst of all of this is that while they leave us without an official tracking system, they also pour all of their effort into shutting down the fan-made tracking apps, which are our only hope of finding specific Pokemon. Right now we'd be lucky to even track down a freaking Pidgey. The only thing we can do in the game is drop lures and grind XP from evolving. They completely destroyed the core aspect of the game, finding Pokemon!

Meanwhile I am seeing users that are blatantly location spoofing (really nobody at this stage in the game has enough ~3000 CP Dragonites to place in 10 gyms, yet somehow...), but Niantic would rather punish those who make useful features for the game than those who outright cheat. This is complete and utter stupidity.

On a less important note, I'm a bit salty that the PoGo Plus is being delayed by over a month, and I don't like the new UI for the inventory pages. The bolded text looks clunky, messy, and just outright ugly. Bolded letters should be used sparingly, not as a default. Thin fonts are elegant and look clean, making the page look more natural. Oh well...


PS: On a brighter note (because I know this post is overall quite negative), I hatched a 10k egg and got a ~1800 CP Snorlax! I ran it through an IV checker and it came to about 96% perfection... Maxed out it reaches around 2100 CP. It's my best Pokemon yet. c:

i literally parked in front of a restaurant for two hours to beat a gym and five minutes after i left it was taken over

Soooo excited!! Caught a Pikachu and a Weezer today.. have about 200 poké balls as well.. evolved quite a few pokemon.. overall a great day BUT I over did it
