WERE TALKING ABOUT UKULELES YES I AM SO HAPPY
i have a ukulele that i love more than pretty much anything in the world. it's a sea green kala makala shark and it's beautiful. i've been playing for just under a year (my brother and i both got ukes after we saw top in concert, he got a powder blue kala makala dolphin) and honestly it's such an easy instrument to learn! most songs are made up of the same four chords and you can use pretty much whatever strum pattern you want to make a song your own and honestly it's so much fun.
if anyone here is looking for a cheap uke, i sudgest kala makala sharks/dolphins. kala is a great brand and, from what i understand, makala is their cheaper sub-brand. sharks and dolphins are about 50 USD on amazon, they come with great strings (neither my brother or i have ever broken one, despite some pretty intense playing, and they stretch out pretty nicely. compare that to my guitar, where i broke a string within the first six months of playing.) and htey come in really pretty colors.
also, to all my ukulele players, if you're looking for some good uke tutorials, look up the ukulele teacher on youtube. he has a bunch of great tutorials (a good fourth of which are top songs!) and even though he can't sing, he does a really good job of teaching new strum patterns and strange chord changes.
