Like, have you ever seen Flight Rising. Ever.
People complain about the rarest items in the game and how "expensive" they are and how the staff should re-release them, even though they have said multiple times they will never do that. The drama begins, everyone cries to a bit, then it suddenly disappears and that's it. No one cares dude, this happens like every year. The game didn't end over this, either.

"B-but Flight Rising has a different way of monetization!!1"
Yeah well... how can I say this, you're literally complaining about the same thing above since it's actually the same thing, just like how i'm wasting my time basically typing* the same things. Honestly if you sincerely care about economy this much and making money, you could either:

a. make one of your villagers a shifty, make a random drawing of a character, shove it on the shifty as a paintie and then auction it for either FC, FD or both.
b. i don't know, how about don't make the potion? you can literally make the same amount that you complain so much about from selling seeds whilst simuntaneously hoarding them and snipping cheap ones on the stall.
c, which is optional. give the potion away to someone if you don't care about it.
