"No, I can't." Scout replied, only half joking. "Anyways, you did do it, it was amazing! You could do agility trials, really." He wagged his tail furiously, head held high, proud for his lady. "I'm not always so perfect at these things, y'know. Someday you'll have to show me how to do a bunch of YOUR things." He pushed open a door, but pushed too hard. The door flung open and Scout landed hard on the ground. When he stood, his belly had lots of scratches from the hard floor, the rubble, glass fragments, and much more. It was a wonder why the building hadn't been demolished; it had been deserted for about 20 years now. The building had been worn down, tables collapsed, wood rotting [and falling wood!], and everything else imaginable. Scout grunted and stood. Drops of blood dripped off him, hitting the ground with a small splosh. It looked like Scout was raining a bit of blood. "I'm fine, we need to keep going." He walked as well as he could, not hurt much by the blood and stuff. He was used to it. On the inside it hurt, but not searing, or stabbing pain. Scout was tough, and pain tolerant after his many years of...... Well, stuff. He walked along, the blood splattering the ground. It had let up the flow a bit, but it was still dripping nonetheless. It made a pathway. The cuts weren't too bad, but they could be dangerous. Oh well, Scout thought. it's not TOO bad, I'll make it. Just ignore it.... works every time. I've gotten much worse. Anyhow, we need to rest soon. Lyric's probably as tired as I am... He walked into another room, with a strangled door. Scout expertly put his front paws on the counter, and with his teeth, he yanked open the refrigerator door. It was a miracle that thing didn't collapse already. Inside the fridge was a dogs dream. It was stocked with meats, but you could see blood and wrappers where other dogs had already eaten some. Scout carefully put his paws back on the floor, regaining total balance as he did so. He reached his nose into the freezer without a word and pulled out a large T-bone steak. "This way, the steak is big enough for the both of us. Doesn't have too much fat, calories, or sugar, and a lot of good protein so we've got to eat all of it. Plus, it tastes so good. We're gonna go somewhere nice." With that, he began to pad off, using the back door this time. Another dog was down the street, but it quickly disappeared as a car drove by. Scout didn't even glance up as the car passed by; he was used to the sounds of these loud, frightful machines. He stepped through an alleyway, then another, then turned right a few times, then one left. He crawled up a small ladder that was attached to what appeared to be a fancy hotel. He climbed then reached a flight, then climbed again. At the top they had climbed about 5 flights and 11 small ladders. Scout carefully stepped onto the roof, flowers all around. It was a beautiful hotel, in the middle of the city. From there, the sunset was a beauty. "I love you." Scout whispered, sitting down in a patch of clovers.
