It was a peaceful night, the moon shone, there were
no clouds in the sky, and one lone warrior was hunting for
the Clan. A shadow pressed over Addershade, and he angrily
looked around for the cat who'd disturbed his hunt. 'Hey, I
was about to ca- oh, hello.' he stopped, seeing the cat and
relaxing just a little. 'Can't sleep? Neither can I. It feels like
the whole Clan relies on you sometimes.' The cat said.
Addershade nodded in agreement. 'That's why I hunt at night,
it's more peaceful and the world is at rest.'
'I don't suppose you'd come walk with me for a bit?' These
words surprised Addershade, but he nodded in agreement.
'S... Sure. Wait.. Why are we going to the twoleg nest?'
'Don't worry.' The cat soothed, jumping onto a fence. 'I
want to show you this beautiful view.' The talk of the killer
blocked out the low growl of a dog. As Addershade got
distracted with the stars, the cat pushed them gently, and
Addershade yowled in fear and pain as the dog leapt up
eagerly, snapping and ripping at the warrior. All that was
left that the cats would find were some tufts of pale and
brown fur, drifting into the forest. After all, no cat would
dare go into the garden of a twoleg to check, right?

Crowpaw woke up and yawned. Padding outside, he frowned as he saw the low fresh-kill supply. Hadn't Addershade hunted last night, like he always does? He poked his head inside the warrior den, looking for the brown warrior. Having no luck, he poked his head into Snowstar's den and softly meowed. "Snowstar? Are you awake? Addershade's gone missing."

Silverwing rose from her mossy nest. She looked across the den, and saw Addershades nest was empty. She knew he hunted at night, but he was usually back by now. What had happened? She left the den and started to look for a cat in whom she could ask if they knew where Addershade was.

Daisynose yawned, blinking awake. Seeing the kits where still asleep, she padded out of the nursery blinking at the fresh-kill pile. "Weird," she murmured to herself, glancing around for someone to talk to.
