Scarletflower sighed, well, I tried, she didn't expect anyone to be optimistic during these hard times. She removed the piece of wood from the leaf and rolled the stone towards the base of the warrior's den, maybe I'll go out alone this time... she decided. Pinepaw padded into the forest after being sent to look for prey. Of course he didn't wander far from camp, as he was only an apprentice, but at least he knew where she was going. He didn't find anyone willing to go today, either... he stopped all of the sudden, what... he wrinkled his nose, is that smell? Is it StreamClan?! He thought suddenly, shaking in fear. He was out alone and had never even seen a StreamClanner, let alone know what they smelled like, "C-come out! Wh-wherever you are! D-d-don't hide, please don't hurt me." He choked on his works as his teeth chattered. What am I saying...

» Ember heard a small voice as he came upon a clearing. The tom shrunk behind a tree and poked his head behind a small bush to look at the small cat. He cleared his throat with a cough that echoed through the trees. He sat behind the tree and began grooming his fur. "I'm not hiding, you can come find me" He replied calmly, a smirk plastered on his face.

Pinepaw didn't trust this, he looked around with concern, debating whether or not to make a run for it or be brave and face the cat. He took a few steps forward, cracking a stick under his paw, making himself jump back. "Er, um... are you a StreamClanner? What are you doing on StormClan t-territory?" He gulped and hoped that he made the right choice to talk to the cat.

» Ember chuckled and smiled. "No, no I'm not". He thought for a moment and then a smirk arose on his face. The large tom turned quickly around the tree and faced the cat. He leapt up and tackled the small tom, all while baring his teeth.

Pinepaw gasped and then froze up, startled, eyes wide, this obviously wasn't a StreamClan cat. He then began to stutter aimlessly, "I-I... uh, I..." his teeth remained chattering, he then tried to pull away from the bigger cat. He then attempted to make a run for it.

» Ember rolled around on the ground laughing. "Oh you crack me up pipsqueak" He mewed at the small cat. He paused from his outbreak for a moment. "You didn't think I would actually hurt you pip, did you?" The tom smiled at him with a sort of respect.

The smaller cat blinked and cocked his head to one side, "What, why... why are you here? What's your name?" When he saw the cat's smile a bit of fear was swept away.

» Ember stood to his paws and lightly shook out his pelt. "The name's Ember, but you can call me, Em, Emb, Ber, any of the above, all of the above.." He stopped for a moment to take a breath "Really anything, I don't mind.. especially because I'm calling you Pip. Short for Pipsqueak of course".
