Congratulations on the baby! I'm glad she'll be getting a lovely home with you! <3
Definitely make sure you have a hedgie vet fund... I've had my baby for a little over a month and I've already spent about 400 dollars at the vet for a wellness check/treating mites/treating an upper respiratory infection.
Definitely check out hedgehog central and the hedgehog welfare society for any information. Hedgehog central is my go-to forum to figure out food/diet.
Thea's wheel, which is amazing, is a Carolina Storm Wheel. Silent, big, and no ridges/gaps for poop or toes to get stuck in!
Don't fall for the special "hedgehog kibble". In my opinion, feeding a mix of quality catfood is a much healthier and economical choice. Hedgehog food is generally more expensive and you get less of it. A 5 pound bag of catfood will last your hedgie a LONG time.
(I've actually seen ingredients in 'hedgehog kibble' that are on the 'don't feed' list.)

Thea has gotten so much bigger. I was so shocked to see her after three weeks away <3 She's gotten a bit more social too, which makes me so happy!
I believe her mite situation has been cleared ^^

I'm glad your mite problem is gone! <3
Jack's been on steriods and a new food and his wobbliness is almost gone! I'm not sure which is helping him more, but he's not falling over and he's not dragging himself around to eat/drink. He'll stumble, but it's nowhere as bad as it was before. He's being weened off the steroids, as he's almost done with them and he's gonna go back to the vet in the next few weeks.
I was so scared a few weeks ago that I'd have to put him down, but he's gonna live happily to see his 4th birthday (which is on the 28th). c=

Dia- aww what a cutie <3
Soft butch- welcome!
The breeder gave us ruperts birthdate when we first got him, and that day is today!
Rupert is one year old and still trooping!
On that note i want to do something special, are there any "hedgehog cake" recipes any of you guys know that I could make for him?

parapluie- I once made my dog cookies out of a baby food and some oats. You might be able to find a modification to make a teeny cake for a hedgehog. I think I might have seen somewhere that you could do cornstarch and a plain baby food and just bake it just like that. -shrug-
Or you could freeze a dollop of the baby food and stick a mealworm on top of it.
Thea really likes the gerbers 2nd stage turkey and gravy food. It's just turkey and water I believe. Maybe some preservative, but nothing awful. Other owners recommend.
Happy birthday Rupert c:
