Cats are fab stress-relievers. Sometimes if I need a break, I'll go to my room and cry with my cat nearby. Pickles is very understanding :3

Hey, so I posted a few times before on the old chat, explaining how I was hoping to get a female kitten in the future, well it's been a while and I finally got my baby! Her names Nova and she is 18 weeks I think today, I've had her since she was 8 weeks and she is my cuddly angel! She is half ragdoll, her mother was a pedigree, who accidently got pregnant, and since I was ready for a kitten at a time we got her. According to the vet she is charcoal and white but I'm not sure charcoal is how I would describe it, it's more silvery lilac but not actual lilac of course. Her eyes seem to change colour everyday at first they were a blueish grey colour and then they went yellow and now I can see some green coming through. She has had all her vaccinations and flea/worm treatments. She is living as an indoor cat and we have already started her harness training and she is allowed in the garden supervised however I know I can't do this forever as the fence is not high enough for her not to escape when she's older. At the moment she has no intrest in escaping the garden but one day when the hormones kick in she will. However when I try to keep her inside all she does is constantly meow and whine to get out the house, she tries to get out of the windows and my family criticise the idea of an indoor cat as it seems unnatural to them. I've tried to explain how easy it is for a cat to get killed out there either by predators or cars and both my parents know this because all there cats were killed by cars apart from one who fell down the stairs. But they refuse to listen and Nova's constant meowing and whining to be outside isn't helpful, so I was wondering is there anything else I can do to try and keep her inside or stop her meowing?

Though I do prefer the idea of cats being outside, I'm sure I can come up with a few ideas..
Maybe get some toys for her? Something to distract her and keep her busy. If you want her to be an indoor cat, then just make sure to take extra precautions and that every door is shut properly. Toys will most likely keep her entertained, I expect. As for the windows, maybe get a lock or something to keep them shut?

My cats are outdoor and indoor, and we haven't had too many accidents. Other than Lenney getting into one fight before, but he wasn't heavily injured. The road is pretty safe and no one drives irresponsibly, so we have no worries about that. The only problem is with Pickles, dear old senile cat, who decides that lying in the middle of the road is a good idea. But we haven't had any accidents with that, luckily. Arty and Lenney are pretty road-cautious, Lenney tends to sleep outside no matter what the weather is like and Arty sometimes pays visits to the next door neighbors, whether or not their huge Malamute is in the house.. But the dog is so calm and friendly, he doesn't have that signature prey-drive.

Pickles tends to sleep inside a lot of the time. Anything to get away from the boys who spend most of their time outside. They don't really get along XD

We had to attach two bells to Arty's collar (don't panic - it's a quick release one) to stop him from catching birds. He hasn't caught too many since. Except he managed to pull his collar off the other day and catch a bird, but we found it and put it back on. The cheeky boy

Woke up this morning to find my sister half-way out of her bedroom window, calling to Arty who wanted to come indoors. My sister then proceeded to get dressed and wander up and down outside, making a right racket, before bringing Arty inside. :/

We're still trying to find something to transport Arty to the vets for his vaccinations. All the travel cages are super expensive for a one-time use every year.. Either that, or they're all too small for Artemis. We'll keep looking, I guess.

I'm glad you want her to be an indoor cat! Outdoor cats are not only a danger to themselves, but also to the environment (they are not natural predators in the ecosystem anymore, so they end up killing off bird populations which can really mess up the ecosystem).

As a young cat, she will probably be very active for a while and will need ways to be entertained. Find out what kind of toys she likes and get more of that type. My little kitten adores a mouse toy tied to a stick. You can also make toys with catnip in them (though young cats don't react to catnip yet) and hide snacks in the house, so the cat has something to do. Harness training is great, as going on walks could be a great way to satisfy her curiosity of the outside world! Basically, just keep her entertained inside so she doesn't have so much time to think about the outside.

And by the way, it's completely normal for young kittens' eyes to change colour c: Nova is simply developing melanin in her eyes and yellow will probably be the final result, maybe Amber or orange

My cat often escapes -- he's indoor, but always wants to go outside -- and I'm always careful but he's much too clever for me. :p

Depending on how much she likes to scratch things, if you have a screen on your window, perhaps you can open it a slit and give her a chair (or something she can sit/stand on)

My cat will spend all of mealtime standing on the back of my chair, looking outside. He'll meow occasionally, but it's quite a bit less. >.<

However, he doesn't try to escape through the window as often, so I'm not sure how that would work out.

Ok, so at the barn I ride at, one of the barn cats was limping heavily on one paw. No one knows for sure what happened, but most likely he was stepped on or jumped off something high and hit his paw. Apparently he's been limping for weeks, but the barn refuses to take him to the vet. If he's still limping next week we are going to take him there ourselves but just an x-ray is $300.

I was looking through my computer and found kitten pictures of Artemis. He was six months old and tiny! Now he's a huge, lazy lump.
