It's an '08 Red Rose Dog, that's why I'm having such troubles trying to figure out a fair trade...

Most people won't accept '09's for a Rose Dog. ^^'
You would need a lot of very early '09's. LOTS.
You may be better to wait and save up your pets, and then it'll be easier to get. ^^
