personality/name

"HOLA, I'M CATALINA ROSA DEL BOSQUE." THE SHY GIRL SAID WITH A SOFT
SMILE, HOLDING OUT HER HAND TENTATIVELY.

ah, what a big name for such a little body. one
so small could never fill the responsibility of such a big
name, correct? you couldn't possibly be more wrong.
although small in stature, catalina's mere presence will
easily take your breath away. she's quite shy, but she has
such an elegance and grace about her that she simply
cannot be ignored. though she'd never dream of hurting
another being, don't underestimate her fierceness when
it comes to protecting those she loves and cares for. despite
being the more open of the two sisters, tragedies the twins
have experienced has left catalina with trust issues with
everything. catalina bases her day to day life on her good
judgement of character, and although it may leave her
looking judgmental and rude she feels it's her only method
of protection from others for her and her sister. catalina
loves helping others out, whether it be to lend a shoulder to
cry on or to share wisdom beyond her years. catalina is very
kind and giving, and although she has trust issues from
previous encounters she is willing to look past it to help
someone in need.

pen name/info

"AH, MY PEN? THEY'RE SO MUCH MORE THAN A PEN, COME,
YOU'LL SEE." CATALINA BECKONS YOU TO FOLLOW HER.

jardín is the name, and they've got powers unheard of.
many chase after catalina and her twin sister, hermosa,
wanting the pens all to themselves simply to use the magic
of the pens for evil. you see, jardín isn't like any ordinary
shadow. not only does jardín have a twin as well, espina,
they can bring the lifeless to life. the twins draw with the
pens, and whatever they draw comes to life. the pens can
draw anything, but nothing they draw is ever inanimate.
they can draw money, and it becomes living. not-so much
as having personification, but inanimate objects that are
drawn with the pens begin to need the basic necessities to
live. catalina and her sister only use the pens for good,
and although the shadows have no limitations, the pens
can create very evil beings. catalina and hermosa are
very careful to keep everything they draw good and nice,
and they also make sure the shadows don't fall into the
wrong hands. catalina and hermosa love to draw flowers
and various herbs because not only are they beautiful,
they can be used to help others. the twins often use their
pens to create herbs and such to produce medicines and
food to helps those in need. not everyone likes their good
deeds and kind usage of the shadows, and therefore try to
steal the pens away from the well-meaning sisters. after
many close encounters, the sisters have been forced to
keep their shadows their biggest kept secret. if either of the
twins show you their pens, or creations from their pens,
count yourself one of the most trusted by the sisters. catalina
now lives by the thought that you cannot ever be too careful,
as she vividly remembers the many encounters of when being
chased for their pens and the threat of danger got too close
for comfort.

how twin b cracked her face

"WHAT HAPPENED TO MY SISTER? OH, NOW, THAT'S QUITE A STORY."
CATALINA WHISPERED THE RESPONSE, LOWERING HER HEAD.

they were running, faster than they ever had
before. catalina was in the lead, hermosa following
behind her closely. little did catalina know this would
be a day she'd never forget, a day that would lead to
her blaming herself for her sister's everyday pain for
the rest of her life. they were running, running as fast
as they could from the hateful man chasing them to
harvest the magic of their shadows for evil. they were
running, until they weren't. hermosa tripped, and
catalina couldn't catch her. hermosa fell onto the right
side of her face, cracking it and making her horn fall off.
the shriek that came out of her was only something you
heard in horror stories. the man was getting closer, and
closer, and they were frozen. catalina quickly snapped
out of it and helped her twin up, both of them stumbling
in the pine straw beneath their feet. catalina tried to grab
her sisters horn, she reached out, but the man was right
there. how'd he get there so quickly? they had no choice
but to leave her horn behind, and catalina held her sister
up as they ran out of the forest and left the evil man
behind. the man lost the sisters, but found hermosa's
horn. he sold it on the market once he realized it didn't
possess powers like the pens held. hermosa tries to
cover up now, thinking her cracked face and missing
horn leaves her looking horrendous, and catalina
blames herself for her sister being unhappy. after all,
she couldn't catch her, and she couldn't even save her
horn. after that day, things were never the same, and
the sisters have become even more protective of their
shadows.

likes/dislikes

"MY INTERESTS? AH, WELL YOU SEE, I LIKE AND DISLIKE MANY THINGS.
COME, SIT, LET'S TALK." CATALINA SAYS WITH A SMILE, MOTIONING TO THE
WOODEN CHAIRS ON THE FRONT PORCH OF THEIR LITTLE CABIN.

about the user

"MY GUARDIAN? OH, SHE'S ONLY THE NICEST HUMAN YOU'LL EVER
MEET!" CATALINA SPOKE, A SMILE LIGHTING UP HER FACE.

yep, that's right, it's me. i'm here
to make sure catalina stays safe, and ghost
town does the same for hemarosa. you may
know me as distants, but i go by kd as well!
if i were to be lucky enough to adopt catalina,
i promise she'd be safer than ever under my
guidance. i have never won a doll, although
i've tried a time or two, so catalina would be
my first! i promise to love her unconditionally,
i believe she'd be quite happy to live alongside
my other adored characters! good luck to
everyone entering, whoever wins sure is lucky!

called her little rag doll,
littlexxxxxragxxxxxdoll.

username: ghost town

name:
hermosa mirabella del bosque.

shadow's name:
espina, meaning thorn in spanish.

personality:
hermosa generally comes off as cold, stoic even, but that couldn't
be further from the truth. she's actually very kind and protective
over the ones she cares about. it's hard for her to socialize now,
resulting in her sister being her only friend. she relies heavly on
catalina, possibly to an unhealthy extent. it's rare to see the two
of them apart. they're inseparable. hermosa has a very strong sense
of justice, doing about everything in her power to help those in
need. despite being very helpful, she's very pessimistic and finds
it hard to trust people trying to enter her life. she wasn't always
this way, when she was younger, hermosa had hope, she was
hopeful to a naive and ignorant point. she quickly learned that to
be able to rely on a person, you need to trust them fully, and
that trust is to be earned, not just given.

what do they use their pens for?:
hermosa and catilina's shadows aren't like the other shadows.
their pens create living things, whatever they draw rising from
the page and technically coming to life. anything that is drawn
or written will become real, nothing will ever be inanimate. if
the pens ever fell into the wrong hands, anything could be made.
it's a very tiring job, watching after the pens, when so many people
desire them. hermosa and catilina have accepted that it's their
duty to guard them with their life, they know what dangers and
sacrifices come with it, but if they can protect others than it's
worth it. hermosa sees it as an opportunity to help, and to
protect people who cannot protect themselves. "as long as you're
fighting for someone, then it will never be in vain," she often
whispers to herself when she feels as though she's being crushed
by responsibilities, "you must help those who cannot help themselves."
although the twins are helping by keeping their shadows hidden,
they also do other courteous things. they often draw herbs and
other plants that can they use to make medicines and remedies
to help sick people in need.

how did they crack their face?:
the story of how hermosa got the crack in her face is not one
that is shared very easily. in fact, it's easier for hermosa to
pretend that it's not even there, which is why she decides to
hide it behind flowers. "the flowers, they're so lovely, aren't
they?" she sees it like she's replacing the 'ugly' with something
that is most beautiful to her. the del bosque twins are seen as
very valuable, exotic dolls. they're looked at like rare collectibles
of sorts. especially with their shadow's abilities. people hear
stories of the twins, and their shadows and begin to search for
them, so they can use the girls for their own selfish reasons.
the sisters had never actually been spotted, up until this day. the
boom of footsteps echoed throughout the forest, seeming even
louder to the frail girls. suddenly he was there, the man that
changed everything. rattled with fear, hermosa took a few
hesitant steps back. the strange man began running and so did
the sisters. catilina leading, and hermosa following closely behind.
then it happened, in all of the frantic rush, hermosa lost her
footing, and fell to the forest floor, the right side of her face
shattering and her horn falling off. she cried out for her sister,
softly placing her hand over the cracks in her face. catilina helped
her to her feet, pulling her along. she had reached out for her
horn and the fragments of porcelain, but it was too late, if they
had stopped to pick up all of the pieces they would surely have
been caught and sold. the twins ran for what seemed like ages,
only stopping occasionally to see if they were still being chased.
the sisters never found hermosa's horn, for the man who was
hunting them had gotten to it first, and sold it for profit. the loss
of her horn changed hermosa. she still looked like the girl she was
before, but she never acted the same since. she never told her
sister this, but she's in awe of her brave actions. if it hadn't been
for catilina, she surely would have been captured. now hermosa
spends her days admiring her sister and growing flowers with her
in their garden. she avoids humans at all costs, keeping a watchful
eye out. one day she hopes she'll be able to repay catilina for
saving her, but she doubts that there's anyway she could. the twins
are closer than ever now, and both of them hold their shadows tighter
than ever before.
