History: From what he was told, his parents met in London before the existence of the Avengers and while Bucky was on one of his many missions. His mother said she'd loved the Soldier no matter what he'd done or was. But of course the Winter Soldier wasn't to stay around long as he'd left the country a month before James was born - so he knew she was expecting - and never contacted her in fear of putting her and their son in harms way. So, James Jr. grew up with a single mom who never married but went on many first dates by persuasion of James. All his life he knew about his father and hated him for leaving his mother to raise a child alone. From an early age, it was clear that he'd inherited the Winter Soldiers superhuman qualities and was warned not to reveal them unless it was life or death. A month before he turned 17, his mother was attacked in the street while walking home from work. She tried to fight back but ended up getting stabbed and bleeding out. When the cops informed James he was furious and decoded to go on a little vendetta. Instead of going into care, James fell of the grid the only way he knew how by burning his house and everything in it except a bag of clothes, cash, a few photos and a letter to his mother written by his father. He left, letting the house he'd grew up in burn to the ground. He'd left hi's drivers license in there for the cops to find. Within a month, he'd tracked down the thugs who had murdered his mother and put them in hospital with severe damage. After that he met up with an old friend who was an expert at making fake passports, drivers licenses etc. He got himself a fake passport and bought a one way plan ticket to New York to try and find his father.
