Why can this laptop run a gamecube emulator (which is very graphics intensive!!) at a solid 30FPS with minor framedrops but can't run literally any other game I've tried beyond 10FPS??????

I've been feeling fairly confident recently which is a big deal for me. it's nice not to be constantly weighed down by negative self talk and upsetting thoughts. I definitely feel like I have more time and motivation to work on the things I enjoy when I'm not spending all my time down talking myself and worrying about everything I say or do and whether others like me.
