They are just animals - I am not saying wolves are not as good as humans because they're animals - in fact humans are animals too, but I have seen "wolfaboos" and they are pretty horrible people.
Anyway, wolves are nice, wolf pups are cute, deforestation is a problem.

Agreed! Thank you for saying this. I love wolves, but I'm not obsessed with them.

well. that's my two-cents for you of coyotes. correct me if I'm wrong on anything~

But the trouble is "resistance " against any animal- be it coyote or bird, is not in fact futile. Haven't you heard of animals being hunted to extinction? The dodo bird? How about tigers? I know tigers are endangered for several different reasons, but I know one of them is hunting. Now there are only 3,000 left in the wild. It's not fair. So no, while coyotes do try, humans have guns that reload and reload and kill coyotes instantly, and humans do not.
Humans have a right to defend their pets, but I agree that it is thoughtless and unfair for someone to want coyotes, wolves, vultures, or,any living creature to go completely extinct clearly is not thinking correctly- at the very least.

i can both of you, cyinae and non. coyotes are a problem for pets, cyinae, and we should keep pets indoors to better care for them, but like non said, resistance can lead to extinction. we cant keep our dogs inside forever, it's not fair to them. the best way we can defend our pets in places with many coyotes is to keep them inside, or to at least keep a close eye on them when they ARE outside. yes, a hunting season should be provided against coyotes, but it should also be very regulated, like deer and turkey hunting. but if there are problems with deforestation, like wolves have, then there shouldn't be any reason to hunt coyotes.

so, on the short end of things, all we really need to do is be careful.

I have to say that I appreciate wolves and coyotes. They are awesome creatures to see frolicking through a misty morning...from a distance. Do I believe in stopping all hunting of them? Certainly not. While I would not proudly display a wolf or coyote killed in my house, I will fully admit to killing two coyotes. Why? Well, they posed a danger directly to me and/or others. The first one used to hang out in my parent's barn in the middle of the day when I was a kid. One day I walked in the barn, came face to face with "Scruffy", and he came at me. I shut the barn door in his face, and we later disposed of him. But in a humane way. This was not the first time I had come face to face with Scruffy in the barn, either. Or other neighbors had not noticed something a little "off" about the local coyote. The second time there was a huge coyote hanging out near the barn where I worked as the stable manager. I caught him chasing one of the ponies out in the field on more than one occasion. Not cool. I got a frantic phone call one evening from one of the kids who boarded her horse in the stables about how she was in the barn and the coyote came after her. I showed up, tried to scare him off, and ended up having to put him down as well. Am I proud of my kills? I do not boast about them. I did not go out looking to kill these creatures, even though there was a shotgun in the tack room of the barn where I was working, specifically for that coyote. I do think that overpopulation of humans is a big issue in coming into contact with "dangerous" wolves and coyotes. They are wild animals. They are wild meat eating animals. Instinct says to kill or be killed when cornered. Humans encroach in their territories and expect the animals to just find somewhere else to go. Problem is, they don't. With human overpopulation and overcrowding onto the land which belongs to the animals, there is a vast shortage of food and appropriate hunting for said animals. Allowing them all to live and scrape by on scraps is really not all that humane. So, yes, I feel that hunting in a controlled season is more than okay. Should they all be killed just because they happen to exist in the same area we do? Certainly not. They were usually there first.

As for hunting of the coyotes, I think it should always be allowed. It's like , for example, if the whole world went Vegan. Cows and chickens would be everywhere, since we are the main consumer or those animals. I do believe in animal welfare, and I don't think it is right to simply kill for no reason, but as long as long as you have a purpose in killing, I see no harm. But we can't kill them all, as they play a role in the food chain and Eco system. And killing an animal just because it's on your proportion is neither good of smart. You can't assume something is going to eat your pets. Even if you are worried, just bring your pets inside. If your pets can't go inside, wait, why do have pets in the first place if they can't even go inside???

HOLY CRAP, I'm reading this back and I did not explain this well. Oh wait... That's everything

You know what I really.. Dislike? When someone makes a picture. They take a photo of some wolf pups, usually a litter with text under it saying "Do we look like monsters to you?" As if people
1. Shoot wolf pups to death or at all
2. Think grown wolves/wolves they kill are monsters
It's as simple as this
If a wolf is running at you
Is it not instinct to fight back? A wolf pup would
1. Not attack someone
2. Not be able to hurt anyone seriously if they did
I mean, come on. Talk about misinformation.

I agree wolves and coyotes - and frankly most other canines are very beautiful and I can understand your hatred for them being hunted, for fun, though, right?

Honestly I don't like the hunting of them or any animal for any reason. If they are posing a threat to people or livestock, I do think that its a lot better to relocate the animal or make adjustments so that they can live in that area and not harm anyone. Usually if they are posing a danger to humans or livestock its because of habitat loss or something else thats not their fault. I understand that this is not always possible but people need to move on from the first thing they do to an animal when it's posing a threat is kill them.
