So from a professional game designer's point of view, here's the win:
- as always, simple and engaging graphics that are varied enough to make collecting meaningful but are visually coherent as a set. So far this seems to be the site's greatest strength in general. It has to be difficult to not retread, but also keep pets recognizable and consistent.
- a cute story personalized to players. It's less the quest content than being able to watch the story develop in real time and have had a hand in it in real ways... For example the hilarious building fiasco with our names and funny things that happened to us resulting in a huge world change -- permanence is a big deal, the "I made permanent change happen" win -- and then new content and new rewards.
- the scrolling news animation is great. Too much animation is bad, in a site that doesn't have it. It's just enough of the right thing and is about content, which is super.
- simple stories, varied activities. The story is easy to remember and episodic by location so no one gets confused. Really nice work. Giving options for different rewards for the same item turn ins makes for variety but no confusion. Links at the bottom prompt correct movement or return to base, or central story hub. More links would have confused things. Great thinking.
- cute story, nice emphasis on ecology, exploration and social responsibility without being saccharine. It's hard to write content that appeals to all ages, particularly here with a pretty low tech medium. Well done. Really looking forward to seeing it play out.
- great visual teasers of content yet to come... Subtle and not intrusive on the current content. Another great choice, where we say "oh wait now we can go to these asteroids/this moon?" Super.
Some things to consider:
- the audience, including children, self identifies as a diversity of genders and orientations. Be aware of assumptions of binaries and heteronormativity. Diversifying characters makes your content more inclusive and sends strong messages to your audience... Particularly children, who need these affirmations ... that they are not alone and that they are recognized and part of the world. This is a wonderful opportunity to say "yes, we know you are here." I'd use it.
- a link from the main moon base page to the content at the top of this post with a "how do I do this event, what are the rewards?" type text would be helpful. The content path is clear and I like surprises but some people like to know the lay of the land ahead of time and this post is really buried. If I missed a signpost like this, I'm sorry and never mind.

Anyway, in summation, great event. I'm really enjoying it and am super impressed! Particularly as a new user, it's very SHINY!
