So much yes! They look very unique and fit well with the design theme. Additionally, I am SOOM trash. If you don't know them, they make fantasy themed BJDs that are often released only for a short period of time and then retired. I have a couple dream SOOMs, among which are Grey and Ace. Alas, they were retired in 2012 and I am poor so I will probably never get my hands on them. However, because of the slight similarities in the legs, I was reminded of them when I saw this design. For that reason, I am a huge fan of the insect legs on this darling.

How do I feel about the insect legs?:

I absolutely loved them the very second I saw them! They're unique and graceful and give this doll very magical look. Im into "realisitc" view on mythical creatures, such as faeries, and she reminds me of fairy with those cute little legs. <3

Why do I want this doll:

Oh, where do I even start. I fell in love with these two as soon as I saw them. I love insects - their images, their intricate build and unique looks. Ants take a special place for me, since I was little, thanks to the books I read back then. And I find this pair to be very interesting in species choice - did you know that ladybugs and ants in real life are actually enemies? Ladybugs attack the herds of sugar-producing insects that ants keep, similar to wolves. And that sort of "opposites attract" case makes me love them even more.

Story:

Poor Mushka was unlucky since the very moment box with her arrived to the home of her human. She was never meant to be loved; ordered only to serve as a stock for spare parts, big discount on leftover ball jointed bases in the shop sealed her destiny to forever be unwanted. After taking the spare parts from her to fix another doll, human tossed her into box with junk details and forgot about her for a long time. One day, it seemed she got a second chance... she was taken out again. But instead of being cared for, she was only to be humilated once more - the feet she lost in favor of another doll were replaced with insect paws. Her maker was trying out a halloween themed doll, but never finished her in the end. He gave her a quick ladybug theme to hide the fact she was unfinished, and tried to sell, but nobody would buy a weird looking doll. Eventually, she ended up in a charity box for local kindergarden.. only to be rejected again by the teachers, who deemed her too much of a hazard for children to play with. And thus, she was thrown out in the woods, right on the clearing next to big road where charity donations were taken. The car drove off, carrying other toys to their new homes, to be played with and loved.. and Mushka was left alone on the cold ground, with only leaves softly falling down around her. Very soon, bright dress couldnt be told apart from the colorful autumn carpet. During the following winter, a glimpse of shadow fell next to her resting place.. and she was given yet another chance to get the happiness she deserves. It was Koma, a shadow of a abandoned ant.

Shadow's Story:

Koma gave his colony all of his being since the moment he was born. One of the earliest children of newly crowned queen, he was a commander - leader of armies, protector and caretaker of his home. For a long year, he served loyally and tirelessly for the good of the anthill, never complaining, ready to sacrifice his life if need be. But when the grim hour come, Koma found out how cruel life can be. In a long and bloody war with neightborhooding anthill, his home emerged victorious - but at a great price. Koma was severely wounded while valiantly protecting the front line against the hoards of invaders. His shiny head was scarred all over, he lost his eyesight, but not only it - he also lost his antennae. It was his ears, tongue, and soul. He raised up from the ground again and again, begging for help from his comrades - but he recieved none. The laws of the anthill were blind to suffering of a single ant. He was left to die alone, in empty, pitch-black, soundless space, and as he submerged deeper into the darkness, he started to realise that home he devoted all of himself to never cared for him back. He became a wandering shadow, unable to accept being abandoned, unable to forgive other ants for their betrayal, and went out in search of somebody.. somebody special. Somebody who would never betray him. Cold didnt bother him anymore, as he wasnt an alive insect, and he kept travelling even when cold autumn rains stepped down and winter came upon the earth. Among the cold white snow, he spotted a lonely spark. It glimpsed at him like a star. It was Mushka, her purple eyes so bright they glowed even through the snow.

Koma and Mushka got very different personalities, but they share a common hobby. They love travelling. So much they dont even have a single place they could call home - for they simply dont need it. A home is any cozy enough place housing them on their stop, but as soon as they move on, they leave it behind with an easy heart and travel further towards their new horisons. They both want to see and learn as much as they can, to meet new critters and explore new lands. As long as they're together, being on the road is their most favorite pass time. Humans noticing them on their travels most often think they've seen a fairies in the woods.

Big Red if you couldn't tell is a red ant. He follows and protects Maree, and their sweet nature lends them to be abused often. Red takes care of all threats and pesky people wanting to harm his lady.

Chiki is a quiet girl who tends to want to keep to herself most of the time. She'd rather
spend her time tending to the plants in her shop than interacting with people, but she
always at least tries to seem inviting to get business. She can be a little bit of a pessimist
and even rather cold at times, but that's mostly due to the hard time she has walking. It
was already strange enough that she had weird bug legs, but to top it off she could barely
walk on them. She enjoys most of her time being alone with Alan, considering he not only
carries her around everywhere, but he's one of the only people who's made her laugh. How-
ever, that's probably because other dolls and shadows would be lucky enough for her to talk
to them for long enough for them to even make a joke. Though it's more so Alan's fiery
personality that can get a chuckle out of her.

She isn't exactly a lady of words. She typically lets her gestures, or even expressions do the
talking for her. Though her expression of choice is typically blank, and hard to read... Also,
though she may seem calm and collected, it's not hard for her facade to be broken by some-
thing like stress, embarrassment, and the like.




✿shadow's personality✿

Alan is, well, your typically hothead, so to speak. There's never really a time when he isn't
fired up. He's quite judgmental when it comes to other dolls and shadows, and even with Chiki.
He can be pretty rude without noticing, and sometimes even drives customers away with his
bitter attitude. Though he doesn't exactly mean to... He doesn't mind when it happens. Though
he made a contract with Chiki (and an ant), he's actually quite the loner and prefers to be on his
own, and is quite bitter towards Chiki due to having to carry her around. Another thing contrary to
the nature of an ant is his disobedience. He isn't really one to listen to well... Anyone, and this often
leads to things like instead of going to the shop to open up like Chiki wants, they take a looong
walk in the woods.

While to an outsider, it may seem like Alan dislikes Chiki quite a bit, it's more like the opposite. He
can be pretty rude and even a bit controlling when it comes to these two, but overall she means a lot
to him, and he tries his best to keep her safe. Perhaps that's why he scares dolls off sometimes...

✿favorite hobby/past time:✿
Her favorite past time is gardening. Though it's simple, it seems to bring both Alan and Chiki joy. Alan's
love for nature and Chiki's lack of other things to do brings the two together. The two even found that
perhaps it would be nice to spread the beauty of the plants they grow, so they decided to open up a
little shop! Even if Alan happens to drive away 30% of the dolls who actually come by.

Though Alan doesn't seem to know it, Chiki also likes to ride on his back and go places, even if he completely
ignores her and goes somewhere different. Just the gentle sway, and perhaps even just the ability to go places
at all makes her happy, and she feels quite bad that he gets fed up with it so quickly.


✿History:✿
Pretty face, pretty eyes, pretty hair. She was wonderful, perfect for the girl. "But... What
about that cloth, covering the legs?" the girl would question. And before she could be stopped, the strange
insect legs were revealed. A shriek. How could such a beautiful doll bear such unsightly legs? Her parents
expected more than the shriek, but a tantrum. With a temper like that child, it was expected. Once more they
were wrapped up, and all was fine. But those wraps seemed to make play rather hard.

Weeks passed. The girl was tired of how limited she felt with the doll. All of her others had pretty legs, while
this one had... Those. She never showed her friends, in fear that they would ask about it, and she never told
her parents aout how much she didn't like it in fear of making them unhappy. So... She attempted to take care
of it herself. With one had around the doll's torso and another around the doll's legs, the child began to pull!
She could replace the legs later... She hoped.

She pulled and pulled, but nothing happened. Again and again she tried, though they didn't budge... Well, not
exactly the way she wanted. The once strong, well made joints of the doll's legs loosened greatly, making the
doll unable to stand, and the legs floppy. So, in a fit of anger, she stormed to the nearest park and threw the doll in
an ant hill. "Useless, ugly doll! I never wanna see you again!" And she never did.

✿(question) how do you feel about the insect legs?✿
I actually didn't notice them the first time I looked at it, even when I look down to see
the shadow and the little sketch in the corner. I only noticed that they were
there when I looked back up at her face and then saw it said she had insect legs. I
was a bit like 'oh okay i guess' about it, but after a second look it's actually really
cute, heh.
