Uh-oh! Lottie had heard pirates talk about storms over a pint, she never heard good things. "How bad," she asked, keeping the fear out of her. She had a sneaking suspicion that the attractive woman knew anyway.

"It's not gonna be pretty." Liza said. "Don't worry I've sailed in plenty of storms, we should be fine if we catch The Maiden before the storm gets to bad."

Patric grabbed Ella's hand and looked into her eyes nervously. He didn't want her to get hurt by trying to escape, but Alexa would probably try to kill them even if they didn't. And besides, Ella would just get mad if he tried to stop her. So instead of pulling her back into the cabin, he leaned close and kissed her gently on the lips. He pulled away and helped her climb through the window, saying quietly, "Don't die, okay?"

"I won't. I'll get you out." Ella said. She climbed out the porthole, but clung to the edge. "Cross your fingers." she said before letting go. She fell down in what seemed like slow motion.

Patric gasped and bit his lip, clutching the edge of the porthole until his fingers went white and his lip began to bleed.

At the very last second, Ella grabbed on to one of the cannon holes. She clung to it, her palms were glistening with sweat, but she was determined to stay alive. She got her foot into a small nook and hitched herself up. She threw herself in and fell on the floor near a cannon.

"Phew," said Patric quietly, brushing a hand across his forehead to wipe away the cold sweat that had popped up there. He didn't know what he would have done if Ella had fallen into the water- he would have been helpless to save her, trapped while she drowned ten feet below the porthole.

Ella stood up and snuck out of the room. She walked to her room and knocked. She waited for Patric to reply. She hoped Alexa wouldn't come down.

Patric heard the knock on the door and immediately raced to it, peering through the keyhole. All he could see was a faint outline of a shirt- whoever it was, they were standing too close. "Alexa?" he asked cautiously. "What do you want?" He didn't dare ask if it was Ella- if it wasn't, Alexa would know she wasn't in the room.
