Kaira skulked towards the other wolf carefully, tail sticking out poker-straight behind her. She flopped down next to Kanrik, who could feel her trembling.

"I don't hear anything," the other wolf muttered, raising his head.

"It was also stupid to have you come directly back here, but there i safety in numbers. They won't send more then three wolves. Now they know where we are. You all get some rest. We'll have to take up watches now unfortunately." Dare said pondering on how he could have been so stupid.

"Basically its a gang of wolves. Hundreds again 10." Dare said. He lay down next to Sonya who was just starting to wake up.

Kaira flicked her ears. "A gang of wolves... thugs..." she stopped and turned to Kanrik. "Sound familiar to you?"

Kanrik shrugged. "Reminds me of those wolves who attacked us on our way to this forest. Attacked us in the mountains, or something, right?"

Sonya, and Dare were instantly alerted by kanriks words. They lifter their heads, and listened carefully. "you were attacked in the mountains?" they asked in perfect unison.

"Yeah..." Kaira replied, trying to remember. "It was dark, and both of us were just going back to our dens, when something jumped on us. I think there was only one, two at the most. Evidently, they didn't send out their entire force."

Kanrik frowned. "We were losing pretty badly, then they suddenly turned tail and vanished. I didn't really think much of it at the time, but now..."

"They must have realized that they'd gotten the wrong wolves," Kaira said slowly. "They could've followed our scent trail to get here. This is bad."
