SCP-261: The Pan-Dimensional Vending Machine
This game revolves around the SCP-261 Pan-Dimensional Vending Machine. In the lore of the vending machine, random things come out, even things that don't sound edible, things that are obviously not child friendly, and in a few of the scenarios, the item that came out ended up being fatal to the people researching the machine. Of course, with any CS forum thread, there are rules, and here they are
Rules
1: While the vending machine in the lore spits out things that are not child friendly, that doesn't mean you can make your item like that. CS is meant for all ages, and no inappropriate topics. That means no sexually explicit or suggestive items, and no items that are overly disturbing, gruesome, or just plain dark. While CS does allow characters in role plays to be killed as a result of injuries, there are still rules about how detailed it can be. So, if you're going to have your item kill the researchers, don't do it in a way that is not child-friendly.
2: If you already know about SCP-261, don't share any links to anything regarding it, if people are curious about it, let them look it up themselves. If you post a link to anything relating to SCP-261, your post will be reported. Posting these links leads to the possibility of minors seeing inappropriate content, so no links.
3: This isn't really a rule, more of a request. In the lore of SCP-261, the machine only takes Japanese Yen, any other currency inserted is spit back out via the coin return. Try to find a currency converter that works for you, but generally speaking for American users, 100 Yen is 1 USD.
SCP-261 Lore
The more money you spend at one time gives you stranger items, as does placing money into the machine when it is unplugged. Normally, a vending machine will not work at all if it is not plugged into an electrical socket. However, that is not the case for the SCP-261. Using the machine while it is unplugged causes it to spit out more strange items.
Here are three examples of items that the researchers have received from the machine, just to give you some inspiration
“Pepsi: Dragon Twist” – A can of Pepsi cola, with a trace of fruit flavor, packaging in English. Flavor identified as Dragon Fruit. PepsiCo does not produce this product.
“The Little Bakery: 7 Grain” – A small tube the size of a candy bar with a green button, made of aluminum, packaging in English. When the top is twisted off, a mass of “dough” is extruded. “Dough” contains several enzymes and bacteria that have not yet been identified. On contact with air, these cause the dough to rise and “bake”, killing the microbes in the process. Produces a small, round loaf of bread weighing 250 grams. Taste described as good, but chewy.
“Lemon Clams” – Thick plastic baggie with a plastic tube on the side, containing water and twelve clams, packaging in Dutch. Following on-package instructions, the plastic tube was cracked like a “glow stick”. Liquid in the bag flashed to steam, venting from a hole that popped open in the top of the bag, slightly burning one researcher. Steaming finished after thirty-eight seconds, after which clams were found to be fully cooked and infused with a mild lemon flavor. On investigation, clams match no recorded species.
