Smallstep woke up to the sound of Orchidpaw's frantic yelling. She wondered
who it was this time. The answer was right beside her. The body of Burningkit
lay still in a pool of blood. The queen shrieked, which brought over Fawnstar,
Orchidpaw, and others cats in the Clan who had already been woken up.

"Who could have done this?" someone moaned. They had already taken Ghostkit
out of the dirtied nursery to avoid traumatizing her.

"It was Honeypaw, clear as day!" someone yelled. At this point, the Clan was
simply reduced to wild guessing, hoping that they would catch the killer. This
new accusation gained ground quickly, and Honeypaw fled his Clan, unwilling
to be torn apart by his former Clanmates.

Honeypaw fled to RiverClan, but never crossed the river. The current was too
much for him and he drowned, only to be washed up on the shores of the Clan
that he never reached. His body was found by Robinmask, who prayed that his
former Clan would solve their problem.

You have exiled yet another innocent, ThunderClan! Be careful, for the killer
is close to winning!

A few days had passed since Honeypaw's exile, and ThunderClan was beginning
to believe that their curse was over. How wrong they were.

Jaycloud was hunting near the Thunderpath along the ThunderClan-ShadowClan
border. He scented a squirrel, and began to track it. His spirit was lifting as he
did so, confident that he could bring back some prey to his healing Clan.

The squirrel was close to the Thunderpath. Too close, but Jaycloud ignored the
dangers, as he and his Clanmates had gone without a steady source of food for
too long. He pounced, and felt something push him from behind, making him
tumble onto the Thunderpath where the rumble of the monsters was felt. In the
few moments he had left, he looked back and saw the face of the killer. The sight
pained him and he realized that in the end, you couldn't trust anyone, even your
own Clanmates.

Jaycloud's body was never recovered as the Twolegs realized that they had hit a cat
and after determining that it was too late, gave him a small burial in their backyard.

Is the killer too clever for you, ThunderClan? You are too close to your own demise!
Find the killer...before they get rid of you.

Ghostkit had barely slept since Grasskit's death...and then Burningkit had died as well! The nursery, once full with life, was now nearly completely empty, save for her, and Smallstep. Ghostkit wanted to seek comfort from her...but the images of all their dead clanmates flashed in her mind, and she shuddered, curling into a smaller ball. Maybe she would go find the apprentices...but another memory flashed through her, the clan shouting wild accusations...not knowing who the killer was...it could be anyone. They had already lost so many cats. Ghostkit let out a whimper, and curled into an even tighter ball, before, out of habit, she got up, and pressed herself into Smallstep, letting out short, quiet whimpers.

[Chaotic Queen]

Smallstep nuzzled ghostkit. She started to groom the little kit. "Ghostkit.. It will be all over soon hopefully, we will find the killer, i will make a promise to you.. I promise to never let anything happen to you while I'm still standing" she said softly. Smallstep started to purr to hopefully calm the frightened kit down.
