New Members: A stray cat named Flint joins the group as Flintstrike. Marshstar quickly sees how good he is at leading, and Flintstrike ends up as deputy.

The current season is greenleaf! Is it just me or did the sun get warmer? The weather is lovely and everyone wants to be outside- including confident predators looking for a meal, so be careful who you send on patrols. Births are going smoothly and you're likely to find some cats seeking shelter from the heat. Try taking a splash in a river to cool off!

Whetley visits Amber again as she promised. Amber had a quiet hope that she wouldn’t because then she wouldn’t have to make a choice. The truth was, she had already decided, but was afraid of the consequences of her choice. She decided to mentor Whetley. It had a lot of perks. The more cats with medical knowledge the better. A companion was always welcome during herb gathering, especially now that Zoe wouldn’t be able to join her. She could also use… erm, seek help from Whetley in finding herbs in places located further away that she was too afraid to visit. Nothing but perks. And yet, both of the mollies were afraid that Northstar might not allow it so they decided to keep it secret from her.

“Excuse me?”

“Yeah, Bacup and Songbird are making their own clan. It’s ok. Pretty small though. I like it here better.”

Northstar lets out a groan as her eyebrows narrow. “I knew those two were nothing but trouble. Should’ve got rid of them ages ago. Now it’s too late…” She stops in her step. “Continue on. I have business to deal with.” She splits up from the patrol, leaving the other cats confused. It might be too late to kill those miscreants now, but there was always time to knock some sense into them. And punch out those silly ideas. She looked for Nightfall, but he was nowhere to be found. Too bad. He was dependable. She approached Rainstorm and asked him to visit the place to confirm whether Bacup and Songbird were actually doing what Jinx had said. The molly was untrustworthy and the clan would look bad at her if she ordered an attack on those two for no reason. However, if Rainstorm were to confirm the accusations, his order was to attack.

After a short while of scouring, Rain managed to find the small camp. It was nothing worth fighting over, but the two cats were indeed there.

“Stay back”, he was greeted by Songbird. “This is our territory. You’re not allowed in.” Rainstorm laughed. “Who’s going to stop me?” Song didn’t look at him, busying himself with digging a hole. “The law”, he answered calmly. “There are rules in our land and you have to obey by them.” Bacup fervently nodded his head, supporting his mentor.
“So it’s true then. You really are making your own clan.”
“Well…” Bacup started, sensing the threat in Rain’s voice despite his smile. Songbird cut him off.
“Yes.”
“You know, a territory can only belong to one clan and it’s already claimed by Northstar.”
Songbird ceased digging and walked over to Rainfall. “That’s fine. She can have it. We’re still a part of her clan. We’re just claiming this bit for ourselves and making our own clan. But we’ll still be part of her clan.”
Rainfall laughed again. “You know what this means, right? If two clans want the same part of the territory… they have to fight over it. See you later.” He smiled and maybe winked. It was hard to tell since he only had one eye.
Bacup looked to Songbird with fearful eyes. Songbird returned the look. “Time to call for backup?” “Yep, lets hurry.”

The two cats sought help from others that they had previously invited to join them, but they could not find those they knew would help them - Amber, Zoe, Whetley. However, they managed to get Mousetrap on their side - because they offered her food, so basically bribed her. Mousetrap napped calmly on a rock basked in sunlight while the other two paced around their clan nervously, but determined to protect their land. Eventually, four cats came led by Rainstorm. Songbird was ready to continue their talk, but there was no time for him to speak. Rain’s troops attacked. The two warriors, one being against fighting, the other caught sleeping, and a young apprentice stood no chance.

The grey tom loomed over Bacup picking himself up from the ground. “You fought…”, it appeared that he was stopping himself from laughing. “…valiantly. I hope the message is clear. Next time we won’t hold back.” And with that the group left.

“So that’s it then?” Bacup slowly walked over to his mentor. “No. We won’t back down. Next time they come we’ll be ready.” The apprentice lays his ears over his head. “Uhhh, I mean Northstar isn’t that bad, maybe we could talk to her…” Songbird cuts him off. “No. We’ll train and we’ll prepare. This is our land! Are you with me?” Bacup is unsure about this, but his mentor is the closest person to him right now and he gets so easily and deeply attached. He’d follow him to the depths of hell. “Yes! Let them come, we will stand strong!” Song smiles at him despite his aching body. “Today, we won. It might look like we’ve lost, but we’ve won. They left and we still have our land. And we’re going to keep it.” The two look around their territory with grins on their faces and start licking their wounds.

Jinx has grown attached to Ekko. She named the kitten and even though she can’t raise it, she comes to the nursery to check on her and is deeply offended when Nigtfall becomes her mentor. She’s certain that he’s wrong about her and will hold a grudge against him.

Nightfall has never been more scared in his life. Living as a rogue was so much easier. There was just him and his own self was the only one he had to worry about. Now there were orphaned kits and this silly frog-lover that he really cared about for some reason. They managed to get him out of the water and Night escorted him into the Sylph’s den. Since Star didn’t need any herbs, just rest, Night licked the water off him, helping him get dry and lied next to him to warm him up with his own body heat. Star didn’t seem even half as shaken about the experience as Night was. He nuzzled into Night’s fur with a smile, his body still shaking. “This is nice. We should do this more often.” Night licked his ears and put his head on top of the smaller toms’.

The next time he went hunting Nightfall chose to scavenge for food near a human city, rather than going down to the river. The sight of water made him anxious. Before it was his favourite place to rest and spend time at, but now he preferred to stay away.

When Northstar finds the elder during her patrol she tells her to scoot because there is no space in her clan for freeloaders. An old cat that can bring nothing to the clan is not welcome. The sadden molly is later approached by Songbird who, after hearing that North chased her away, invites her to join his clan. He omits explaining that it doesn’t actually belong to him. The molly is tired from her journey and and thanks Song for letting her rest and eat.

Fortune holds a special yoga class for maids.

This is the first time Bixley isn’t guarded by the maids or her brother. She full explores this opportunity and spends the moon making various decorations out of leaves and sticks and has the time of her life.

--The alligators are coming back, attacks and sightings becoming more frequent, much to the clan's alarm. The clan is still split on what they should do, but most cats are saying that they don't want to leave just based on suspicions... Yet Scorchlight is still shaking her head, her sinking feeling only getting worse, despite the unusual silence from The Fallen about ChaosClan's situation.
--Sealstripe has her kits, fiercely protective of them already. Dugongkit, Bambookit, and Walruskit are welcomed into the world. In the same vein, the nursery continually grows, as Honeycloud, Rustfreckle, and Honeycloud's kits are found by Walnutblaze and brought into the clan. The older warrior is strangely protective of Honeycloud and her kits, and Mockingbirdstar only vaguely knows why, partially remembering a very sweet motherly cat when he was an apprentice, the mother of Walnutblaze. It reminds him of his own late mother, and he respects Walnutblaze for his caring towards the new queen and her kits, watching the warrior take on a grandfatherly role for the kits, who quickly latch onto him and adore him. Rustfreckle is hesitant of the clan at first, but seeing that Walnutblaze is just as protective of her family as she is, she accepts him as her own fatherly figure as well; it just takes a while for her to warm up to him.
--Stormpaw congratulates Tornadospark on passing, surrounding himself with his family and keeping his spirits high despite still being an apprentice. "I'll get it next moon!" He vows, a big smile on his face. Inwardly, he is a bit disappointed his littermates were able to reach their warriorship faster than him, and talks to Thundercloud about his insecurities. Being the soft and gentle dad that he is, Thundercloud offers his support, and is proud of Stormpaw no matter what.
--Popcornpaw seeks out Novacloud, still thinking of them as an older sibling, much to Novacloud's dismay. They often hide in the shadows from Popcornpaw, too overwhelmed with the apprentice's relentless talking. Sunshinebreeze finds the cat, lightly telling them that Popcornpaw looks up to them and that they can just send the apprentice on mindless tasks, or tell them to practice training, reflecting on how he was the same way as an apprentice, always trying to bother the warriors he looked up to. Novacloud sighs, thanking Sunshinebreeze, hanging around him because he was always able to get Popcornpaw to calm down or go away. The pair begin to bond, something akin to more than friends... though neither are willing to admit it.

WEATHER !!

GREENLEAF || The heat is nearly unbearable in some places, yet it is also welcome and comforting in others. The sun stays in the sky for longer than any portion of the year, and most creatures are active at dusk and dawn. Kittings come easier, and prey is easier to find. However, twolegs lurk in the shadows as they encroach upon the territory of the Clans. Perhaps some cats, desperate for water, linger upon your borders. In any case, this is a season which provides more happiness than sorrow.

Outnumbered and inexperienced, the rouges were quickly overpowered, but not without giving the battle patrol their own scars.
↳ Skatetooth was given some trouble as his opponent was a much bigger cat than he is and suffered severe infected injuries to his back, cheek, and hind right leg. He'll need +1 chervil, +1 honey, +1 horsetail, and two moons of rest in order to make a full recovery. He also gained permanent scars.
↳ Charstar was lucky, only developing a minor infection on his hind left leg that needs only one moon of rest to make a full recovery.
