Ibala's eyes were still sealed shut, as well as his ears were closed. He could feel the heat from his mother, remembering her smell and staying close to it. The male cub could hear muffled shouting, not exactly understanding what it was. However, he was startled when a splat of something wet and sticky hit his soft fur. It smelled rancid and odd, something he wanted off of him. Soon, the long tongue of who he assumed was his mother was covering him and going through his fur with quick laps. He didn't understand what was going on, but was glad to have the odd liquid off of him.

Impisi was shaken by the encounter with the male lion, but did his best not to let it on. Thankfully hunting gave her time to clear her mind and catch an antelope worth 3 servings.
While the two members of the pride had made it through the fight with miraculously little more than a few cuts and bruises, Nomvula wrenched her paw carrying her son to a more suitable camp. Can't raise the little ones next to a corpse!
In two posts time the attack and its injuries will be little more than a memory.

Raja was a big softy, really. Kimmati could see it in his eyes whenever he was around the cubs.
“Mam! When can we go out to explore!” Nana asked, for what felt like the hundredth time. Mauna nodded enthusiastically to that idea. The older, larger cub still hadn’t spoken, but it was obvious from how the two of them acted that Mauna was in charge. Mauna could silence her sister with a single look when she wanted to. It seemed like she wasn’t speaking because she just didn’t see a need to, or maybe she’d developed such expressive eyes as a compromise from not being able to speak. Either way, she seemed to be managing well enough, and it was always clear what she wanted.
Raja didn’t try to egg them into anything, (or try unsuccessfully to give them meat) but he did play with them, letting the two of them use his tail as a toy, and climb all over him. Mauna had even tried eating his ear at one point, and Raja had pretended that it had been some skilful attack (and Kimmati had tried not to make “aww”ing noises, because they really were too small to think of them as anything other than infants yet). Kimmati thought he was making a rather good father to the cubs, even if it was unintentional.

Raja did catch himself a little hare of one serving, the male found himself something more interesting on his trek. A young lioness more than happy to join a growing pride!

Garmadon sighed. They had to risk it, Misako needed food. He picked up the boar, and began to drag it back to base. Misako would be birthing soon enough, he had to get back to her quickly!

Misako does not react well to the boar and her birthing is greatly troubled, leaving her tired and weak. She delivers four cubs, but two of them don't make it.

Kimmati was pleased when she saw Raja returning with a young lioness, as well as some prey. The lioness looked slender, so she would likely be a strong runner and reasonably reliable at catching nippier prey. She would be a welcome addition to the pride. The prey however? Just one measly small hare. No-where near enough to sustain them properly.
But having a new hunter was definitely a good sign.
“I am Igala. My pride recently suffered during the winter, and many of them starved. I came looking for food however I could find it, and Raja has kindly invited me into the pride, if that’s alright?”
“Of course it’s all right. I need more hunters to help support my cubs anyway.” She turned her head to her cubs, whom she had curled up around as they slept.
The other lioness practically seemed to melt as she saw the two cubs.
“They’re adorable! What are they called?”
“This one’s Mauna, and this is Nana.”
Raja left the two females to get acquainted at this point, not wanting to partake in needless chat about the cubs at the moment.
“I take it you’re only with his pride for the sake of having cubs.” Igala said, in dropped tone as soon as Raja was out of ear-shot. Kimmati nodded.
“I see little point in males apart from in having cubs. Males sleep almost all of the day, and if I’d had any other hunters, I wouldn’t have needed him at all to look after them.” Igala snorted in amusement, and then nodded in agreement.
“Then I assume you don’t mind me doing the same? We’d both benefit, as our cubs could each hunt for each other’s.”
Kimmati nodded. “If you want to become a second queen at any point, I’ll happily support you.”

the pride of moeru honō have a burning desire to fulfill their purpose. they are quite determined and driven, only giving up as a last resort. these lions are very stubborn and can sometimes be a bit rude. they aren't afraid to speak their minds, and are very courageous. the pride sticks together, only looking out for each other. they have a hard time trusting other prides, but usually don't start fights. lionesses are to be treated with respect. the king can have a short temper sometimes, but is usually fair in his ruling.

the dead are an important part of life in the pride of moeru honō. the spirits of the deceased are more commonly known as Yūrei. the lions believe that Yūrei walk among them and that they will either protect the pride or harm it. the pride fears Yūrei and does whatever is needed to stay on their good side. many lions see Yūrei and the king often has dreams about them. when a lion dies, they are to be buried as soon as possible. to wait is to disrespect the dead. to name a cub after a lion who has passed, the mother must go the Mountain of Tamashī at night and sleep. she will have a dream where a spirit gives her permission or denies her.

their territory is a regular savanna, with mountains in the west. the Mountain of Tamashī, which is in the east, is where the pride believes many spirits reside. the king travels to this mountain every six moons, to communicate with a spirit through his dreams. Sutorīmu is the stream that passes through the pride's territory.

Darling nudged Cross closer to her own cubs, making sure the male cub was safe and far from his sick siblings before getting to her paws, looking over at Adelaide who was curled protectively around her sick daughters. "I'll be back." She mewed to Adelaide before heading out of their protected section of the camp.

"Mersey, I'm going to go speak with our ancestors." Darling mewed. Mersey gave her a confused look. "Our pride guards the echoes of our ancestors. The oldest queen is allowed to speak with them when we need help. Adelaide will lose her daughters if we don't find help."

"I'm going with you." Mersey said. "I was about to leave to go on a patrol and hunt anyway."

kosuke glanced over at kiwa, his only queen. he liked her a lot, and was very glad to have a friend to turn to. they had known each other for about two months, when kosuke left his pride to start his own. kiwa was a loner at the time, and the two were grateful to find each other. it didn't take long for them to realized that they made a good couple. they were both persistent and out-spoken, yet they respected each other. both were far from lazy, and were good at completing tasks together. kosuke could be a bit hot-headed at times, but kiwa always knew how to calm him down.
since then, the pair had travelled in search of a decent territory that wasn't already claimed. they had been in the savanna for a few months, and were comfortable in their new home. the territory had decent prey and little competition, which was the best kosuke could ask for. kiwa padded over to the king, nuzzling him affectionately.
"kosuke, i think we should consider having cubs."
"yeah," the lion said, nodding his head. "we need cubs if this pride is to be large. without cubs, a pride is nothing." the king's stomach rumbled, causing kiwa to giggle.
"and to have a large pride, we need food."
"hush." kosuke muttered, pawing at the queen playfully. kiwa returned the action, swatting at his ear. the male shook his head, licking the queen's cheek before standing.
"well, if you're going hunting, i might as well check to make sure no one's crossing into our territory."
"okay, kosuke. ill meet you here," kiwa said, giving the king one last nuzzle before leaving.

My pride is the Pride of Broken Hearts. Their territory is located in a savanna where prey runs. The pride gets its name due to most of the members having lost someone they loved or being cast out from a previous Pride. The prides nature is soft and caring, though they can be ferocious, the lions within the pride want every other to feel welcomed.

Pride Name: Pride of Star Fire

The lions of this pride are mostly bright coloured. Black lions are considered bad luck. The pride resides around a marsh and a stream. These lions are friendly towards allies and aggressive towards enemies. They are worthy friends and powerful enemies. Though they seem aggressive, they have a kind and soft side too.
