Just a quick note: I changed 'Queens' to 'Royalty' just for ease; Gals are Queens, Guys are Kings, and NB Peeps are Royalty, to stick with the theme of 'Queens' (it's the same role, it's just for AFAB cats that are having kits)

Just a quick post of a WIP, I'll come back in and write the story but I had a portion written out and then my computer died and I lost it ;w;

I popped Fawnkit and Gumshoe in the Population area below just so I don't forget, I also popped in Moonclaw and Twigeyes which will be my Dec 18th and Dec 25th cats (I've sent them over on Discord already)

the lost souls are a clan of cats. cats who are different, they're lost. they're unique. the cats are quite quirky, and often have
a comeback to everything. the lost souls' reputation is normal. they don't meet other clans as often. to find their camp, you must go
through a tunnel, which is very dark. then you will encounter their camp. it's in the middle of a forest, and they have a waterfall, which is used to communicate with their ancestors, the found ones'. yet sometimes, after death, cats may go to the forever lost. that's where all of the
bad cats go.

He padded towards the creek as though he knew something, his long, thin tail lashing back and forth in excitement as he stumbled upon a flat marshland. Blue eyes wide as the sun, Ferretstar inhaled deeply, glancing about as he took in the scenery. Yes, this would work - most excellently, at that. He strode forward as he began exploring his new territory, several billion questions flooding into his mind. What sorts of prey live here? Were there any predators? Would Poppy like it?
Ferretstar froze, brow furrowed in concentration. Would Poppy like it? The old molly had always liked her cushy, private life, but she was willing to follow Ferretstar to the ends of the earth and back, stars bless her. Ferretstar didn't know what he'd do without his beloved by his side; Poppy had always been the light at the end of the tunnel for him, even as a clumsy warrior aged cat. They were young and foolish - times were simpler back then, but it didn't matter to Ferretstar. What mattered was getting this place fit and ready for Poppy's arrival, and then showing her. Ferretstar hummed as he padded through - what a lovely surprise this would be, right?

Lotusstar smiled around the clan as she met the gazes of her cats. Behind the clan, which was assembled in its entirety, two flickering forms stood. Phoenix and Banshee had come to watch this, the first true apprentice ceremony of Phoenixclan. Perhaps it would have meant more if Daisykit had been born into the clan, but Floppyears was drawing closer to her due date, so it was only a matter of time before the first clanborn kits were born. Well, technically. Though Floppyears would mother the first kits born into the clan, Lotusstar also looked forward to the day that two cats of Phoenixclan would become mates and have kits.

Focusing back on the present (though the future sounded ever so lovely) Lotusstar waved her tail for silence and began to speak. "Cats of Phoenixclan, we are honored today by the presence of Phoenix and Banshee, who have come to join us for this ceremony. Daisykit, come forward little one."

The blue and white kit padded forward, his head high and blue eyes sparkling. "Daisykit, though I lament that we were never able to find your birth parents, I am proud to say that you have grown with the clan. And as a clan grows, it is time for the next part of your journey. Fuzzribbon, please step forward."

The curly haired molly padded from the semi-circle of cats, head lifted proudly and her curly fur gleaming in the sunlight. Lotusstar nodded to the she-cat, and then turned back to Daisykit. "Daisykit, you came here with Rhododendronpaw, and while I am sure if you were just a bit younger, she would have made a fine mentor for you, as it is, she still has to complete her training."

Nodding to Daisykit, Lotusstar continued "From this day forward, Daisykit, child of the clan, you will be known as Daisypaw. May your training progress blessed by the spirits, and may you learn all your skills as you are taught."

"Fuzzribbon," Lotusstar said, turning to the white and brown molly "I have chosen you to train Daisypaw for your compassion, and the care you have shown Daisypaw these past moons. May the souls guide your paws and words as you train Daisypaw."

Fuzzribbon gave Daisypaw a lick on the top of his head, and lowered her own for him to lick her cheek. Smiling down at the kitten, she whispered softly "Im so proud of you little blossom."

Daisypaw beamed up at her, his chest puffed out and his tail erect. Fuzzribbon glanced at Lotusstar, and the leader nodded. Fuzzribbon smiled, then led Daisypaw away to sit with the rest of the clan.

"Hurricanepaw, Spiraldapple, step forward."

The two toms, both new to the clan, stepped before Lotusstar. "You are both new to our ways, but you are not new to eachother. As the clan will teach you, Spiraldapple, I entrust you to the teaching of Hurricanepaw. Guide him on his journey well, and the clan will guide you both in our customs and ways. We welcome you to Phoenixclan." She bowed her head, and let the two toms lick eachother as Fuzzribbon and Daisypaw had done.

The two toms returned to their place in the assembly, and Lotusstar let out a shout "We welcome you as growing members of Phoenixclan!"

"We welcome you!" the rest of the clan repeated, voices reaching into the sky.

As the voices died away, Phoenix stepped forward, her flaming wings folded against her sides. Beside her, Banshee stalked forward, eyes gleaming as she looked around the clan. "Phoenix, Banshee." Lotusstar greeted "I thank you for coming today. You honor our clan with your presence."

Phoenix bowed, and Banshee dipped her head. "I am honored you sought to invite me," Banshee growled "and I thank you, for allowed my presence in your camp. Despite my role as the overseer of the Evil Souls."

Lotusstar nodded "I invited you as was the right thing to do Banshee." she said "I know there will be moons when I must ask you to send me cats, as I know that you require a sacrifice of some sort when those moons come. I do not wish your sacrifices to be the lives of my clanmates."

Banshee let out a rusty purr "So inviting me was to try and stay in my good graces hmm? And what if I claim the soul of one of your clans cats, right now? In response to your...scheming?"

Lotusstar lifted her chin and spoke softly "Then that is your right as a leader of souls. But I beg of you, do not punish my clan for my choices. You and Phoenix are both invited to all ceremonies of importance, as is your right as our soul leaders. I implore you, do not harm those under my lead for my....scheming, as you put it."

Banshee hummed and turned to scan the clan, which had already dispersed. "Your clans souls are unclaimed so far, but if you or your clan continue to try and...sway me, then I will claim a champion of the souls here." That said, Banshee's body melted into shadows, and she vanished.

Spiraldapple led Hurricanepaw into their new home forest and paused, glancing around the trees. There were a few new growths, but nothing strong yet. Most of the trees thick enough for a proper climbing lesson were charred black. It was risky, but it would have to do.

"Look around for a tree that is sturdy and at least as thick as you are long." Spiraldapple instructed. Hurricanepaw nodded, and padded away to search the trees. As his apprentice walked away, Spiraldapple glanced up at the skies, wondering just how he and his son had come so far.

Spiraldapple had been born to a set of wealthy twolegs, along with his littermates. Due to the extra toes in his forepaws, his old humans had found it too hard to sell him, and had thus set him out into the world. He'd wandered the town for a while, living off of scraps set out for him, until he met Hurricanepaw's mother.

Twist had been a loner, like himself, but she was far more self-sufficient. She taught him how to hunt, how to heal his injuries, and how to climb to stay away from the Catchers and from dogs. It hadn't taken long for him to fall in love. A few moons later, Hurricane was born. Weak from kitting, Twist was caught by the Catchers and Spiraldapple ran away with his son.

And now, ten moons later, after teaching his son everything he could, Spiraldapple had a chance to teach Hurricanepaw something more. He could teach his son honor, responsibility, and loyalty. Things a loner couldn't always afford to have. But a clan was different a clan was family.

A family that would help his son much more than being a loner ever could.

Warmth is spreading!
