ShimmerClan had been founded in the misty woods.

What now? That was a question on Flickerstar's mind. The calico had heeded the words of the strange starry cats that appeared in her dreams, she had set up a camp fit for an entire group of cats.

A Clan... Sounds weird. Silly, even. But the star cats were insistent, so she had to do it.

Flickerstar heads out into the woods for a quick walk, walking along all the familiar paths and streams she'd known since kithood. Maybe making a group wouldn't be too hard. She knew many cats lived within these woods, if she could just find them...

Before she knew it, she was at a pool. Not an uncommon sight within the misty woods, but.. This pool felt different. It shimmered like stars, had some kind of shine to it that felt unnatural. Flickerstar was curious, it felt sort of familiar... She crouches down by the pool and takes a quick sip from it.

Leaf-fall

Weather:

It is a windy day, shaking the leaves off trees. Kits practice their pouncing as they fall to the ground while the apprentices practice on the prey they try to catch. Prey will slowly start to be scarce for the coming leafbare. For now cats should start to stock up on what they can, even loners will start to pop up as they look for a place to settle for the future.

Hunting
Aspstar, Morningwhisper and Thistleheart caught two stoats.
Goldenpoint, Coatiheart and Butterflyleap caught a big fish.

Patrolling
Richterscreech, Orangeray, Sopranocavern and Rookpaw spot a pair of eagles flying over the territory throughout the day. Kits and apprentices should be very weary, any small cat should.
Boarshine, Flamingnose, Valleyrunner and Jucopaw find an apprentice while on patrol.

Gathering
Wolfwhiskers finds marigold and poppyseeds.

Family
Loonfrost gave birth to 1, 2 kits!
One of the kits seemed to have caught kitten-cough soon after birth! They will need catmint and very close monitoring!
Aspstar and Horizonstar were successful and are expecting kits! Horizonstar is due in two moons/posts.
Butterflyleap and Richterscreech were successful and are expecting kits! Butterflyleap is due in two moons/posts.

Training
Ravenpaw learned the fighting skill.
Violinpaw learned the hunting skill.
Rookpaw and Juncopaw learned the climbing skill.

Health
Both Horizonstar and Twilightpaw seem to be better and can return to their duties.

Assessments
Termitepaw passed.

Amberstar yet again went off but this time she had a goal in mind, to find some prey and hopefully a new place to live. The last glimpse of the soft orange sunset faded away into a deep blue though there was some moonlight out so she was able to resume her traveling. Amberstar gently sat down on a good sized rock and observed the landscape while checking the air every so often to catch wind of any prey, she had no such luck but the scent of cats drifted her way. Picking herself up with her hackles raised she lept off her perch and slowly moved across the grass towards the unfamiliar smells. There, within view through the grass were two cats sitting underneath a bush. They seemed to be discussing something when they both paused and looked around slowly with narrowed eyes.
'Must've caught my scent.' Amberstar sighed quietly to herself before standing up and padding over to the two cats who were now out of the bush, they both stood silently for a moment before the silver persian spoke,
"Who are you? I suggest you leave if your looking to take our spot." they growled lowly while their companion observed a few paw steps back.
"I can assure you I'm not looking for trouble, I was not aware you claimed this.. bush." she said skeptically while looking over at the small shelter when the tabby pelted cat stepped forward.
"Sorry about her, we didn't claim this place. we don't have any territory really." they said with an amused meow while the persian watched with disdain.
"Oh? well perhaps you'd like to join in my group then?" She asked the two of them, both seemed a bit hesitant in the idea as they stopped and talked with each-other out of earshot from Amberstar so all she could do was sit and wait for them to come to an agreement about it

Pearpaw paced back and forth in front of the food bowl, he had grown used to the bland taste of kibble that the twoleg gave them and he was starving. Ever since he was bare bellied he found himself hungry all the time.

Mothpaw watched her brother pace and meow for more food, “You need to stop eating so much Pearpaw. You are becoming to much of a kittypet, what are you going to do when we get out of here and you can't even catch some food?”

“That’s if we get out of here, and I am starving!” He complained.

“We will get out, we just need to watch for an opportunity and not the kibble bowl.” Mothpaw muttered. Just as she said that the upwalker that took care of them poured kibble into the bowls and patted Pearpaw, when they reached towards her Mothpaw swatted at them and hissed before darting away. Pearpaw didn’t pay attention as he started to scarf down the food.

In the other room Applenose talked with Mink, “So You’ve had how many kits?”

Mink shrugged, “This will be my fourth or fifth litter. I got caught on purpose because I didn’t want to raise them alone. My mate left without a word.”

Applenose shook her head, “I’m so sorry to hear that Mink. I was taken, but I got caught because Pearpaw and Mothpaw were captured and I just couldn’t let them do this on their own. And I know now that I am expecting.”

Mink shrugged again, she didn’t feel like talking to this random stranger and admitting that she wanted to be bare bellied like Pearpaw and Mothpaw. She knew that meant no more kits but she was fine with that. She had traveled far and wide and had enough litters of kits. She didn’t even stick around to watch them grow, she didn’t even know most of them. She left them with their father and when she couldn’t do that this time she needed to do something. So she decided to make them kitty pets and she would get out as soon as she could.

Applenose thought she would try to change the subject and ask, “Are you excited for your kits? I know I am. It sucks that Mudspots is not here but when I can, I am going to get us out of here and find him.”

Mink let out a sigh, “I guess, I’m not so good with kits. Just let them do whatever they want…” she trailed off, obviously not interested in the way the conversation was going.

Applenose looked so confused but part of her knew Mink would say something like that. She didn’t bring it up again and stayed to herself quietly.

Scorn took the lead this time and was walking ahead, scanning the area and just observing his surroundings. He knew Sugarfoot was somewhere behind him, or so he thought. The molly had somehow managed to slip under his radar once again and when he turned to look back she was in front of him. When he turned around the two cat’s noses touched.

Scorn looked shocked and didn’t move for what felt like moons, noses still touching.

Sugarfoot just smiled and meowed sweetly, “Why don’t we walk together this time?” The tom just stumbled on words and ended up just nodding. As they began together the two cat’s tails twined together and Sugarfoot began to purr.

Scorn was left to his thoughts, mostly in amazement because he was always the one that snuck around, he was the one hard to find, he was the one that was always aware of what was going on. However Sugarfoot was ahead of him, he had trouble finding her, he had trouble keeping tabs on where she was. To him, she was amazing and he was glad that the two would be together like this till the end of his days.

Calla and Maple had come back into the territory, the two have been meeting up with others outside of the territory and sometimes even bring them with. While Calla seemed to be so excited and even asked Maple, “Who do you like?” Maple would just shrug and ask the same to Calla.

Maple was happy that Calla was enjoying herself, though Maple would never admit that she loved Calla. She wasn’t interested in any of the toms they would go out and visit, she hardly even talked to them. Maple did learn more things about Calla and that is something she would hold onto forever, even though it wasn’t said to her, she would always pay attention.

The two mollies made it back to their nests inside of the abandoned garden that they called home. To their surprise they saw Finn there, Maple narrowed her eyes, “What are you doing here?”

Finn raised his tail, “Just checking on you two, you guys are in my neighborhood and I haven’t seen you guys in a while. How are you two doing?”

Maple nodded, “We are fine, just tired.” She meowed in a slight rush, obviously trying to get the tom to leave them be. Maple wanted to be alone with Calla now, the only cat stopping that is the flirtatious leader, she was tired of hearing that.

Finn nodded, “I actually need some help. See, this family was taken from their home and given to the upwalkers. Two of them have been bare bellied and the mother is soon to give birth. She fears for them and wants to get out once the kits are old enough. So maybe in a moon’s time. However, they are locked in an upwalker nest and I don’t know how to get them out.”

Calla was quiet, she heard about bare bellies and knew they would not ever have kits. It was Maple that talked to him, “Upwalkers keep cats like that as pets.” she meowed the last word like it tasted bad. “How are you going to get them out of that? They would need to be at the ready when doors open and just run. That will be hard with kits because they are slow. They will be used to upwalkers too.”

Finn nodded, “That’s why I want as many paws as I can get to help out. I am slowly coming up with a plan, I just need the extra paws.”

Calla spoke up this time, “I will be there to help, you just need to let us know when.” Maple held back a sigh, she did not want to help, she did not want to risk Calla getting caught. That seemed to be that though, Finn left with a nod, “Good night beautifuls.”

Maple was finally alone with Calla, “You want to help them, even though you don’t know them?” Maple asked, worry was in her voice.

“Of course I want to help. What if that was me in there? You would stop at nothing to get me out. We don’t know their story so we can’t judge them. We can help them though, they obviously want out or they would have never sought help.” Calla explained.

“I just don’t want you to get caught Calla. I care about you a lot…” she finally admitted it and Maple could feel her ears grow hot.

“Don’t worry Maple, I will be fine. You taught me so much and I don’t want to go back to that life.” Calla seemed to have taken Maple’s confession wrong and though Maple was a tad hurt, she didn’t care. With that the two curled up together and fell asleep for the night.

Crabstar was out trying to catch some prey for his newly created clan, when he encountered another cat. The cat had just walked up to him and said, "Hi!"
Crabstar looked up and saw a grey female cat. "Uh, hi?" he meowed, tilting head head. When the cat didn't respond - she seemed to be looking at some bug or something - he asked, "Would you like to join my clan?"
The cat looked up. "Why, sure! This would be much better then my current life." She smiled. "My name is Stone," she meowed. "What's yours?"
"My name is Crabstar. Is it okay if I change yours to fit the clan naming traditions?" Crabstar meowed.
She answered without any thinking at all. "Of course!" she meowed. "New life, new name, am I right?" Stone said.
Crabstar thought a little, and then said her new name. "Your new name is Stonewish! Because it was my wish to have more cats join my clan. You are the first. Would you also like to become deputy, since you are the first cat to join my clan?"
"Sure. I will make sure to always try my best being deputy. Also, lets go hunting and find some prey. I'm starving," Stonewish said.

A Clan... Sounds weird. Silly, even. But the star cats were insistent, so she had to do it.

Flickerstar heads out into the woods for a quick walk, walking along all the familiar paths and streams she'd known since kithood. Maybe making a group wouldn't be too hard. She knew many cats lived within these woods, if she could just find them...

Before she knew it, she was at a pool. Not an uncommon sight within the misty woods, but.. This pool felt different. It shimmered like stars, had some kind of shine to it that felt unnatural. Flickerstar was curious, it felt sort of familiar... She crouches down by the pool and takes a quick sip from it.

within the breath of a single moon, the clan had nearly tripled in size; cumulus thought of the countless days he spent alone, praying for even a single companion to help him with his mission. now he had nine companions, with harp due to give birth any day now and add to their ranks with however many kits she had. he was both excited and nervous about bringing new life into this dangerous world. it was that thought that caused the flame-point tom to stand to his paws and make his way through the old church, nodding his head in greeting and smiling at each cat he passed, although not stopping to talk to anyone; he was a cat with a goal. as he entered the prayer room, he made his way through the rubble that covered the floor; broken wooden boards and fallen pieces of ceiling tile made it a bit of a maze to get to the large altar. climbing gracefully up the side of the square part of the altar, he seated himself towards the top, looking up at the statue of christ attached to the wall before him; most cats didnt dare even touch the altar, but due to his rank as an archangel, he was allowed to go higher, to be closer to the lord.

lowering his head to a bowed state, he shut his blue eyes and began to pray. "heavenly father, i come to you today to ask for safety for harp's unborn kits. with the growing of our own ranks, it is easy to forget that our enemies also are growing. ragged gains followers every day, and with numbers comes power, in his crooked mind. father give me the strength to protect the celestials that you have sent to me, to our clan. you know that i would give all seven of my lives for you, and as such i would give all seven for my troops. kits are the future, the potential to be better than those before them. i pray with all of my being, father, that harp's kits be born healthy and remain safe from the harm that my fallen brother ragged may try to bring. thank you for your protection, amen."

his eyes had barely begun to open when he heard a soft meow calling to him from the edge of the room; standing to his paws, he turned, his blue eyes landing on the large white form of his rit zien, angelica. leaping from his place on the altar, he carefully made his way to her side, nodding to her to speak once he stood beside her in the doorway. "archangel cumulus, i apologize if i distracted your prayer. i sat waiting and only called out when I thought you were done. the patrols have returned, leech & knot found two cats entering the church property from the east. they claim to come from a disbanded clan, and had been led here by their ancestors. i thought you should meet them before they get too cozy with the others, just in case. i've checked them over in my den, and they both appear healthy." cumulus allowed the molly to speak and followed as she lead him to the two new toms, who were mingling among the other celestials in the auditorium hall.

of course he spotted the two newcomers immediately. one was a massive creature with fluffy orange fur who was nearly twice the size of a normal tom; he was larger even than angelica, whose cat host was a forest cat known for its large size. the other was a quite small brown tabby whose face, for whatever reason, reminded cumulus of a baby raccoon; wide eyes and a ring-tail. the room fell silent at his entrance in respect, and the two new-toms had the intelligence to lower their heads in respect as cumulus approached them. "what are your names, and what is something that you believe you could bring to our group, is you were accepted as one of us?" his voice was straight-forward but not harsh, a hint of curiosity in his tone; he wanted to know about these two before making a decision.

surprisingly enough, it was the small brown tabby who took a step forward to speak first, and while not what he had imagined, he gave the young tom the chance to speak. "my name is poolpaw. in our former clan, i was the apprentice of the medicine cat. i am knowledgeable in the use of many herbs in healing injuries and sickness among cats. i am still technically in training, but i was very close to receiving my adult name when the clan disbanded." he met cumulus' blue eyes with a level of strength and confidence that showed maturity beyond his moons, and the archangel was impressed. he turned his attention to the larger orange tabby as he stood to speak his piece. "i go by the name flareblood. i was a warrior in the clan that i came from, skilled especially in offensive battle techniques and getting information from our enemies, through force. feathereyes told me that adult ranks are separated to messenger and soldier, and i believe i would be better suited to be a soldier, if you accept us. i would also like to make it clear that i will only join the clan if poolpaw also allowed to join; we are a package deal. we have lost too many already; we will not lose each other also."

cumulus was impressed by the statements of the two toms; they both appeared to be excellent new candidates for the clan; he wanted to take them straight to the altar to become angelic hosts, but he knew that as angels, unlike his fallen brother, they must be honest with a host instead of deception. the archangel gave the slightest nod of the head, and slowly the other celestials formed a loose circle around the two newcomers; if they chose not to join, they would have to be wiped of their memories of the clan, just to be safe. "i believe that both of you will make great additions to our group, but we must first be honest with you, to allow you to whole-heartedly make your own choices. we are no regular clan; each cat that you see before you goes by two names, has two identities that harmoniously must work together. each cat shares a body with an angel, sent down from heaven. we are here for a reason; our mission is to keep an eye on the crossroads demons in the nearby town, and once necessary, once we have been instructed to go to war by the lord, we will. but we give you the free-will to make the decision on your own."

the two toms looked at each other, their eye contact seemed to last an eternity; it was as though they were having a conversation with one another without verbalizing a single word. finally they turned to face cumulus, and nodded, both muttering something similar to each other about how they would still like to join. the young apprentice even went so far as to make an honest statement; "it may sound odd, but we both struggle to remember our pasts in our old clan; its all bits and pieces anyways." and with that, the entire clan followed cumulus and angelica to the altar room, the two toms following the two higher-ranked cats directly to the altar, and every cat in the room bowed their head and began to pray. a bright light shone through the beautiful stained glass window that lay above the altar, falling directly on the brown and orange tabbies. as the light faded back and their eyes opened, cumulus smiled at the pair. "welcome to the earthly plane, brothers. oriole, flareblood; you will be a soldier, although your special abilities will be considered for special patrols. sky, poolpaw, you will become the grigori, the cheribum who learns under the training of angelica, our current rit zien."
