Welcome to the grand opening of.. Thistlehooves Companions! This is something I've been working on for a while, and something that was meant to be integrated into V1, but I never got around to. With this new feature comes a bunch of new updates and systems, so I hope it can add a layer of gameplay and encourages more worldbuilding for your barns! There will be a bunch of small tweaks to the species guide and relevant forms across the species, so be sure to check over those threads too.
Companions are additional animal species that reside within your barns. Each species has special skills and abilities that can be applied in various places around the Thistlehooves species, so try and make friends with a diverse range of them! Earn MYOs via our leveling system, or purchase additional MYOs via the shop.
Additional species will become available over time, or at certain milestones!

- All main Thistlehooves rules apply.
- You must have an appropriate MYO ticket in order to make a companion.
- You must have a barn before acquiring any companions.
- There are no limits on the number of companions one person can own - you may own as many as you can keep track of.
- Companions do not have a traditional trait system. You are free to make whatever edits you like, so long as the species remains recognizable.
- Custom lines are allowed, as long as the species remains recognizable and is clearly labeled.
- You may revamp or edit your companions as much as you like.
- Companions are not subject to traditional MYO approvals - assume your MYO is approved unless otherwise stated.
- If you are not designing your MYO yourself, you must confirm with your chosen designer before posting your form.
- Designers can choose their own hire prices when making a companion for another user.
- Companions can be sold for their purchase price + art worth, traded or gifted. These trades must be posted to the trade archive with the companion form.
- Think of companions as similar to purchasing an item that improves your stats or unlocks additional content. They are MYOs, but not in the traditional closed-species sense. Primarily they are for fun and to bring some cute critters to your barn!
- Currently, we do not allow offsite companion MYOs. This may change in the future.
