after exploring the island for...well...you don't really know how long at this point, especially considering it's been seemingly stuck in the middle of the night this whole time...it's really skewed your sense of time beyond recognition at this point.

regardless, after having felt more than exhausted from your constant adventuring, at this point you were looking for anywhere to rest your poor feet even if just for a moment...all this collecting candy and being afraid to run into some big scary beast at every turn was one way to completely exhaust yourself!

just as you were about to collapse from pure exhaustion...you saw it!
a large, looming castle embedded into the side of a cliff. huh. you swore you've seen this very cliff many times on your excursions but...you can't put a finger on how you would have missed this entire domineering castle nestled right into the side...moss and vines overtook the messy cobbled stone walls, banners were torn to shreds but still fluttered in the gentle yet frigid breeze, cobwebs were certainly more than abundant across the entire thing...that certainly wasn't a good sign, you weren't exactly sure what could be resting inside these battered and decayed fortress.

nevertheless, you took your weary, exhausted body inside the ominous, towering doors...expecting the worst, but hoping for the best...

the long, almost pitch black if it were not for the moonlight, foreboding hallways seemed to stretch on forever, it made you dizzy staring into the depths too long; so instead, you entered the first door on your left, hoping for something useful...

a library.
a library? well that certainly is nicer than anything else you could have expected, bookcases lined the walls said bookcases were filled to the brim with books, and you could actually make out almost the entire library as it was dimly lit with lanterns...who was upkeeping those? now that you thought about it, there wasn't a speck of dust nor dirt on any of the walls, tables or books throughout the entire library...that was...really odd.

it was at that point when you noticed an incredibly, horribly dark corner of the library that made your skin prickle.
especially with those eyes...those...many...eyes staring at you!?

"hello there..." the voice called to you from the shadows, quiet at first.

"I see you, you can't hide now."
less quiet, and rather scary if you were honest; however, there was something in the way they spoke that didn't give you the feeling of needing to escape, instead, it drew you closer.

no matter which way you tilted your head or squinted your eyes the pitch black in which the voice resided in wouldn't clear away, you just couldn't make out any shapes of the slug before you; so you gave up on viewing the other slug and instead stopped in your tracks to listen...

"it's been a long time since I've seen anyone. very long." the voice was calming in a strange way, perhaps because it had been so long since you've seen anyone as well? after all you ended up on a strange island for days in which it was always night with no friends! very frightening...so the presence of another creature was a welcomed one.

"I see you've been collecting the candies and trinkets from around the island; perhaps you'll be interested in what I have to offer then." they paused for a moment before continuing, "since it's been so very long, I've grown rather bored of all that the books have to offer me, there is nothing interesting in here anymore...I haven't had the chance to talk with anyone or hear of any stories in far too long. I would love if you shared with me...the more you share the more I will reward you with."

rules!

please refer to the main event page for the event rules, this only covers the tomes specifically.

this booth follows EST times instead of CS times.

you must have a co-op archive to participate.

your account must be at least 2 months old to participate.

if you do not own a sluggum, you may still participate by using one of the NPCs offered below or by making up your own sluggum for the purpose of answering the prompt.

make sure you fill out the prompts form in it's entirety and do not miss filling out information, you may pretty up or change the form as you please so long as all the required information from the original form is present, otherwise you will not be given a reward.

you may participate once per prompt opening.

you may choose to participate either with art or writing.

do not beg or whine based on results, these are judged on effort and answers given! you will receive a reward simply for participating but those who have put in greater effort will receive better rewards. some days there will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, other days there will simply be only one special reward to give out; it will most likely change each day.

this is our prompts booth for the event, at this booth you will be given a couple prompt options every 3 days to choose from; then you will answer the prompt with one of your sluggums in which how you choose to interpret it! of course, you are more than welcome to answer just one prompt or all of them, it is entirely up to you!

there is a minimum requirement of 75 words OR one art piece for your prompt answer to qualify for a reward.

the tomes will end every 3 days at ~10pm EST and then the prompts will be judged and rewards given out at and new prompts posted at ~11:59pm EST the same day. along with the rewards, the new prompts will be added within the same post. this is the start to the new daily prompts and you may now go on with answering the next day.
(eg. prompt opening 1 starts on the 25th at ~11:59pm EST, then the first prompt opening closes on the 28th at ~10pm EST. that means the second prompt opening will start at ~11:59pm EST on the 28th, and then close on the 31st at ~10pm EST and so on and so forth.

prompts are going to be judged like classic competitions, in the sense that you will be given rewards based on amount of effort and the answer you have given; the prompts booth runner will decide what rewards to give out to whom but no matter what you will receive a reward for participating, there are just greater rewards the more effort given. the rewards range anywhere from one of the possible event tokens, to an accessory, or possibly even a mystery sluggum!

when posting your form, make sure to fill it out completely when posting otherwise you may not receive a reward!
