~Dragon Island Member's Dragon Lists~
Here you can find links to posts by other members of their dragons!

To have your own post included, please make ONE and only one post where you keep all of your PERSONAL dragons listed (so we can link to that exact post here on this post so its easy for you and others to find)! Also, please title your post with something along the lines of "(Your name here)'s Dragon List" at the very top so that members can easily tell its a page of your own dragons, and not dragons being listed for 2 member breedings or trade. (unless they are, then you are welcome to add to your post that any or one specific dragon may be up for OPEN breeding or trade requests)

Each of the below links, links to a specific post by each member where they have all of their dragons listed.

~2 Member Breedings and Trades How-To's~
Some how-to's on trading and officially requesting two member breedings on the main dragon island topic.

Trading Tips, Suggestions and Info

Trading is solely done between two dragon island members and is NOT at all, monitored run by Dragon Island staff. If a dispute happens between two members, it is up for those members to decide and fix any problems by them selves. If you STILL cant come to happy agreement, you may ASK for staff to help moderate it, but in the end, we may not have the time to help and we can not force either party to submit to the others demands/requests. Act like adults and be civil.

A good idea when requesting a trade is to not confront the person asking if they will give up one of their dragons that you want, but instead listing your own personal dragon you have but want to trade, up for trade requests. Other members may see it and go "Hey I love that dragon! Do you like this one?" and link one of their own for the party to look at. If both parties agree they like each others dragons, and they BOTH accept the trade, then the trade is finished and may NOT at ANY time be revoked. That is one rule us staff WILL enforce. If someone you have traded with all of a sudden wants to revoke a trade that has been completed for what ever reason, please contact Zerna-Darkwolf and she will gently remind the other person, that all trades are final in the eyes of Dragon Island and they are NOT allowed to revoke and be rude to other members. If they continue to harass and be rude, they will be given a warning, and if they continue past that point, banned from the whole of Dragon Island.

Not sure how to put up a request, you are welcome to use this little form below if you want! If not, thats ok to, its all up to you

Code: Select all
Hello, im looking to trade!
The dragon im offering:
What breeds/colors/patterns of dragons I would like offered to me:

2 Dragon Island Member Breedings

This is now being allowed but here is what must happen.

2 member breedings are ONLY allowed to take place in the medium sized nest, this is because of the fact, it will allow each member one offspring so there is no needing to discuss who will get the one egg from the small nest or two eggs from the large. (You are NOT allowed to co-own a dragon)

If you want to request a two member breeding, just offer up one of your dragons here and NOT on the main Dragon Island topic, or ask another member if they would like to breed one of their dragons to yours. Both parties need to work out how the payment is split, and what items will be used and so on and so forth. Once you have agreed upon the details, you can request a nest on the main topic, only one member needs to post the request along with the other dragon island members username, and how all costs are split between the two... but the second member must ALSO post that they have accepted the 2 member breeding request. The next can not be claimed until both parties have posted on the main topic saying it was agreed upon, only then will Zerna-Darkwolf accept your breeding, remove the correct amount of MB from each members freezer total and add your request to the medium sized nest.

Once the request has been accepted and MB removed, no refunds can be made, so please make sure you BOTH are fully ok with the breeding to happen. After the hatchlings have been posted, you get to decide between the two of you, who gets what. Please post here once you have figured it out who gets what, on the fan page, just so us staff are not confused in the future!

If you want, here is a form you can use to request a two member breeding!

Code: Select all

~Suggestions~
All suggestions are listed here! But remember, these are ONLY suggestions, and may not happen.

Dragon Breed suggestions

Got a dragon breed idea? Go ahead and give us your idea and we can add it to the list of possibles! Please do not pick a rarity to go along with the breed, as Zerna-Darkwolf will do that if she likes your idea enough to make it into a breed here at Dragon island. It can be a simple idea, to a descriptive one!

Current dragon breed suggestions:

Spider, Kangaroo, Peacock, lynx or bobcat with feathery wings, Squid Dragon

Event Suggestions

Here is a list of even suggestions! Feel free to toss any suggestions our way. Please no holiday suggestions as those are already in the works and often planned ahead of time any way. You may suggest for small one time events or larger events that are not themed around a holiday!

Current event suggestions:

~Member of the month~
Thats right! You may be the next one!

What is the member of the month?

The member of the month is someone who has been very helpful, or active...friend, silly, offered really great suggestions, improved the Dragon Island community or is just all around great!

Member of the Month stamps are given out to each person who is picked...Customized with one of their dragons on a special "MOTM" stamp! If you are picked, Zerna-darkwolf will privately PM you and request for you to pick one of your dragons to be added to your stamp. Once she has done that, she will then announce publicly the winner for other members to see! You may use this stamp in your signature to show off just how much of a difference you have made in this community! Each member will stay up for one full month, but there may be more of a gap in between each member.

Member of the month!

Congratulations to _______ for being the member of the month!!!!!!

Here is your custom stamp for all to see!

Thank you again for being such a big part of Dragon Island!

~Guest Artist Application Info~
Want to be a guest artist/GA for dragon island, look here for further info.

GA Applications are
OPEN!

Previous successful GA's
Canis.
Saphira344

GA or Guest artists are artists that are hired for a limited time, for a limited run of premade dragons to be handed out in the adoption agency. This does not mean you are at all allowed to use/keep the blank line art provided for coloring for your own reasons and colorings. The blanks belong to Dragon Island and Northern Malagon and are not to be used for personal art/any thing not related to dragon island and your GA position.

Rules that come with being a GA

1. You have read all of the rules, and when accepted as a GA, you must agree to follow them. If you can not agree with the rules, you may not be a GA.
2. Your GA position, may require you to color 5 different markings on the same dragon, or 3 on one line art, and two on another. That is decided by dragon island staff, and not the GA. Very rarely will you get to pick which dragon lineart to color.
3. You may be requested to use specific color combos, but only some times, and maybe only for half of what you are requested to do.
4. Every GA must complete a total of 5 dragons. No more, no less.
5. Every colored dragon, must be PM'ed to Northern Malagon and not posted publicly in any way shape or form. Each must have a fully transparent background, all coloring must be within the lines, the lines must remain un-moded/colored and the red copyright "NM" must not be moved/touched EVER.
6. Your GA rank is not a staff rank. You are not part of full time staff, but a guest artist, having fun and making freebies for other members to possibly get. Please do not make dragons for specific members in mind, as they will all be first come first serve in the adoption agency.
7. All coloring must be done with-in 1 to 2 weeks. If you can not finish 5 dragons in that time limit, please do not apply. Make sure if you are a busy person, you apply during your free time so you can finish your dragons.
8. After your 5 dragons have been finished, checked out by Northern Malagon and given the stamp of approval to be posted, and you have followed all the rules, guest artists will be allowed to color ONE common breed dragon of their own, to keep. Thats your perk of being a guest artist!
9. Once all of your GA job is done, you will no longer be a GA, and if in the future you wish to become one again, you are welcome to apply again! Successful GA's may be given more consideration then new ones if they have done their job well and in a timely manner.

All coloring must be done with a pixel/binary tool. NO soft brush coloring is allowed.
All files come to you either in SAI files (which is what I work in) or a blank PNG picture. If you work in MS paint or other such things that do not allow for transparency, you must find a way to make sure the solid white background is made transparent, this is your job, not the job of Dragon Island staff.

Why do you want to be a GA? : I really enjoy dragon island and what it has to offer. I am a huge fan of dragons, and I really think it would be fun to draw some freebies for others to enjoy.
What is your past experiance with coloring pixels? : I have lots of experience with drawing and coloring pixel style art. I have been doing so for about 2+ years now, and have a good sense of color combos that work and am good at unique patterns and markings.
Examples of pixel art : ((Not posting any since this is an example of correct application, but 3 to 4 examples are better then just one or two))
Do you agree to all of the GA rules: I have read every rule and fully agree to them. I will not break any of the rules.

~Dragon Island History~
The history and info about dragon island!

Dragon Island

Dragon Island is set in the current age of 2015ish, but due to how hard it is to get to... there is almost NO new technology on the island. Most of the people still live life in the olden days. Cars are not permitted, to keep the island pristine, and planes are the only access to get on and off the island, and even then, they can only fly to the island if weather permits and to one small runway strip on the far southern edge of the island.

Dragon island is a very VERY LARGE island, filled with a chain of inactive volcanoes, thick jungles, and large grassy planes along with hundreds of miles of sandy beach coastlines. Out in the surf, surrounding the island are large coral reefs and deep ocean trenches. There are also many smaller islands, mostly uninhabited by humans, one still yet to even be explored!

Dragon Island Map

Coming Soon

The Discovery of Dragon Island

Dragon Island was discovered back in the year of 1876, when several large tall ships ran aground on the dense coral reefs. When the survivors swam ashore they were SHOCKED to discover, that the beasts of ancient lore...were real. While the dragons were interested in the new creatures, the men and women felt threatened by the large and small dragons alike and built a small village with a strong stone wall around it. They barred out the dragons, in hopes they could either build a ship to return back home, or wait for a ship to discover them instead.

~Dragon Species Info~
This is where you can learn more about each breed of dragon!

*All dragons eat some sort of meat, be it...meat, or fish or insects. But some also eat vegetation such as veggies, nuts and fruits.

Common Dragon Species:

Image
The Western Dragon
Average height (Shoulder to ground): 7 Feet
Average length (Head to tail): 25 Feet
Diet: Meat, Fish
Habitat: Any
Train-ability: Easily trained
Other Info: While westerns can be greedy when it comes to their gold (just like any dragon) this is one of the more relaxed species on dragon Island. While this species can breath fire, they prefer not to, simply for the fact it makes quite the mess, and these dragons like to keep their lair's and homes clean and well kept. Westerns are wonderful flyers for beginners since they have such large wings, it makes them steady in flight.

Image
The Eastern Dragon
Average height (Shoulder to ground): 4 feet
Average length (Head to tail): 30 feet
Diet: Fish, vegetation
Habitat: Any, but prefer locations with lots of sunning/basking places.
Train-ability: Easily trained
Personality's:Eastern dragons are a gentle kind species. They are often found drifting around on afternoon currents, high up in the air, while the sun is warm on their backs. This species does not have the ability to breath fire, but instead has a powerful levitation magic (which is how they fly with out wings) often covering their nests with floating light sources and decorations.

Image
The Wyvern Dragon
Average height (Shoulder to ground): 8 Feet
Average length (Head to tail): 25
Diet: Meat
Habitat: Large rocky outcrops in volcanic areas
Train-ability: Easy to moderately trained
Personality's: Westerns tend to be a loner species. They are QUITE the gold horders. They can also have a quick temper, so be sure when training, you use soft and kind words. They are quite the fire breathers, and often light to light things on fire simply because it looks cool and is fun. They love the smell of smoke, so if you bring one into your home, be sure its fire proof, as well as have a fire place where they can go to, to breath fire when frustrated!

Image
The Sea Dragon
Average height (Back to belly): 4 Feet
Average length (Head to tail): 75 Feet
Diet: Fish
Habitat: Oceans (salt water only)
Train-ability: Hard
Personality's: Sea dragons are hard to train, simply because its hard to get to them! They live in deep blue waters of the oceans, and can dive down to deep depths that even most human machines take hours to reach. Despite being so long and intimidating in size, this species is a gentle one, feasting mostly on large schools of fish. They often come up to the surface to play in the sun lit waters when it gets a little too lonely in the dark of the deep ocean.

Image
The Drake Dragon
Average height (Shoulder to ground): 5 Feet
Average length (Head to tail): 15 Feet
Diet: Meat, Insects
Habitat: Plains
Train-ability: Moderate
Personality's: Drakes are quick moving dragons. They live in the open grassy plains, and love the feeling of sprinting around. They can be quick to snap but are very patient most of the time, so that does not happen often. They love to collect fire flies to let go at night, to light up the large grassy fields.
