Story Behind their Name:

Myung Kyungja used to hate her name. It was...different. All of the other kids in her school had usual, normal names, while hers made her stand out quite uncomfortably against the rest of her class. Substitutes could never pronounce it right, and kids used to joke about the mispronunciations that came on over the PA system. Her name seemed like nothing but a way to torture the poor girl and she quickly grew to hate it.

Yet as Kyungja began to learn about her Korean heritage, it became less about the jokes and more about the meaning and history behind her name. She began to take pride in her family's culture, learning about her parents' and grandparents' pasts and how that had influenced herself. Her name, Kyungja, is derived from Sino-Korean 慶 (kyung) meaning "congratulate, celebrate" or 敬 (kyung) meaning "respect, honor", then combined with 子 (ja) meaning "child". Kyungja was never given an official meaning for her name, so she likes to imagine that it is a mix of both; her parents were proud of her birth and knew that she would grow up to be an honorable person someday. She only hopes that she can fulfill this role, being the best person she can be.

Story Behind their Name:

Elara's mother didn't have a plan when the kits were born, and Elara was a name the mother in the next bed had in a roster and didn't use, her litter having all male kits. Elara's just glad the next-bed mother didn't have something like Gretchen in the roster. Suzanne is a family name. It's her grandmother's middle name, and HER grandmother's middle name, etc.

Story Behind their Name:
June was born in June! Her mother also loved the sound of it.
The name "June" was derived from the name "Juno", who is the Roman goddess of marriage and queen of the gods.
June's mother truly believed that her daughter would rule the world one day.
June is a little less confident of this, but assures her mother that she will do her best.
