after much consideration between "the explorer" and "the lover", i've decided that anasi is definitely the lover. all she wanted since she could open her eyes was to be loved since it was held mere inches from her grasp so cruelly. she had always known that she was different from the taunts and sneers her siblings and other kits of the group she was born into had thrown her way, but she could never understand what was so bad about her that made her deserve this treatment. she could love the differences and faults in others, so why couldn't they do the same for her? her strong yearning for that acceptance, that compassion, that tenderness that love could bring led her to keres. the one who, once more, laid out love in bits and pieces, crumbs on the floor until she found herself in the middle of a lions den with no way out. the lover's greatest fear is to be "alone, a wallflower, unwanted, unloved", and that's all she was her whole life, when all she wanted was a friend, someplace to call home.

Saying Nightstar is the Ruler seems a bit obvious, and though you could argue for her as the Magician as well, I do think that Ruler fits her very well. She worked with Moongaze to create Moonclan as a safe haven for cats like her, outcast and hidden from their communities for fear of their magical gifts. She's a good ruler- or she was, at first. But she's not near-immortal like the Seer and has a lot of weight on her shoulders, which can only bare so much.

↬ prompt: sundown teeters the edge between the rebel and the explorer, but i think the rebel is the most fitting. though they fit the restlessness and the desire to not be chained down or tied up that the explorer symbolizes, they are, at heart, a revolutionary who wants to prove to themselves and others that radical freedom is achievable, even under the rule of the holy ten. though strife corrino has no set overarching government and instead sectors within the district tend to choose their individual leaders through elections and popular vote, sundown believes every person in a position of power governmentally is corrupt in some fashion- and sundown will never be tied down by the rules and regulations that they enforce in their cities and towns. as a criminal, the choice seems obvious, but the rebel fits sundown for more reasons than the crimes they commit. the fears, for example, are "to be powerless or ineffectual", which fits sundown's general desire to have control over themselves and their destiny.
