A Christmas tree is made of sticks - sticks that should have ornaments donned upon them. Most probably think "hmm, this tree has enough sticks already. It's MADE of sticks."

But not for Tumble. Oh no. For Tumble, there is never enough sticks. You see, whenever she is anxious or nervous about something, she gnaws on sticks as a way to soothe her nerves. But Christmas trees are too bright and vibrant for her to do that' so instead, she opts to help with decorating instead. And her ornament is nothing other than a stick.

She dazzles it differently each year, gluing gems onto the side of it, painting it a variety of colors - no two sticks are alike. This year, she decided to make a hot pink stick with paint the Clerics made out of some flowers. The ornament definitely sticks out among the rest. Tumble can't wait for Christmas day, where she yanks the ornament she made off the tree and begins gnawing it because she is too excited to function.

✧ Prompt: Honeycrisp is a lover of all things holiday and festive related. He has traditionally loved fall the most and any celebrations - such as a harvest - that come with it, but winter themed festivities come at a close second. In following tradition with what he has seen humans do, Honeycrisp has decided to bring a celebration of decorating an evergreen tree located in the forest to life within the clan. As such, Honeycrisp has created the first ornament, something he spent a fairly decent amount of time on. He created a bauble that he painted red, so that it looks like an apple, and added a star on top of the stem. He put a small smiley face on the apple to give it more personality, and happily plopped it onto the TreeClan Tree. Every day he goes through the trail where the tree is, he smiles happily seeing his apple ornament.

✧ Prompt: "Shaozi! Shaozi Shaozi Shaozi Shaozi Shao-" A bouncing bundle of energy made of mottled autumnal colors, excitement dragging her tone to shrill, paces in front of the Jiechu De Gongjiang workshop, her tail flicking behind her eagerly.

"Hellebore? Oh, sstarss above..." The sound within the workshop quiets, the clanging ceasing as the workshop's owner - an exhausted Shaozi - pushes open the beaded strings hanging over the entrance. Hellebore grins at him, her eyes lighting up even as his tone carries across as a tired drone.

"Hellebore, you're making a ruckuss. What could possssibly be bringing you here so-"

"Shaozi! I need you to help me make an ornament. For a new friend. Can you believe it, Shaozi? A newcomer! Isn't that exciting!? Anyways, can you make something reeaaally fancy? Maybe put some gems on it? I'll pay you back, I swear, I swear! I'll advertise for you, oh, or I-I'll help clean up the shop-!"

"Sslow down, Hellebore. The latter offer will be jusst fine, thankss. I'll... make your ornament, ssure. Come get it tonight, and then you can clean."

"Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you!!"

The molly's attempt at an appreciative nose bump is quickly rejected by the disgruntled artisan.

✧ Prompt: Lynxstriker didn't remember being a perfectionist before motherhood found her. Now, she found that there was a pressure in her mind. Being a warrior was simple. Being a queen felt nearly impossible, every cat in the Clan seemed to have thoughts on how to raise her future kits. She wanted to make the perfect decoration to represent the family she was building. Ironically, she would not let Fossilstep anywhere near it. Lynxstriker layered ribbons onto the tree shaped ornament, using a single claw to line everything up perfectly. She planned to press each mini pompom perfectly along the ribbon. Then, hit it all with a dust of shimmer. Sparkly. Festive. Perfect.

Fossilstep pressed into her flank, a silent and supportive rock to wash her growing anxieties upon.

✧ Prompt: Crabcake stared -- green eyes wide and frantic, as was the usual when he was assigned any new task -- at the mess of material at their paws, nervously laughing.
"And I am to... make something... to hang on a tree? With this stuff? From scratch? ...And it can't fall?" The young tom's strained meow rang out with all the grace and glory of a plume of smoke puttering from a fire.
Around him, feathers and rocks of all shapes and sizes tangled with thin strings and scratchy fabrics and belts of mammal-pelt, all laying among hundreds of different plant parts and precious flowers.

"Surely, repeating it to the entire craft circle again will change the requirements!" The irritation-laced growl came from a warm, dusty gray cat, eyes overshadowed by a dark feathered hat. "Perhaps quieting your mewls of complaint and actually beginning your ornament will make this go by faster! Look, everyone else is already nearly done. You're going to hold us up."

Crabcake sunk into his paws as Fellswoop spoke, the scent of shame wefting off of them. Crabcake really did want to understand what to do, but he had no clue where to start -- oh, if only there were some way for him to-

Fellswoop nipped him on the shoulder, dragging Crabcake out of their anxious spiral. Her voice came softer, kinder than before, layered with a slight twinge of regret: "If you really need help on this, I'll show you how to make the loop that'll proper hang on the branch. That'll be a good starting point."

Littlestone wrenched the tip of the spiral seashell from the dense, wet sand triumphantly. There was not a mark of imperfection on it, and completely unoccupied by any little creatures, what a find! It even had the tiniest hole near the mouth of the spiral where she could easily thread twine to hang it from the branches of their decorative tree. But it wasn't... quite enough. She carefully coated the thing in glue, rolled it in the best, most sparkly glitter she could find, and huzzah! It was perfect. A dazzling shell to catch the light, and she could easily make a dozen more. If she could find the shells worth enough, that is.

✧ Prompt: Although the cats of The Last Bastion do not celebrate the holidays as is done by two-legs, Sparkrise likes to bring a little bit of greenery to the pale cold days of leaf-bare by decorating the outside of the medicine den with handmade ornaments (he does not mention this also helps to mask the scent of the ill during those long cold moons). His favourite creation is simple, smelly, and remains green for a decent amount of time. As leaf-fall approaches, he spends some time selecting the best young branches from the coniferous trees in their area, and once the snow has fallen and remains he removes the softest and bendiest of the lot and carries them back to the camp. There, he wets and twists them into spirals and rings, pinning their shapes into place with sharp rocks and thorns he’s collected throughout the year, and then leaves them to dry. Once dry, the verdant pieces of pine hold their shape, and he is able to place them around the medicine den to add a splash of green in the otherwise grey season. If stores are plentiful, and he is feeling especially ambitious, he will use herbs and berries past their prime and stitch these with dried tendon and gut to the greenery for some more visual interest.

✧ Prompt: As with the preceding year of Dodekaimero, Song Of A Myna assumed the responsibility of ornament creation - bearing the minor aid of a relatively new Demiourgós, Vireo Soaring Through Leaves, in present days. Per tradition, she delegated three days before Dodekaimero to gathering scraps from the borders of Astron territory, a few miles beyond, and along the stone columns separating them from "Fallible Men," prior to sorting the scraps into material-based piles directly aside her nest. However, as a consequence of scrap shortages, Myna occupied her time with the limited carving of gods or symbolic animal statue ornaments from wood slabs.

Cowrie does not often work with their mother's clay- though Plover offered to teach them as a kitten, and they submitted to a few basic lessons, they do not like to dirty their paws more than necessary. The clinging dampness of clay, drying into a crust in one's fur, is an inconvenience at best, and a sensory nightmare at worst.

For an ornament, though, they would deign to work with it- kneading with clumsy, unpracticed paws, rolling out a lopsided sphere. Painting it with shell pigments, depicting kitlike figures of their family. They do not have an artist's eye, and the result is heavy enough to bend all but the strongest tree branches, but they still present their ornament with sheepish pride.

Steppingstone would make an ornament out of pine needles, perhaps held together with sticky tree sap, if they couldn't find any suitably sized little bundles. They would lodge them up into any open little spaces above the medicine den, dangling above the entrance to look a little more decorated. And to hopefully lift the spirits of any sick cats coming through, too.

Of course, they wouldn't go any farther than little pine needle bundles. They wouldn't want any useful, important herbs to go to waste, just for festivities. And most of the non-useful plants they know - at least, the ones that look or smell at all interesting - tend to be dangerous... too dangerous to just be lying around camp! So simple needle ornaments will just have to do.
