DAY 1: Introduce yourself!

Gura beamed, trotting over to Rutherford in order to introduce herself. She pushed her mask up to sit between her horns, letting the base sit against the horn on her forehead.

"I'm Gura, nice to meetcha! Follower of the Implord, lover of mischief and friendly chaos!" The bright Lambie chattered excitedly, dancing in place slightly. "I'm not too familiar with this whole wintertide stuff but I'm well excited learn!" Gura cheered.

"I didn't manage to get to The Festival Of Dreams but I enjoyed the Harvest shenanigans! As for where I come from? Kind of all over the place really, if a place isn't interesting then I won't stay long before I flit off for the next place! Maybe I'll settle one day, maybe I won't" Gura replied with a shrug and small smile.

"My home town was this really tiny place way out in the country, everyone knew everyone there so we all just were kind of tight-knit" Gura spoke again

Gura sat down, firmly pondering the question she had been asked. It wasn't one she was usually asked and it had thrown her sightly.

"I think it was or is I guess, making homemade hot chocolate? I'm not really sure, winter holidays back where I'm from originally were just this celebration of everything winter. Lambies would make warm stuff for each other and cool ice-sculptures, all really great things" Gura mused aloud

"I'm Remmi, and this is Tempura!" The bouncy little rat Lambie beams at the elder. "You like swing dancing? That's sooo cool! I love swing!"
The shrimp-tailed Lambie beside her shyly perks his ears, his long tail curling around him. "Blue is very nice," he murmurs. "I like fish...I use lots of different ones to make sushi. I hear fishing is very peaceful, but I'm not much for the water..."
"Hehe, Tempura's kinda anxious all the time, but he makes really good food!" Remmi chitters happily. "I love baking, and animals, and Wintertide, and pink! Well, I love all colors, but pink is my favorite. And energy drinks, but Tempura says I'm hyper enough that I shouldn't drink them so much." Tempura nods at this, looking a little tired. Poor guy is the exact opposite of his companion.

"Castellina is where I'm from too! Well, sorta." Remmi's eyes sparkle. "I grew up in a little meadow town not far from Castellina, the fireworks were always my favorite!"
"And I'm from a fishing village not far from here," Tempura adds, his voice soft and a bit raspy. "I've never been fishing myself, but I was brought up in the kitchen. My village raises Lambies to do specific jobs, if they choose, and I always preferred the safety of the warm ovens and cold fish freezers..."

"Woooow, that sounds like so much fun!" Remmi swishes her long rat tail with excitement. "I love decorating too! I put up TONS of lights just like that! They're so pretty at night!"
"Remmi makes the most wonderful sugar cookies," Tempura adds, smiling a little. "I always look forward to them. Back home the fishers have an ice fishing competition, and then the cooks make a huge Wintertide feast with all the fish! I try a new recipe every year."
Remmi giggles. "One time he mixed peanut butter into some squid just for fun. It was soooo awful!"
"That wasn't my finest moment, but it was pretty funny..."
"My mama and I used to bake sugar cookies every Wintertide," Remmi explains. "When I can't get home for Christmas I make a really big batch to share! I looooove using all the different sprinkles and stuff to decorate them! I even have a special rat shaped cutter!"

"Besides the cooking and baking, of course," Remmi flashes a mischievous grin, "I like to get my paws on aaaall the sweets I can find! Especially new ones! I loooove sugar!"
Tempura sighs a little warily. "You really don't need it either..."
"But it's so tasty! Like cotton candy! Everyone loves cotton candy! I like peanut butter candy, and brownies, and cookies, and those little ice cream beads, and cake, and..."
While the rat Lambie continues to rattle on about sweets Tempura turns back to their host. "When I'm not in the kitchen or writing new recipes I just like to relax. Some hot tea or apple cider by the fireplace was my favorite comfort time at home and still is. I poke at a traditional kind of flute sometimes, too."

Tempura gives a small smile, still a bit shaky from the scare and then rushing to the basement. He's much too anxious for this kind of thing, but the question puts him at ease quickly enough. "As you've probably gathered, I'm a cook. A fish cook, specifically. I can make a lot of things with seafood...but I prefer to make sushi and the like. It's safe work, really..."
"And I bake! I'm an artist...of sweets!" Remmi responds as dramatically as possible, her eyes wild and her bright pink hair a mess from the wind. "Macarons, cupcakes, cheesecakes, cinnamon rolls--oh man, now I'm hungry!" She bleps her tongue out in a silly manner.

: Do you check out the upstairs/or explore the basement? What do you find?--

Tempura barely even waits to hear the rest of Rutherford's tale before he's hiding in a corner behind some boxes, curled into the smallest shape possible. He's terrified-- if someone had told him there'd be a storm he would've stayed home!
Remmi on the other paw perks right up. "Ooo, spooky. I'm gonna go upstairs, I wanna see them!" She trots up with a small group, wandering until she finds some food that's not been bothered by the storm. The rat Lambie steps lightly when she notices a patch of broken glass and cleans it before taking the food back to the basement.

"Oh, I haven't met anyone to my fancy yet." Remmi shrugs, but a smug grin crosses her face. "When I do, they'll never be able to resist my baking, anyway!" She giggles.
Poor Tempura has poked out from hiding to listen, the stories helping his anxiety a little. "No one for me either, romance is scary." Remmi can't help but snort a laugh at him.

: Do you escape with Rutherford, or do you stay with the Wind-Watcher? What happens to you?--

It's all Tempura can do not to screech in terror, and he's back in his corner in no time. Remmi's on her paws and hooves in an instant, staring in both awe and terror at the Wind-Watcher. But it's best not to stick around-- she shoves a macaron in her mouth and bolts to after Rutherford.

The rat Lambie paces for a moment, unable to stand still. "I'm going back." She's not of use stuck in a tunnel and she'll be bored standing around anyway. Remmi scampers off to try and find her way back to Rutherford, or the basement, whichever comes first.

Remmi's head snaps up and she races toward the call, hooves clattering against the floor. She's fast, actually, too fast-- she barrels right into the minion snarling at Rutherford. With a startled squeak she jumps up and backs away, standing close the other Lambicorn and squinting hard at the minion. "Leave him alone!"

What is your journey finding Rutherford with the Wind-Watcher like? What's happening to him when you arrive?:--

Now it's terrifying and freezing. Tempura's night just keeps getting worse. He's curled up, shivering, tears threatening his ever-closed eyes, and now the elder knows where he is. The shrimp Lambie cowers in his spot, reluctantly following the group into the tunnel.
He barely keeps up, his tail wound around him and his head down. Tempura just wants to go home, and almost jumps out of his short fur when there's a yell for help somewhere in the tunnel. Finally they find Rutherford and the others-- and Tempura spots Remmi. He's half tempted to run to her but that would mean going past the Wind-Watcher which...is not happening.

"Tempura!" Remmi bounds to her friend, pressing herself between him and the erupting chaos. The poor shrimp Lambie is barely cut out to cope with the world, much less fight. Both gasp at the Wind-Watcher's burst of power. "They can take away magic?!"

"We have to help them!" The rat Lambie lets out a high-pitched scree and charges at the closest minion, helping other Lambicorns fight them off. "Get lost!"
Tempura cowers away from the continued fighting, slumping to the floor and hiding his face in his tail.

"No way..." Remmi can't help but stare at the transformation, almost forgetting the growing sensation of weakness as her magic is drained. She's torn, unsure if she should protect Tempura or help Rutherford, until she realizes the shrimp Lambie has vanished. A quick glance around and she spots his fried tail-- he's tucked himself around a corner to hide, so Remmi steps between Rutherford and the fearsome elder.

"Tempura, Tempura, come look, there's presents!" Remmi's relief quickly turns into excitement and she runs over to drag her friend back into the corridor. "Wasn't that amazing? The goddess saved us! She's incredible!"
"Thank goodness..." The poor shrimp Lambie looks terribly frazzled, his cheek floof sticking out everywhere. "I'm so glad it's over."
"I hope she accepts your invitation sometime!" Remmi grins at Rutherford. "It sounds very romantic." The rat Lambie giggles and dives into opening a gift. What a night!

Marshmallow pondered for a bit but decided it was best to give an honest answer: "I'm not really sure. One day my mom found me while she was walking in the snow. She said I was curled up into a little ball and was asleep. I don't remember anything from before my mom picked me up but that's okay! I love my mom lots as she gave me a warm place to stay and lots of treats! She has raised me the best she could. She never gave up even when I was a tough lambaby to control.

(Answering as myself!) My family has always been a bit on the poorer side so Christmas was never really centered around getting expensive gifts. We would wake up and have a really yummy breakfast and then open presents. I mostly spent the day with my family listening to all kinds of thrilling stories. I suffer a bit from having older brothers as they love to have nerf battles, boxing matches, or just straight up play-fighting. I love them to death though and they are really protective of me. If we did end up with something cool we would all take some time to play with it a bit. My Christmas has always been more relaxing than an extravaganza.

Megan blinked, confused as to why he was asking her so much about herself. Nonetheless, asking a question she had technically already answered. She shrugged it off and answered it again anyway. "Oh, well I suppose my main hobby would have to be singing. But don't tell anyone about that! And certainly don't ask me to sing in front of you... I'm too shy to do that yet. I wish I could be a famous singer, but I'm so scared." Megan blinked in surprise again. She had no idea why she blurted out so much information.

Pistachio sat next to Jordan who was laying on the floor, and began to sip his cocoa as Jordan spoke up. "Well, I usually hang out in trees, take walks in the woods or nap. Occasionally Marnie will set up her canvases and set out paint and help me paint. She says it's good but how would I know?" Jordan crossed one paw over the other, turning his head to the right. Pistachio cleared his throat and Jordan turned his head again but to the left, slightly embarrassed by this.
"Well." Pistachio paused. "I already said I make blankets.. I enjoy games I guess, board games, card games, stuff like that. My favorite is hide and seek though!" He'd smile brightly, his little sharp teeth showing.

Sydney shivered as the door blew open, drawing closer to the fire. "Well... I like to read," she ventured, shuffling her feet. "Even when I don't have to research anything for uni, I still like to find interesting topics to learn about."
"Ah yes, I too enjoy research!" Herrick chimed in in his british accent. "Though my research is quite different from that of my sister. I pride myself on learning all there is to know about the paranormal, including but not limited to folklore, demonology, and the occult."
Sydney huffed at the ridiculous prospect of her brother's research, but otherwise said nothing. Tera wandered over, intrigued by the conversation at hand.
"Hobbies?" the young lambicorn inquired. "Well, I'm an artist, I guess," she muttered, evidently still upset at her mischief having been foiled by Herrick. "I also like pulling pranks and stuff. I board, too - snowboard in the winter, skateboard in the warmer months. I've even tried surfing a few times. Not really my jam, though."
