"the songs on the radio are okay, but my taste in music is your face."

"a special someone? let's see.."

───────

according to his best friend, callisto didn't need to find love. but if he did, daizo had to be the first one to know about it. so when callisto did fall in love, naturally, the first thing he did was tell his best friend.

"i dunno, man, like, how am i even supposed to tell her how i feel? she's a god, or something like that, there's no way she's gonna wanna be with me!" callisto had rambled while he was splayed out on the couch, hands over his face.

daizo shrugged back to him. "you could always confess on stage at one of the concerts or something. you know, i always let you say a couple things during the show, that could be it. but if she doesn't wanna date you, that'll be pretty embarrassing."

so daizo hadn't been much of a help towards callisto figuring out a way to confess his feelings towards the girl. the concert idea might be what he was going with, though. but he just felt so lost on what to do. taharial, the girl he liked, was just so wonderful, and it seemed like such a far-fetched idea that she would want to be with him. he had no idea how to even go about telling her "hey, i kinda really like you!" callisto breathed out a sigh and ran his hands through his hair before deciding to just figure it out later.

weeks went by. the tour ended, and callisto completely blew his chance to say how he felt on stage. so it had come down to him telling her outright. he decided that he wouldn't make it some big thing by taking her out on a date or anything. he would just tell her when they were hanging out again. and that time came by way sooner than he had expected.

taharial and callisto had just been sitting around when callisto finally decided to spill everything that had been on his mind. "so," callisto started awkwardly.

"so," taharial echoed.

"um. there's been, uh, something that i've been meaning to say for a while."

taharial just nodded for callisto to continue, seeming unconcerned about what he was about to say. she continued to just mess around with the rubik's cube she had picked up.

callisto cleared his throat, trying to block away all of his nervousness. "i really like you. like, i mean, i probably really sound like a high schooler or even maybe a middle schooler, but i just- i don't really know how else to say all of this. i just really, really like you."

"oh, i know."

"what?"

───────

"...and that's how taharial and i got together!" callisto summarized happily.

the kalon asking the question smiled at the happy ending, though she did have one small comment. "i still think that you should have gone with the concert idea."

"𝔜𝔬𝔲 𝔞𝔯𝔢, ℑ 𝔱𝔥𝔦𝔫𝔨, 𝔞𝔫 𝔢𝔳𝔢𝔫𝔦𝔫𝔤 𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯. 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔣𝔞𝔦𝔯𝔢𝔰𝔱 𝔬𝔣 𝔞𝔩𝔩 𝔱𝔥𝔢 𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯𝔰."

"Is there someone in your life that you would give everything for?"

    Lottie sat perched on a shaven log, trawling through odd bottles and boxes, drawing a pen from the mass, and with it a book. It was hand bound, with wildflowers pressed haphazardly between pages. Licks of flame peeked underneath spare logs, crackling under the moonlight, billowing plumes of smoke drifting to kiss that moon herself. A question like that had the simplest answer of all, she thought. Her head tipped back - eyes cast upon the stars, a murmur set upon her lips, and so naturally she answered "My wife."

    "You wouldn't really think it, her and I. They say she's so cold, but I don't see it one bit. She's quiet, but I call it the mark of a genius, really. Goodness, she ought to give herself more credit." She seemed to twitter on endlessly. "I mean, I'm a bit of a dunce myself. But whatever she sees in me, I'm happy for it."

    "Right.."

    She fumbled with her hands, delicate fingers drumming restlessly. "I miss her."
    This meaningless babble seemed to make much more sense now. You cocked an eyebrow, nodding on.

    "She's far away now, but I know she'll return in due time." A sigh. "War does that, you know? Keeps those you care for so far away" You could've sworn you saw her brow furrow, her eyes glisten, but so easily her aloof smile returned. "But we write whenever we can, and for that I am grateful."

    She held that tattered book tight, you could catch a glimpse of old letters, notes, drawings, hints to their exchanges in this period of longing. Without a word, she waved, and seemed to fade within the depths of the forest.

    "You picked up all of my broken pieces and put me back together again."

    Fayth blushed at the question and gestured frantically, mimicking writing on a paper with a pen.

    "I would give everything to my partner, Alix! We've been married for 15 years, and our love has always remained strong. They've helped me at all of my rough times, and I thank them so much for that.

    We've known each other for much longer than 15 years, though. Alix and I met each other in high school, one of the oddballs out. Literally. As one of the members of the LGBT community, we immediately connected and understood each other. They even helped me when I was kicked out of my home. I haven't spoken since then, but Alix has been very patient and understanding. I'm also very clumsy and I break a lot of things, but they've been very kind about cleaning up my messes.

    Alix is my world. They saved me. They gave me a home when I didn't have one and a love when I desperately needed one. Now we have our own bakery, and they set up a toyshop for me in the back. We also have a son, and he's a very successful actor.

    Like I said - I mean, wrote - before, I feel like our love knows no bounds. We've beaten time, money, speech, and all other odds. None of those things matter to us. As long as we're with each other, we're happy. The world could be ending, but if I'm with Alix at that time I'll be happy.

    In a way, Alix has already given everything to me."

”Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer, we’re a notorious couple of cats!”

Reggie and Ginnie had been troublemaking pals since they first opened their eyes. The two of them were always causing some trouble together; in fact, the only time they ever disagreed on something was when asked who the culprit was! They would each point at the other while saying the classic line, “I didn’t do it!” This usually prompted a chuckle, and always prompted a grounding. Their parents knew, of course, that grounding the two simultaneously would only result in them making mischief in their room; such as that time they had been caught trying to steal the hidden halloween candy and then ended up breaking the window in their bedroom while in timeout.

As a result of their inability to be left to their own devices, Reggie’s parents ended up making a “grounding chart” that hung on the fridge. Reggie would be grounded every other day, and Ginnie in between. The whole thing only ever lasted a week, but being separated from Ginnie was a good enough punishment for Reggie. He could only wreak half as much havoc alone as he could with his sister. Rest assured, however, when the two were back together again, the rowdiness ensued, just as strong, if not stronger to make up for lost time.

Along with their troublemaking habits, Reggie and Ginnie always had each other’s back. They often took the same classes, if only so that they could share notes and homework. Reggie had, at one point, decided that when it came to math, they each only had to do half the problems and they’d combine answers before bed. Reggie always took odds and Ginnie evens. It was a good little system they had worked out for themselves. The two of them were also clever enough to know that they couldn’t just copy the exact same thing, and would throw in a mistake or two to keep the teachers (and parents) at bay. They never ended up being caught either!

Reggie and Ginnie had and still have a friendship that any sibling pair would be jealous of, and they’re proud of that.

    "Love is blind," Leonie murmured, half to herself, before letting out a small snort of laughter through her nose. "Quite literally, in my case. My darling actually is blind. I was there when they told her, y'know. She was so...calm. I was the one getting all fired up, asking how someone so young could be losing their sight, but there was nothing she could do about it, so...she just helped me to get on with things. She even made jokes about the kind of glasses she should get."

    She shook her head slightly, a half smile on her face. "She's amazing, y'know? Never complains. Just learns to cope with not being able to see. She still has some vision, but we know at some point, it's all gonna go. I'm so glad she got to see our kids. Most of them, anyway. Even with glasses they're a bit blurry to her, but she loves them so much, and they love her too. They don't complain, either, about having a mother who can't do all the things some other mum's can."

    For a moment she paused, gaze wandering around the various wagons in the caravan. "You've got some nice people here," she said. "Kind, curious. Nice things for sale, too. I'll buy something nice for her. We buy her things she can touch; soft things, or with interesting textures. She likes feeling like she can still get an image of something, even if she can't actually see it. I'm more than happy to help out with that. I like seeing her happy."

    She glanced around again, the smile still on her face. "You can expect me back here sometime soon, with her and the kids. They'll love the experience, and the stories. Yeah... we'll come here again."

Lynn sits in silence so long it's hard to tell if she's even planning on answering. After a while, she takes a deep breath, and an old sadness touches her eyes. She closes them and murmurs, "I suppose there are more than one. But..." She glances over her shoulder, searching for someone. "There is only one still a part of my life. If the others wandered back someday and I gave everything for them, I rather think she would feel quite betrayed. Maybe rightfully so."

Lynn turns her head back and the firelight gleams against her dark hair. "Til death do us part. That is the saying, isn't it? But in some sense, doesn't my life belong to her just as much as it does to me? If I gave it away for the sake of another, she would feel that loss, and I would not. She would endure so much if I left her behind."

Shoulders bowed, Lynn looks for a moment as if she is carrying the weight of the world. "I have given my love and my oaths to others. But they did not stay with me, whether by their choice or not, they are no longer here. If they were to return to me, I would be desperate not to lose them again. In a moment of fervent love, I might be capable of giving my everything for them. But I hope I wouldn't. I hope I would stay loyal to the promises I have made to Pippa." Lynn sighs heavily. "I have broken too many promises in my time. Not to her. I will not give up my life for anyone but her."

...Til death do us part...

"Rare as is true love, true friendship is rarer"
- Jean de La Fontaine

Michael & Jasper

Michael and Jasper's relationship is one of those where two people who became close friends accidentally mistook their closeness for a more romantic relationship. They pushed too much to be more of a couple, and eventually it made them separate further until they broke apart completely. While Michael moved on and focused more on platonic relationships, Jasper had completely shut down for a period, unable to comprehend what had gone wrong. It made him become more irritable and anxious, taking a few months before he started to gradually become himself again. Michael took their mistakes and used it as a lesson- just because a friendship is too good to be true, doesn't mean it has to be more than a friendship. This has opened his eyes to what he should look for in a real romantic relationship.
After some self assessing, Michael called Jasper to ask about a rendezvous. Meeting up together at a local bar, Michael explained to Jasper what he had realized... but also that he still cared about and loved him as a friend. They both agreed that things wouldn't be the same as before, but that their connections as friends would never truly be broken. Their trials and errors with each other taught both of them what it's like to find good friends, and how hard they are to come by. It taught them even more that they were important to each other regardless of their past because they knew they had one another to connect with and have a shoulder to cry on. Their trust, love, and bond stuck when in most cases it wouldn't.
This relationship is special because they taught each other how to love in different ways and how to form relationships with others all while sticking side by side through thick and thin.

"It's okay to fail. It's not okay to quit."

─────────────────────

"Well...You're alive. I suppose that's something."

"It's on fire."

"You're still breathing though, I'll take that as a win anytime."

Kaida sighed and scowled at Mira before turning back to the spontaneous seemingly ever-burning bonfire, which was once a barn. Frustration bubbled in her chest at her failure. She was supposed to have been careful but this felt anything but. "I've burned your barn down. All because I stupidly thought I was ready to move on from our lesson. Obviously I was wrong...like always nowadays."

Hearing a huff, Kaida glanced at her mentor, who's face held a small smirk, "It wouldn't be the first barn to be burned, Kaida. And you're not hurt, that's all that matters."

Giving a snarl, Kaida gave into the bubbling hurt and rage, "How can you be so calm?! I-I don't understand-I- You should be furious! Do you just not care!? Am I the only one who does?! I can't seem to do anything! Nothing I do turns out right! I can't seem to follow anything you do and now I've burned down your barn and almost the entire forest because I'm too stupid to get whatever it is you're trying to teach me! I can't do it! Maybe you should just find another apprentice cause this clearing isn't working out!"

Mira sighed softly, "I do care, very much. And for what it's worth, I think you're doing just fine, Kaida." Giving her young charge a soft look, "Magic is hard. It's hard to understand and to learn. And to be completely honest, I wouldn't have offered if I didn't think you could get it and excel at it, maybe even surpass me one day."

Gesturing to the still burning barn, Mira continued, " You're going to fail. It'd going to happen. It's okay to fail. It's not okay to quit just because something gets hard and you're feeling discouraged. Every failure and disappointment is a learning experience. You don't learn very well from your successes. And I'd rather have you fail at every turn than succeed and never learn a thing."

Kaida paused staring at the older female, the only person in her life at the moment. The anger she had been feeling faded, leaving a sort of warm feeling in her chest as her words sunk in. Smirking she said, "I'm not so sure that last thing made sense, Mira."

Mira huffed, "It did. And even if it didn't, I'm the mentor, no talking back." Giving the younger female a glance, she asked quietly, "Are we good?"

"We're good."

Axxi and Jezabel(Owned by Aey)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You are my light and my hope <3

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Looking through the old photo books, Axxi turns and looks at his beloved, Jeza. "I remember the day I met you, I knew you would be the one for me" he whispered in a soft tone. It was true, back when he was a prince he didn't believe that Love could exist till the night his eyes laid upon that 'stranger' in his garden. That night was one of the happiest he has ever felt, he could still remember everything that happened that night from the smallest detail till they were she said her name once he has greeted her, to the game they played that night...the night they would never forget.
She was so beautiful then and she still is, she gave him everything he ever wanted, the comfort that a prince couldn't have, the happiness that even when the darkness would take him, she was always there. "They say your true love comes at the time you need it, I believe I was sent you before it was my time to become king' he had whispered in her ear with a warm smile. He had then placed the photobook carefully on the shelf behind them with the empty pages ready to be filled with more memories of there love, more memories of their life they had waiting for them.
With a turn he headed back to Jeza and swept her in his arms, and kissed her cheek wanting to show how much he loved her and let tears flow down his cheeks in a stream. "You saved me. You made me realize that there is so much more in life than being royalty, you showed me how to love and I will forever remember that till the end, my beautiful butterfly" he looked away and turned back to her, whiping the tears from his eyes. Love is love and this love will blood till the river stops flowing and till the wolves stop howling.
"I'm not exaggerating, or embarrassed, when I say that you are truly who I live for."
Favian wasn't sure where he would be without Cedany. The word wife, dear, beloved, treasured one... there aren't enough words in the world for him to explain everything she meant to him. He was in a vulnerable place, unsure of where to go from his position. He was on the path of war now, that much was certain; and he was fine with it. But though this goal was clear as day, he was tired.
Favian, as the new king, was on the route to the neighboring tribes with plans to negotiate an alliance so that he would have more troops in this upcoming fight. He had wandered off, curious about plants he had never seen before. Without noticing it, he had lost sight of the escort with him, and he could not remember what path he took when he bounced from one unique flower to another. The king knew how to hunt, but he did not bring any weapon besides a sword. And he couldn't imagine getting close enough to an animal to swing it in this forest. Not that he had to worry about that, as a voice behind him spoke, with the calm and confidence of a hunter. Move quickly, and there'll be an arrow in your heart.
It was not an ordinary start to their relationship, but as he soon found out, the woman's name was Cedany, and she was the head of the tribe in control of the forest. They met often to arrange how this alliance would function, and though he tried to be professional, she cared little for formalities, and he would find himself talking too much in answer to her blunt questions. He developed a liking to her, as she refused to accept the excuses everyone else accepted, and with her he could tell her anything, and she would give an opinion that disregarded his high rank. She was blunt, but he needed someone sharp in his life to cut away what he had built up.
He wasn't sure what made her like him, since it was Cedany who confessed first, as per her usual to-the-point nature. Who could see good in a king that was not at all strong? But she said she liked him all the same.
Favian hoped he could someday do something for her in the same way she saved him.
