the vacancy is...an odd place, and its surroundings are no different. for starters, it's a giant void, so technically its inhabitants are surrounded by infinite nothingness. it's big and small at the same time, and depending on the time of day, it changes colours from white to black. however, it's nestled in a ball, so the felines living in it are kind of isolated from the universe, in their own little pocket dimension.

the cats can exit though! the walls are technically made of pure umbra, so the cats are able to slip through the shadows stealthily. they are almost invisible. outside, cats step into a multicoloured, rainbow space. the colourful expanse is surrounded by the ether's glimmering, constantly shifting stars. this place, also known as the lacuna, is pockmarked with little wormholes everywhere for the cats to travel to other dimensions.

the guild's main hub is located inside an abandoned barn, just outside the town. around the barn is some farmland, fields, and forest. the town, just a brisk walk down the dusty road, sits at the base of a snow-capped mountain. a river weaves through the surrounding area, as well as smaller creeks and ponds. the town isn't very large, but it is well-populated. many cats pass through on their way up the mountain.

the fields around the barn flower in spring, the forest turns orange in autumn, and the town gets covered by a thin layer of snow in winter.

The Overgrowth spread rapidly and without care for what it might've been consuming. The City (for it might have had a name, but not one that it's resident felines knew) is large and crumbling, the shambling husks of the Overgrown wandering the streets. Plantlife of all shapes and sizes crawl up alongside buildings and great vines snatch unsuspecting prey out of the air. Steel and jungle collide, and the cats of the Ruins crawl across the city with practiced ease.
The cats tend to stick to the Downtown area- the City is much larger than one community could patrol. Cafes and supermarkets and apartment buildings, empty of the humans they once housed and slowly being pulled apart by the Overgrowth's roots and vines, make up most of their territory.

High in the branches of an ancient tree, towering above the rest of the forest, lies the heart of the cats' territory. Each morning, sunlight filters through the leaves of the thick canopy, creating warm spots perfect for the cats to bask in. Natural hollows in the trunk offer shelter from the elements, while the overhang of leaves shields them from the rain. From the top they have a prime view of the surrounding areas, creating an excellent vantage point for scouting out potential dangers. Below, the land is wild and overgrown, with crumbling ruins of an old civilisation hidden beneath vines and bushes. Scattered throughout are broken trees, shattered by monsters, and patches of scorched earth, reminders of battles fought and the fires of war that once ravaged the land.

with their camp cushioned safely in a valley, echoing peaks territory is mostly mountains, hills, and lush greenery that expands their whole territory. while the mountains provide cover and protection, they are also very dangerous to maneuver through. rocky outcroppings grow slick in the rain, and missteps can be fatal. these brave cats face these challenges monthly however, on their way to the great water; a giant waterfall east of the camp, tucked into the mountains, where special ceremonies are held. shamans must also go over the mountains to visit the spirit tree, a weeping willow that grows beside a large lake.

fortunately, not every path is treacherous. the valley narrowly cuts through a portion of the mountains, leading out to hills that have become the perfect spot for training juveniles. past that is the river, which cuts through the entire territory. it's an excellent place to hunt, with spots to safely pass to the other side, but it can quickly become dangerous during goldleaf.

despite this remote location, humans have still found their way here. hikers pass through the territory periodically, but the main threats are the hotel; which sees different humans coming and going yearly, and the strange place; a farm with a plethora of farm animals and their protective owners.

in the wake of a humanity-ending virus, the animals of north hyseige must be very methodological about where they choose to settle down. there is competition for territory no matter where you find yourself and danger of all sorts lurking around every corner, just waiting for a chance to strike at unsuspecting passerby. to combat the risks of living in such a broken world, many forms of fauna (who have evolved and mutated due to and since the virus crisis) have begun to group up and form packs in hopes of bettering their chances of survival.

herein lies a ragtag clan of cats known as the paroxysm, whose homebase (and a good portion of their territory) is a sprawling, overgrown city called lostsun that lies just a few miles off the coastal shores of north hyseige. the city is widely comprised of dilapidated buildings that nature has since reclaimed, leading to an abundant set of options for shelter from the elements and giving the cats ample space to explore and reside. forests border the city on all sides- nearly concealing it in a way- but even the thickets do little to stop rovers and rival groups from infiltrating the city's limits and impeding on the lives of those who already reside there, which the cats of paroxysm are unfortunately quite intimately familiar with.

there are only two choices in a place like this: survive, or become a stepping stone for someone else's story.

Esker-clan celebrates plenty of holidays like, Esker day. Esker day is celebrated on the eighth day of summer and is the day the clan was founded. On Esker day the clan celebrates in a few different ways. The leader of the clan has to prove that they are still fit to run the clan by climbing up the tree in the center of the clan without falling once, if the leader is to fall they get dropped from leader instantly. When that happens all the clan cats get the chance to scramble up the tree, the first one to reach the top is the new leader for the next year. After the great climb the clan's hunters get to have a feast eating as much food as they possibly can, the cat who eats the most gets to have an entire week off hunting. After the feast the kittens and trainees get to have their fun, They all show off their skills to see if they get to advance to the next level. For kits this means they have to be able to run from the beach all the way back to the clan tree in 15 minutes, if they succeed they get promoted to trainee. The trainees have to wind through the clan's tunnel system and find a pile of prey in 15 minutes every trainee that does gets promoted to hunter. The only members of the clan that don't have to participate in one of the challenges are the elders and pregnant cats, they get to celebrate by eating as much as they want with the hunters, walking behind the kittens to make sure they don't get lost, and hiding the prey within the tunnels for the trainees to find. Safe to say becoming an Elder gets you the best rewards in the clan.

Sunclan has a few celebrations, the first being the first day of newleaf. The newleaf celebration is called 'Newleaf welcome' where prey is shared among the clan and games are played. Even the older warriors and elders join in the games. The games are set in the camp so everyone can participate even the kits. Some games include find the feather, who can climb the tall tree the highest, races to be the fastest cat in the clan and who can clean the nests the neatest. The celebration only lasts a day and starts after when the patrols are finished and the hunting parties come back.

The second celebration is called 'Wake of the sun' where it is a spiritual celebration. Cats of starclan come down once every 12 moons to besiege their wisdom and love for their clan. Sunclan cats offer items such as feathers, shells and flowers and share their most favorite memories of a passed one and reminisce. The clan shares tongues with the cats of starclan, and even share prey with them although most starclan cats decline due to the never ending prey in the starclan hunting grounds. The wake of the sun, occurs during the summer solstice, where the sun is the brightest and the moon shines the most. The celebration is held at night where the moon illuminates the camp and only lasts for a night.

The third celebration, is the celebration of life. Every kit that is born into the clan is welcomed by the clan. Cats of sunclan offer gifts of soft moss, feathers and shells to give to the newborn kits. Even the mother gets pampered with her favorite prey and the softest items for her nest.
