What are Khimaira Friesians?:

Khimaira Friesians are a "normal" friesian breed with all characteristics of a friesian and a average height from 15 to 17 hands, but even 18 hands can occur. The first born Khimaira was mistaked for a chimera horse. But a genetic test showed otherwise, there wasn't a second DNA but a complete new and unknown gen. Because this gen makes the friesian look like a chimera it was named khimaira. khimaira doesn't produce a complete new dna coat and therefor it can only lighten or darken the base coat of the horse. Till now only the paint khimaira is known that makes the khimaira coloration looks like tobiano, overo, sabino or splash. But we believe that there will be more khimaira variations out there and we still try to breed them. Appaloosas are not known till now, but we have some great friesian mixed horses with appaloosa patterns, so we are sure to deliver them to you in a short amount of time.

Khimaira coloration, variation and rarity:

Khimaira coloration

Khimaira is not a chimera gen, so it does not contain two horse genetics. it is a complete new genetic that causes the main body coat to lighten or darken on certain places. it can be compared to the paint gen, only that it doesn't change the base coat color to white but to a lighter or darker dilution of the base coat. khimaira can even have a pearl like dilution without having a pearl gen included.

Notes on Fantasy Khimaira:
- Fantasy Khimaira is a special Khimaira variation and it is based on a theme. As example: flowers. the theme of a horse will hereditary with 100% to every foal that got the fantasy gen too. if you breed two fantasy gens with different themes (example flower and insects) then the foals can have either one theme or both merged together (like butterflys on a flower). (but a foal can never contain more then 2 themes at the same time!)
what theme the foal will have will be raffled like this: 1. flower theme 2. insect theme 3. flower and insect theme = raffle between 1-3
- Fantasy gen was supposed to pass down with the same amount like every other genetic (making it pass down at least for 50% and even for 100% if homozygous), but i think this is just to much, based on the work artists will have with this genetic and the rarity it has. So i will change it and give it a 30% chance to pass down, this chance is still higher then for other very rare markings (like chimeric with 10%) but i think much better organized. so i hope you understand.

Friesian coloration and rarity:

Friesian coloration

Khimaira friesians are not restricted to the black base coat, they can have all base coat colorations, but some have a higher rarity then others. but all colors have one in common, they often show a darker dilution. so if you see a friesian with a lighter dilution it often seems to have at least 1 pearl gen. Friesians don't have facial or leg markings, the same goes for khimaira friesians.

- Important, every breeded horse has a 1 step lesser rarity then a foundation horse. so a breeded horse that should be very rare is only rare from now on! a foundation horse that is considered very rare will stay very rare! with this you will only be able to obtain a true very rare horse with a foundation horse!

Dominant pearl gen:

Pearl coloration

Another new genetics in these friesian is the first known dominant pearl gen. If a friesian has 1 pearl gen his fur will get a lighter dilution (normally all colors have a dark dilution), if it has 2 dominant pearl gen his fur will have the look of a homozygous pearl. if it has 1 dominant pearl gen and 1 cream gen it will look slightly different then when it has 2 cream gens.

Fog Marking:

Fog

Because many people have problems with fog markings or khimaira fog, i decided to show my examples of fog and khim fog here, so that you get the feeling of how i want it to look ^^
Fog markings are a easter egg marking from my old breed the Tharkja Pond Horses and it is a mutation of the tobiano paint marking. It starts similiar like tobiano, so it often begins on the head and all four legs. It can happen to begin on the wrist, the group, the breast or the belly too, similiar like tobiano occurs. Fog marking has the mutation that the tobiano get's thinner and thinner ans ends in fog like swirls. But it is still thick enough to be considered a paint marking, it never happens to be so thin that it looks like brindle or reverse/white brindle
Important:
fog is a paint marking, so it will merge together with other paint markings! the same can happen with khimaira fog, it can merge together with other khimaira markings!

Shadow and Ghost gen:

Shadow marking

Shadow marking is a marking that covers the edges of all paint markings in a darker shade of the base coat, sometimes it can even cover the edges of appaloosa or cloud, but that is very rarely the case

Claw marking:

Claw marking

Claw markings are a tribute markings from the Tharkjas and they look like scars covering the horse. they can appear as paint or khimaira marking. When the claw marking meets the mane/tail or hoove it will change the color.

Colored paint marking:

Colored paint marking

Colored paint markings passed down from Unicorn Tharkja (Gold) and Demon Tharkja (Red)
But they can't pass down from Khimaira Unicorns or Demons, unless the foal is unicorn or demon themselfes. So the colored paint markings (ONLY paint markings, not white markings like on khimaira unicorn and demons) we know are only red and golden from TPH demon and unicorns.
colored paint markings color the mane and the hooves in the same color too, when they meet them.

Fire marking:

Fire marking

Fire markings are a tribute marking from the Tharkja, they can appear in any possible way (tobiano, overo, splash or complete mix up) and look like flames. But if a real paint or khimaira marking is present the fire will always merge with these markings and will not appear on its own. They can appear as paint and khimaira markings, when they meet the mane/tail/hooves they will change the color.

Hippocampus Markings:

Fish spots and markings:

Fish spots and markings is a marking only known on the hippocampus friesians, they can pass it on to normal friesians though.
When Friesians have these gens on them they can show fish spots and markings of real fishes on their coat (never showing the fish!
only it's markings). If a friesian has a fish base coat he can show spots and markings even without the spot and marking gen though.

Khimaira seaweed is a marking only known on the hippocampus friesians, they can pass it on to normal friesians though. It is a marking that looks like a mutation of splash, looking like seaweed in the water

Khimaira waterstream:

Khimaira waterstream is a marking only known on the hippocampus friesians, they can pass it on to normal friesians though. It is a marking that looks like a mutation of cobweb and paint cloud. It has 2 markings shown, one is the cobweb mutation and the other the cloud mutation.
the cobweb mutation covers the body of the horse in something that looks like sea current.
and the cloud mutation looks like a smudged cloud covering the whole body
